When you hover over then and placing them the bonuses amout to diffrent numbers

Question out to the builders here. The first build loses aprox 400 maneuverability after corvette station and then using it for a bit. While the second loses over 800. Any explanation for the delta between 9% and 18%?
Or in other words is there something I can do to reduce the loss?
Two things. One could be that you just had really bad rolls for stats, which sucks. Two could be that if you changed sector, the stats changed based on said sector's seed, which is apparently a thing.
Conclusion, probably not much you can do aside from maybe changing sectors
Do you mean the sector that the corvette is built in? The first has always lost around 400, the second is a new build.
No, apparently the sector you're in affects stats, so one sector might have certain stats while if you fly the ship to the next, that selfsame ship can have different values. Admittedly I haven't noticed such myself, but then I'm not keeping a close eye on stats between sectors

This has never been confirmed. And the idea it does make a difference is based in ship fabricator for legacy ship building being system based.
No one has found any system that favors higher Corvette stats or any improved base. If they existed we would all have the coordinates on hand to share with others
Im not even sure which form of stats the work in progress thing shows. If its the base stats, itll be extremely difficult to figure that out because functional corvette parts count as tech, which changes the stats
If you're talking about the two vette's above they show base stats, first ends up around 4500 and second ends up at 4000
But that isnt the base stats
I dont think ships can generate with base stats over 1k

I spent about three hours carefully deleting habs and excess parts to make my ship remotely usable. Then, by adding several prefabs with planters, I created a new lag spike that I might need to address.
Not quite certain if it's indeed my hydroponics section creating the random freeze that lasts for three seconds, but I'm hoping it's that simple.

I didn't think I could recover so much space from the "wings" of my huge corvette, though I also knew the volume should have allowed for it. Base Builder helps so much.
Now the big question is do I stuff it with habs or keep it as an open space... the ship layout is pretty much already planned out, I don't need more space, haha.
Habs = more lag and strain. I use open spaces now
I guess you never know what might trigger a glitch but I have a hydroponics habs with shrunken planters and it's been fine for me.
If it was me you were asking, no, just parts that are buried now that were used for snap points.
I still had overlapping habs in here lol.

Personally I'd think it's more about just how many different objects are visible at once.
Believe me, with some of the more insane ship designs with hundreds, if not thousands of base parts in them, that's not the issue.

I've seen massive floating farms with hydroponics. If anything, it's the fact that the prefabs probably have to load in their interiors like habs do.
And, regardless, the habs were coded with that problem in mind
And the cubes have more dynamic connection stuff, making a larger interior space
Personally I "feel" like the less Habs/parts the less laggy the ship feels in flight. The couple massive ships I have lag more often when approaching frigates and entering atmospheres. But from experience the most lag is made by the power your vette makes. I have one with 5k maneuverability and it lags the most out of everything I fly
What prefabs are you talking about? Cubes?
I think i saw cubes mentioned. Theyre generally less complex than rooms and halls, but the interiors can be completely open to other cubes
The thing is, even if you have a 3x3x3 room of cubes, all 27 cubes are still there

Regardless, if all else fails, I delete them and just keep the nose empty. There's more than enough stuff in here to make my corvette feel like a freighter.

My guess is they are loaded as a tree, with a root part (probably landing gear) and all other parts defined as connected to the root or a part connected to the root, etc
workshop. That's a thing I learned after learning what rooms real ships have, haha.
Now that my wings are opened up, I might have to ask on here for ideas - hopefully there are some naval experts here lol

From the rear moving forward, I have the garages/workshops, then the middle section with access to the bridge, a barracks/common area, and a hangar/ready area. The front has hydroponics for now.

Ok, it shoots three rockets at a time, same as a normal ship. The position they come from varies a lot based on the camera angle, but isn't correlated with the turret positions at all

Behind the front of the command ship. Closed off but still easily accessible
Build your corvette, with connections between the floating parts, got to the corvette build terminal, quickly got to the "buy corvette parts page" exit that, and go to "build a corvette" and fly back and delete the connectors.
Third-person flyable only, I assume.

At the second terminal it's
Purchase > purchase > go back > build Corvette. Can delete anything after the build is done. Even essential parts

Bombing runs on salvage planets can be quite quick if you find a good world. Probably better than one part per 30 seconds if you find a particularly good world

Don't think you can without mods, but corvettes have their own storage modules that have the exact same functionality

Hey ! I’m new to the game, I got my first 4.6million units. Should I prioritize getting a corvette or trade for a ship that I like in space stations?

You can't buy a full corvette for that amount, however you can get a few pieces for free by going to the nearest world tagged with salvage. Use your units to buy the missing pieces after you've gotten a dozen or two. Corvettes are amazingly convenient compared to regular spaceships, though they do start out a little bit on the slow and cumbersome side before you finish upgrading them.

Blender takes like 2 addition apps to be able to use properly. It's a process but once it's setup you're good

Base builder allows Corvettes to be built over the part limit and gives you a much larger corvette bubble to build in. Without it you will not be able to alter or decorate your corvette built from Blender.
Blender allows you to resize parts and lower their system resource cost. Allowing you to build bigger Corvettes with no lag to you or others around you.
So they are best used together cause you can't fully use the benefits of one without he other
With blender there are also other apps you need on the side. To load your creations into the game. And putting them in the files.
For that in-depth stuff do refer to the #nms-modding channel here. It's not necessarily just downloading it and using it. But you have to set it up right to work with the game.

Alright. Got two large refiners and two antimatter generators added to my cruiser. Med bays with health station and suit charging stations added as well. Not sure if I'll really be able to do anything with the lighting, so that might be off the table. I think all I need to do is complete the bridge, add crew lodging, and finish the observation deck and my cruiser will be complete.

Yeah, storage containers and your corvette storage are 2 different things
You can sell from corvette storage, but not storage modules
Thats annoying, i store most of my items inside of the storage modules, but hey, the corvettes are super cool so ill let it slide

Kinda? It does change the perspective a little bit, but it can be really annoying depending on your build. For example mine is very vertical, so it's hard to see directly in front of me

Never heard of the "Miniaturization glitch" before and open areas don't require a glitch. You just build around the space you want open.

Didn't know you could use a glitch to re-scale parts. I just used mods.
It's a part of the family of wire glitches. I use it to shrink my save point and put aquariums neatly on tables. I'm on PS5.

do you have to do story missions first
Just find planets with Salvageable Scrap (I think that's the name), scan for them (yellow Wifi icon), and mine them to get parts (you can also just shoot carefully with your ship). Then go to any space station and use any of the 4 blue teleporters to go to corvette spot and start building. If you have millions of credits already, you can buy some parts there too.

I made mine early-ish on my main save, but if you want one really early, you can do the current expedition on a new save, the gimmick of this expedition is that you are forced to make a corvette and you are given the parts to do so.
So you get a really big headstart on corvette experience
To me Corvettes are a nice to have and not a must have but they're nice once you've built one you really like
The Corvette Redux Expedition literally ends within the next 13 hours or so any one under taking it would be doing it under a time crunch; I would suggest doing the next one Breach Redux (Note, this Expedition does not have NPC's so pack accordingly )on December 31st under a new save as it'll unlock the Atlas /Aeron parts for your game and any saves you make
Does anybody know a lot about glitch building and how to make really cool highly detailed builds with special parts like this? I am looking for somebody who could potentially teach me how to do some of these things and what this guy did to make the open area look so clean. It takes 85K nanites to upgrade a Corvette to S-Class at the back of any space station at the same terminal you use for normal starships and it has never been a part you get since Corvette's came out; C Class to B Class = 10,000 nanites, B Class to A Class = 25,000, and A Class to S Class = 50,000

I've been working on a sci-fi universe since my teens and some main stories set in it, so, things like building a future utopian city in Cities: Skylines or building corvettes in NMS are a two-way feedback loop of ideas. 😄
Building this corvette in NMS has made me think hard about its interior, its use, its possible history and legacy.... so with some help from ChatGPT I've got a story idea I'm working on and have been writing out mostly dialogue these past couple weeks.

As for the ship, it's a littoral corvette built as a quick responder. Speed, armor, some stealth. It's a mini version of the cruiser I originally imagined.
10 habs long, 7 decks + 4 tiny decks for a 3-vehicle exocraft hangar. The design, despite of course nonfunctional in NMS, has a shuttle on a functional airlock, a cargo dock, 360 degree weapons and thruster coverage, can split into 2 parts, and also has an eject-able/modular citadel. And of course, all rooms a corvette should have, according to ChatGPT, lol. 😄

The cyclotron cannon can be bought from the starship tech merchant at the anomaly, and it's really powerful against shields. When I don't want to just use the infa knife, I like the cyclotron cannon and rocket launcher

Hi guys! I just finished my first actual corvette build! I was trying to recreate the Tempest from Mass Effect Andromeda, and while its not perfect I am happy with what I was able to do on my first try without any real experience. Any feedback with be appreciated, I was struggling a lot with capturing the sleekness/curves of the Tempest and ended up experimenting with almost all of the different cowlings and diffusers throughout this process. How do you guys try to get curves/sleekness into your designs?

You get sleekness by using the hull decoration pieces over most of your corvette design depending on that design; if you're replicating a ship from another fandom etc it may not be possible with the default limit of 100 corvette pieces in which case some people ended up using mods and learning blender to extended the complexity limit and using blender to design the ship they want.
Sometimes designing a sleek ship means using a lot less habitation modules to get more of that sleek shell

Depends on what thruster; I rebuilt a ship from scratch recently and i got my rockhoppers to animate again but after awhile they stopped animating fully and i wonder if it's because of the mag landing pads and a animation limit

Yeah I think it's a animation limit; I've submitted a bug report to HG and so have other people with the same issue or that only use smaller amounts of rockhoppers that aren't animating. Use this if you're not into min/maxing. Best lazy optimization tool
The thing is for a Corvette it's not just the Pulse drive that gives maneuverability. You can get more maneuverability by putting in three Medusa Reactors before putting in the cockpit as those also give you a boost to maneuverability
What you want to do it get all the basic Pulse drive upgrades from the Anomaly unlocked and built to put in; you can also put in three S or X class upgrades next to those to help boost Maneuverability.
If you really want to min/max you can check what the max is for those upgrades or any other by going to in Catalogue and Guide > Technology > Starship and looking for those upgrades on the second page.

Delete 2 of the 3 reactors, apply edit.
then go back in delete the cockpit and then put the reactors before you put the cockpit and then apply the edits.
you might have to do a variation of that to get it to work

That method worked, and now I have 3 reactors in tech boxes. I upgraded from 1 to 3 with the cockpit installed. maybe something with that bugged it.

I don't mind using third party apps to make it easier but there is truth to that.
When you are limited in your size, pieces and available placement you're forced to be more creative. You're put in a box of creativity that you must work within.
With Base building I glitch build heavily. Yet I still appreciate people building with the base mechanics that turn out really artistic builds.

That's very Liberal of you, and I kinda agree. However, something gets my back up when people can do something I can't, when it's not even my fault. In a creative forum, where I believe creative skill should reign supreme, I feel like blender is a kinda slap in the face. Mostly because I can't do it on xbox, and also because I feel like hello games didn't intend it, otherwise they might have put it in the game.
Going to such lengths to create ships some of us can't have also creates fomo. So in my opinion it's a negative all round.

Don't use the in game photomode mouse 1 to take a picture use f12 if playing on steam or whatever key you have changed it to ; take a screen cap of your current graphics setup and then up all the settings, put on the best Anti Aliasing setting you can use, Steam also has a png setting you can use under Settings > In Game scroll down to screenshots and enable save an external copy of my screenshot which enables saving a png copy to a folder you chose also this will increase file size for this images / png's
Choose good angles to highlight what you want to show others maybe even look at car pictures and the angles they use on those and mimic that; you can move the sun in photomode so you use that to highlight or adjust the light; and in lenses settings you can lower the vignette setting to 0% that removes the dark areas in the corners

I only really use offset techniques or the ones pinned in this channel as any greater glitch techniques have a chance to blocking your path in the corvette habituation modules or getting you stuck in the wall or whatever else that we don't know. Maybe look at videos pinned here and and try those in a creative save and just take it slow when tryign to replicate those
I'd suggest turning your crafting to free in the game settings under difficulty to practice any builds you want to do without worrying about part cost etc or make a dedicated creative save to practice on.
Some builds you seeing online, youtube and or even in here might be heavily modded or made in other applications like blender and require a lot more like modding the game; if you see something you want to replicate or build try asking that person how they did it.

The person who built it said that his friend on PC built the Freighter hab part, so I he doesn't know. I am wondering if it is a mod that was used and if so what mod.
If his friend built the Freighter hab on PC it was most likely modded or done in blender and probably not considered legit ship in no mans sky without using the same mods; I have no idea especially because i don't mod but you can try also asking in #nms-modding and see if they have any clues on what mods can accomplish this

yeah I think all corvettes start at C class and you gotta level em up manually
its 10k nanites for B, 25 for A, and 50 for S

No. The only reason most have it is as a size flex XD. It's so huge it's impractical. Not to mention it can be very leggy for yourself or others

You have too find a planet with Salvaged Scrap, and go dig it up, that will give you Corvette mods you can trade
fear will keep the local star systems in line

My current Corvette looked so bulky it’s sad
Get close too the surface, put your corvette on Autopilot and hop out the driver site and start using your scanner
when you find some scrap just hop back into the driver seat and shoot it with your ship, dont even need too touch down on the ground
Is there a way for it to Js hover cuz when I do that it still flies at a decent speed
If your on PC, it is the X menu, you have 2 choices, leave the driver seat, or set Autopilot
just set it on Autopilot too stay on its current course and it keeps moving even when you hop out

hey fellas I've got an issue with my corvette and I'm wondering if you know a workaround. While building my base I somehow stuck a floor piece "on" my corvette that was close-by.
Now it floats way below my corvette, I can't remove it outside the corvette workshop but when I'm there it's under the ground and I can't reach it. Any ideas?
you can use mods like better build mode no clip to get under the area with your camera

I do, quite often in fact - but I also know they can't catch every single small thing - anyway, it can be sold for units, so it's fine

Ok i moved some stuff around and stapled some manueverability mods on some supercharged slots
moves better now but I had to sacrifice DPS
so I tested that out the only way I know how
declaring war on a sentinel capital ship as one does
still works pretty damn well
what do you do with a corvette you dont want anymore? i assume you cant salvage it like a regular ship

I managed to install an Arcadia Sublight Booster backwards so it was inside the hab module

I feel you could put together a similar corvette with in-game parts and a little bit of glitching. You could definitely recreate it in Blender. But, you'd have to ask the friendly, neighborhood users of Blender on how to go about it. I look forward to seeing your progress!
The easiest way is to have a decent layout out of super charged tech slots, upgrade to S class, and to pay attention to the build order of your engines. Here's a video:

I gotta be honest the devs had a solid idea with corvettes but good lord they didnt think it through

No need for any build order stuff. You can swap the slots things are in after the ship is built.

When using the Corvette parts from an expedition and the plans do I build the Corvette in the expedition and then copy it over, or can I just build it on the main one
