Yes. It's a good corvette. I love its design. I have a similar build I'm working on. Trying to build a smaller corvette than my usual big builds.

Only way to put base parts on Corvettes now is through the base building mod. They took away the wire glitch method in the last round of updates because it was very unstable. For those who used it and players around them.

You don't have to. The corvette has its own set of storage boxes you can build inside of it.

If I could have all of my storage containers shrunk down and stacked up on one of those three tier shelves that would be preferable to the Corvette storage walls

It may be possible to make a halo 2 style with the grav lift, would involve a lot of offset glitch to at least try to get the shape. You won't be able to make the side doors without heavy glitches but at least the basics could maybe be possible. Also lots of side panels will be used probably. (Also wrong ship)
But the covenant ships are most likely more challenging than UNSC ships due to the curves they have. The larger ships could be possible.
Phaeton may be possible with the right glitches and with the speed bird side parts you can make the circles on the side work if the parts connect correctly. But I'm still a simple builder on corvettes.

hello all. i'm pretty new to NMS. i've built up a corvette. i'm noticing i've only 40 ship upgrade slots to build and add upgrades and augments. i've upgraded to B class now, but not sure that gave more slots? is there an easy way to get more slots?
Honestly? That looks like a way scaled down star destroyer
add a bunch of extra modules in creative and then remove them
and you get a free slot for each module you added then removed

Storage augmentation item, funds and nanites. As you go up in class your max slots go up. Although you don't automatically get them. You have to unlock them.

Duping is quite easy and there is no consequences for it, just so you know.
Dupe stacks of 50 engines sell for 170 or 150 million per stack.
i've seen dups in youtube vids. i did it for salvaged frieghter module just to get matter beam going for QoL inventory space. left me feeling a little dirty tbh

When you do these expedition redux don't use the augments you get for rewards. Save them and bring them back to normal save and use on corvette.
Or any ship you want. One of easiest ways to get storage augs, at least as far as I know.

Technically you dont need one with the hover ability but I've been stuck in the outer decorative pieces after teleporting to them because the base is on a hillside.

they're specific to the corvette you're working on, each corvette is a unique ship - you can have more than one corvette
you can change up the design completely

I'm the victim of this, btw. Even if other players like my corvette, I often still don't like it. So my corvettes are going through the countless rebuilds and adjustments.
Or, in other words, building the corvette is not a single-time event or process with a specific timeline, but a way that you have to accept.

if you dont mod, yes it is the wall for you.I still dont recommend modding, it can corrupt your save and makes game unstable and laggy
Hot take:
The most creative Corvette builders are those who don't use any mods, glitches, offsetting or rotating. Because the more tools you're using the easier you're making it. You're removing barriers.
But people who don't use any of these tricks are still creating gorgeous Corvettes while working completely within the barriers and mechanics of the vanilla game. They're not just allowed to break all the walls and bypass all the restrictions. They have to work within the confines of those walls and restrictions to create something nice.
It's the same with Base building.
I agree, people who know how to build really good without insane modding and glitch building, and building within game barriers, they are the best builders
looks like the only trick to that one is building with offsets
Though, there is a certain art to glitch building
The only glitch or trick that I'm seeing is the 90ยฐ rotate. It doesn't look like it's been offset or rotated 180 anywhere
Modding definitely takes away a lot of the difficulty, but knowing how to perform glitch techniques and which ones to use in this way or that without a video tutorial is very impressive

There are some really cool things you just can't do without some glitches, like making perfect circles or low orbit bases
I do with bases just need to figure out the merge there's two slopes on that one
I don't think low orbit bases really are much of a glitch. It's just somebody realizing that your base doesn't have to be attached to the ground anywhere.
there is 100 part limit for a reason, people often make insanely large corvettes that ruin multiplayer experience for other players.it can be really bad if you go into anomally lobby with giant executor

This is the biggest factor. You can be the best Corvette builder in the world but if you're knowingly impacting other people around you you're just a schmuck
You can make some awesome things with mods but please don't take them to the anomaly in multiplayer if they're huge ๐ญ๐
maybe devs will just make your Corvette not render if it's over a certain threshold
People who take those into the anomaly will tell you that it's mostly just decorative parts. So it doesn't really mess up anybody's game. And it's just fine.

thats exactly why I have a problem with those corvettes
And thats why i play offline since corvettes update.
Like maybe if your Corvette has over 150 structural parts and/or over like 500 deco parts or smth and you go to the anomaly the game just won't render it on their screens or it will disable your multiplayer
not sure how many deco parts is laggy

The worst part about it is that guy's ship is one I've already seen three or four times before.
They're literally just ordering a modded Vette from the service bot and standing next to it in the anomaly for aura

This stuff came over time. It slowly happened as the game grew in popularity and usage. But allowing those things from day one is usually not a healthy start for a game
It's why Devs cut off mod support in sequels even though the first game had it. And don't release mod support till later down the road.
I honestly don't think LNF will ever reach the popularity of No Man's SKy. Everything about the game and it's release has been niche and unique to any other game.
The disastrous launch is what created such strong loyalty. Dedicated people who stuck with it all those years.
It's crazy to think of but if no man's Sky had come out polished I don't think it would have had the longevity it's had.

Imagine trying to put a stick between two exact spokes where you want it to be while it's spinning. That's the Devs updating this game.
P like people want proper water physics. Water generation points and flowing rivers. But to do that they would need to create water sources.
You'd have water generating from the middle of the sky if they did that ๐
You are a space explorer venturing into uncharted space, finding things never before seen. It's to be expected that something ought to go wrong along the way
they could stop releasing a new updates for a while and focus on repairing glitches

can't decide which ass, the first one has less thrusters but the issue is "beams" come out of nowhere. second one i added thrusters so beams come out the right way. (also added fat kino thrusters to keep them inline)
profile looks a bit more industrial, gritty looking
Those extra beams is because you used a thruster somewhere inside the structure, cant turn those off
Seeing the 3rd picture its the landing gear, that type counts both as landing gear and side thrusters
Might want to move them out so you know where the beams comes or replace them
yeah that's the issue, that's why added the square on the backk so they "line up" with the truster

I revamped that thing though. It now has six phase beams, three medusa, three zenith and the three boosters. Better hidden

The forward boosters get it headlights
i'm sort of leaning towards the extra boosters for now
gives it a more industrial look

Our ships have a maximum visual speed that they travel at in space and on planets. Past that the numbers in our cockpit are just flavor text
Now thats a recipie for summoning a singularity (concidering those engines are for hypertube range)

Well that red one is the hanging tapestry. It's just hard to hang unless you have something behind it. The carpets are just another option so you don't have to use just the one tapestry visual

Are phase beams still additive up to six?
note that reactors are each considered a separate type of part while thrusters are all a single type of part
phase beams are weird in that they fire from up to 6 weapon points on the corvette
so all 6 don't need to be phase beams
So you can have three Medusa and three of something else
but they still fire from all of them

the cockpit counts as a medusa reactor so it depends on which three you apply first
So three cyclotron and three phase beams will shoot six of each when toggled?
Those were the only weird additive ones on Corvette iirc
so if you want 3 medusa boosts, then install 3 medusa reactors before cockpit
the weapons will fire from all six, but the compounding effect will only manifest for phase beams which fires all six at the same time
I think the individual "bullets" of the cyclotron don't all come at the same time
unlike the plasma beam

Offsetting, rotating and manipulating where your snap points are allow you to jam a lot of stuff into small Corvettes easily
some people glitch them together and hide the mess in a structural plating part

I do glitch two pairs of reactors together, but that's it. I'm afraid of an update destroying my corvette. Such a thing might convince me to stop playing altogether
Those blue lights are the corners of zenith hyperdrive reactors. There's three of them in that exact spot. One facing forward, when facing backwards and one out of 90ยฐ angle to the left.
I offset 2 wing pieces and 2 aerofoil looking pieces so they center better, and I use the temporary snap point technique/glitch to build above the landing bay
That's my current setup. I've got a Medusa glitched into the tube rotating one, and two of those on each side. Which I now realize is excessive for what it gives you

I have 8 thrusters also for the looks (since only 3 count)
My ship is wide, so it looks kinda off with only three thrusters
I don't really like the ceto reactors because they're so huge and also because spamming sodium means I don't really need extra shield strength. I have one of those ion shields, but it's for the looks although I do have to contend with the tech part
come to think of it, all the shield parts (including ceto reactors) are eyesores to my mind
If the ion shield I had didn't merge itself into nearby parts, I'd probably do without. As it is, it does add a nice bit of roundness

Here's a quick lesson on building your corvette vertically. Shout out to u/Bjorkledorq, The first person i could find that posted a guide.
Those four right there will expand your build capabilities well beyond what you're already doing.
Suggest just doing the offsetting and 180 turns for now. Once you get the hang of those start doing your 90ยฐ and verticals
Every ship I build I always start with the same hab glitch ship build to begin. Even if I don't end up doing anything with it.
I set up 4 offset hab floating above my build before I start. With a 180 in the middle. If I need any of those angles I just build it down into the ship.
Then I have a 90ยฐ, rotated 90ยฐ and an offset 90ยฐ over to the side in case I need those.
And I think it's dumb we have to do stuff like that. We should just be able to move pieces where we want them

Yeah, your ship is really cool. I would not mess with anything major; but, if you are itching to do some more fiddling with it, a few cosmetic additions to customize it would be a good way to go.
Lights, numbers, letters, decals, etc... There must be dozens of things you could do without needing toi rebuild your corvette. I look forward to version 3.0. ๐

Stairs are all I've seen, I spent 10 minutes trying to find ladders

Openings are generated automatically between habs, but there are no doors or openings you can place manually.
I saw a video of someone using a glitch to have an open space, but the corvette was really thick. Used the titan landing pad for it

Even though it's a copy of YouTube, what you do with it after makes it your own. There were multiple X-wing fighters, multiple Enterprise-class ships, and multiple factory-produced ships out there. But every captain has a way of making it their own vessel

I suck at the designing part of the ship, but im good at small details
Fair enough. I always add the windows after I finalize so it doesn't count towards that max. Adding after the corvette is finalilzed doesn't do anything unless you go into the corvette builder. And then everything attached (including base parts) count towards it

I redid a ship design I still like, so the ramp is much closer to the ground and also wonโt require a ton of stairs. I may still remove the top bit, as itโs just decorative and obstructs the 3rd person view. Last image is the sketch I made of this design (minor tweaks while building it)

I'm really enjoying building ships. Part of me enjoys the grind and seeing my build evolve as I get find new parts. The other parts wants to say 'screw it!' and just go into creative mode.

I do too, because I like the smaller corvettes. I have two habs stacked on top of each other. My only wish is that the cargo fixture was smaller and we had ladders that could be flush to the walls.
Oh and we could actually sit/lay on the beds and the little seat at the kitchen.
Big Corvettes are fun to build. Minivettes are a lifestyle choice.

No it's all preset based on which weapons you have

Had to break reactor adjacency to get it under 4k. But it controls a lot better now
Maybe 4k+ maneuverability is good for big corvettes. But it makes small ones jittery

Complexity, yes. Size-wise? Surprisingly, no.
i messed around with the base builder app but the challenge of having limited parts is kinda fun. Perhaps 200 would be the sweet spot ๐
although, so many weird blocks to make smooth diagonals could be replaced altogether in designs if inner pyramid blocks were added, so even with a 100 block limit that small change would make an incredible difference.
I hate being restricted by part limits. Size, sure. I'll build the occasional ship that's within the confines, or close enough that you could glitch it. But I love accessorizing too much.

The part limit can be quite restrictive if you want to make big corvettes, which is why mods like the base builder mod are great
But some limits should be enforced when it comes to multiplayer/the anomaly because some of these corvettes are basically flying zip bombs ๐ญ ๐

I agree. Every time I tried incorporating any of the atlas parts they took over the entire design. Iโm sure there has to be a more creative way to use them but I havenโt found it yet.
Also the inability to change their color means youโre likely going to have to lean into the red and black scheme to make it look decent.

Red and black is love. 99% of my corvettes rock that look. Only my ugly yacht is a different color.

It's ugly as sin, but the atlas parts were limited to mostly cosmetic use on my yacht. I used them as like a canopy for the sides, nose pieces, a decorative piece at the rear, and a radar dish looking thing.
the parts are really loud so its easy to make them stand out. i mostly do fighter/jet shaped corvettes and this one has a bunch of atlas parts that make up the edges

With vertical building use the titan ramp. It's easier than it looks and when you do it once you will figure out how to tweak it.
I saw the stairs one for getting some stuff reversed, and ive been using the small vents and big rotor thing pretty well

You can't as far as i currently know the best you can do is just go to a differnt system and see what it gives you that's pretty much how it chnages
Its a certain number of missions, but what the mission is can change

If youre talking about on freighters and frigates, those fire from stationary positions
cant be that hard to make the fire
npc freighters have a slow moving round turret on them
even the setinal large ships final boss has a a few round rotatting turrets
And freighters arent moving during combat

That system likely wont work as well when both the targets location, the turret's location, and their location relative to each other, is changing
I do think it would be a cool feature, but I dont think its as easy as copy-pasting some code

Not yet, and I think theyd want to work in multiplayer firing first, which could help work out the bugs an auto-turret firing would have
This is the first time the game is really working with movable base stuff like this

It still kinda does, but theyre probably just due to how either corvettes or the game engine itself functions
To this the mission board is reflective of the anomaly board. So when you see a quicksilver mission to scan fauna someone in the anamoly sees that too.
When they start that mission the next one loads up. Your board changes too.
Missions are shared like that?
Hence why it's 3 missions per day no matter if you start them from Corvette or anamoly. Not 3 from Corvette and 3 from anamoly.

Yeah. It was just put there as a short cut so you and friends can do your Quicksilver mission without going to the anamoly
I think ive seen the corvette missions show different options than the nexus missions
It would be hard to see that
Because you can't load up your mission board in the anomaly
So by the time you looked at one on your board, went in to anamoly and made it to the terminal it's likely rotated to a new one
If it seems like it's rotating out slow you can probably go and see few in the anamoly. Less busy there....less rotations of quests
I just never had someone join FROM the anamoly while starting from corvette though. I think it's only those in your system or current game who can.

With glitches, you can do a pretty solid star destroyer type ship
With regular parts and not just cosmetic parts.
Granted I took some creative liberties, this was my second go at it.

My phase beams turn my minivette into a light saber when they fire off....
i mean yes phase beams do work all at once, but photon turrets dont :x

can we make the doorways open in habitats? im making a ship and it uses offset habs but i still want it to be walkable
if the habs dont connect end to end or side to side, they arent traversible.
