It's been over a year and a half since I played NMS, but wow have they totally hosed up the Nomad in that span. It frequently will barely move or not at all. It used to be unstoppable on any terrain.

Well, I believe exiting the ship creates a restore point, you can create a save beacon to set your own restore point in your base, but the game also autosaves, idk at what intervals
