No glitch on the cockpit. But it has some glitches on the under side to place a reactor, thruster and landing gear.

These industrial windows make nice bridge canopy
Rotation and offset glitches do add a lot, tbh. They give you a lot more room for some creative builds. I do keep it at a minimum, though.
I woud argue that offset isn't glitch as game seems treat it correctly

Terare partswhich are designed to fit togetehr with 2-ti-1 or 3-to-2 shift, so I dunno. Also Arkadia is an offset buld

I did offset glitching on the trailer of my ship, cramming 3 Medusa reactors and the warp boost reactor inside the space of half a hab.
I shouldn't be allowed to do that.

I think it's kind of half and half. The method behind offsetting and rotating isn't really a glitch. But slamming stuff together unintentionally is
they actually fit with maglev gear.. and you can overlap them with cetoreactor..

That's two Titan boosters, three medusas, a shield generator and a wrap core all in a 7x2 space
yeah.. my ship got a bunch of reactos stuffed into1 hub sapce and a cowling there too 😛
Like you can mesh the Titan and Thunderbird boosters together if you connect them left and right offset

weird when i put three medusa reactors in my maneuverability does go up in the in the corvette builder but i lose those points and the extra reactor when i check the ship outside of it; might be a bug to report

Is the corvette's yaw radius the center of the build pad on the build or the center of the actual build length front to back?

Hey, so I'm like very very new to the game so I ain't really sure if I'm even asking the right thing, but is there a decent way to just get a fair bit of corvette parts relatively easily early? I'm not talking about just buying the default stuff, rather anything else that ain't there - if there's a set or two that I could reasonably complete.

You could change your settings to make Crafting = Free to have access to all parts unlimited .. if you wanted

Granted, 90% of crafting stuff is not really the most substantial out there, even for someone like me who is quite new to the genre all in all except like, Minecraft, but yeah
If you want to experience the game enough, do the main story first, then bother with Corvette building.

Anyone have any tips on making this hunk of metal more powerful? It’s build for looks but I want it as my all around flyer. I’m looking aplenty when it comes to modding and all that and I haven’t explored it to much on the corvette yet
working on my most micro build yet. double merges, got reactor, landing gear, infra knife, and thrusters all jammed under 1 walkway and the cockpit with nothing obstructing the hab or cockpit
i was able to rearrange and re-merge parts for a cleaner look and even had room for a 2nd infra knife
Nice. I had one kinda like that at some point. More of a streamlined underside at the expense of sitting a bit higher when landed.
what should i add/remove/change?
It's absolutely up to you, but I'd probably change the bridge layout, it's too straight

so as i was deleting parts off my ship they are gone, i do not see them in my exosuit and i don't see them in my parts storage

When you're back from the expedition go to the Anomaly and claim them for the quicksilver vendor also you have to craft them from pugneum, salvaged glass, and silver.

Get all the figurines with quick silver and use adjacent technology supercharged slots. I only use corvettes that have 4 of them and preferably in as close to a square and next to each other as you can get

I'll try at one point making a Space Battleship Yamato-ish Corvette.
Well I don't know how good a suggestion this is, and I don't know what you use the 'bridge' for (and where your actual command seat is), but I would have tried to make that entire deck rotated 90 degrees. Reason being, it would be the "side" windows facing forward, which have extended corners allowing for a more interesting look. You could also use the rear of the deck for functional modules. One major downside, you'd have to include the Thunderbird access lift on that upper deck somewhere, to allow it to link to the deck below.
So the interstellar armed exploration destroyer "Lady Arien", class "Lady Cass III".

Looking great, but that ambassador cockpit does look out of place. Great use of the wing parts for framing the rockhopper propellers. Could use something like an observation deck that isn't open to space though.
I imagine that observation deck is under the force field that saves us from space 😄

Have you tried offsetting it into something prettier? The FP view is situated in the forward bubble, so you can do something weird like half-offset it into a hab and place a window in front.
The issue with maglevs is this 90 angle and no proper part to make it less obvious.
imo this looks even worse, so I'm still thinking about this or just slapping back the thunderbird.

I found it's best to deal with the landing gear by halfgridding something overtop. Works with both regular and maglev.
The maglev can't, so it's best to offset other things around it.
A turbine cowling eats a maglev pretty well.
And if radiator vents are not on "hard place" they are rotates to the other side...
Longshore just makes it invisible xD
But then the belly is just too big
So my best solution for now is this.
radiation vents around.
And with arcadia aerofoil it's not visible at all.
Hm, you could try some of the half-pieces. Like the engine cowling. You'd need to half-offset them sideways so they meet in the middle and form a single-grid-wide mesh.

Is it possible to make a corvette with a ramp connected directly to cockpit without any hab modules using glitch building or any other way?
Yeah, Shadow Death was better before the transformation. But I mean the turrets on a rails - that's what bought me with my guts.
That's why I said personally, heh. I like that look. It's not like it's seamless even with the cowlings.
It looks much edgier to a point where I'm not a big fan of it.
Endless Orbit SSX Arcadia is awesome.
I dislike the surface of the cowling visible on the inside of the thruster, more than the angled outcropping on the side.
Removed the radar dome, not really liked it in this position.
The fin looks better imo

It's kinda fun that in the end I'm achieving better look on a bigger ship with the same amount of parts.
What you need, is to take the whole ship apart and rebuild it at a half-grid offset to the landing gear so that the cowlings are only inset halfway. :P
Also that wing > hopper < wing is my favorite part probably.
The'll mess with the hubs probably.
And this thick belly still adds some charm prob.
What I thought is to add the same "cowling" over the cockpit, but not the best idea prob. Now I'm thinking about "how to squeeze one more entrance closer to the cockpit".
or just give up and fly as is. I used to have a ramp right under the cockpit, but it looks awful from the top

The sideways access ramps were my most successful use of rotated parts so far.
Funnily enough, nothing breaks if your only access ramps are sideways. The ship will correctly swing around broadside and land with the ramp facing you when you call it.

Yeah, having white as the secondary color might work. But it's a bit weird if you mix the standard parts
Outside of the frigate
There is a way to make bigger rooms so you can make a "Bridge", but unfortunately you wouldnt be able to use it as one
You can stick them on the sides of habs, at least the aeron shields, and then cover them with a cowling
Or just cover the base.
I quite like keeping them visible because they are animated. You could look at recessing them but keep them visible like i did
The aeron thrusters make for good cowlings.
I do wonder if they would bring out some Autophage corvette parts in future

Is there a pattern to which teleporter button you will return to? I made a small squadron of tie fighters and i never return to my main cabin.
You always return to the same one, whichever is placed last I believe.

A Reaper style corvette is never going to work because even if you somehow got the look perfect, The reapers were larger than skycrapers. A corvette is never going to get close to that...it would only look like a ridiculous miniature.

We work with what we have, that applies for all ships, be it SW Death Stars or anything really. If the scale is fine, size is secondary I'd say

Yeah, no. Small replicas of things that are enormous don't work. Having a would be death star dock on the anomaly or land on a planet..yeah, that's just not going work right.

None of those work, except maybe the Normandy SR1 which is small-ish all things considered. But Normandy SR2 is larger than corvettes can be. Stuff like the Death Star, Enterprise, etc. are colossal...having look alikes docked on the anomaly is ridiculous because those things are vastly larger than the anomaly itself...it's be like stuffing a large frigde in your wallet...it wouldn't work.
There were images floating around, someone made a corvette that looked like an Executor-Class Star-Destroyer and it's like bro, that thing is supposed to be 19 kilometers long. A corvette looking like it just doesn't work.

You salvage em
Planets with salvageable scraps. Fly over them on basic corvette, leave the pilot sit, mark the scrap, shoot it with guns (cyclotron ballista is the best - large aoe). Leave again (do not land!), find next scrap, repeat.

I removed, then placed the one I wanted to use. Several times and ways, that never worked. Trying the other way around...
Keep in mind changes aren't saved unless they're saved. You need to remove the one you want to use, save, start editing again, then place the one you want to use and save.

Yeah that's what i meant. Removed, saved, added, saved. Tested, teleported into the same place i was before... Trying again but removing the other ones, then I'll see what order i need to use.
Okay, I removed them all. Then placed the one I wanted to use only. Saved tested, nothing else to teleport to so not an unexpected result. Now added the next one, tested teleported to the original one, so far so good. Two more to place, then we will know how it works for sure.

Is there some secret stat with the cockpit? If I have two medusa reactors surrounding the cockpit (in the tech slots), I get better maneuverability than if I have three medusa reactors in line even though the percentage numbers seem lower.

I upgraded it mainly from discoveries tho in a few days. O.o Fully map a planet's fauna gives decent amount 🙂

the only difference is that i have medusa-cockpit-medusa vs medusa-medusa-medusa. Everything else is the same
it's an apples-to-apples comparison
so go and edit your ship
depending on which order you place reactors in, it can change stats
not sure if that^ is a bug or not, but it's something I noticved placing shields especially
experiment with a different placement order, so maybe cockpit > medusa, or medusa > cockpit
sure, the difference is between whether I put on that third medusa reactor before or after the cockpit. It doesn't make sense

probably mix of a bug a fuinctional featuyre, causing it to be funny
also I would recommend buying S class pulse engine tech until you get sdome high manouverability stats

So "Lady Arien", 3rd refit. Class "Lady Cass III", long-range multi-mission destroyer/corvette.
Decided that not hiding the landing gear is less sacrifice than huge belly.
Propulsion - Kineostream III engine (aka 3 engines stacked in a row).
Energy plant - x3 mk3 Medusa, Zenith and Azimuth class reactors (aka 3 of each stacked).
Weapon systems - 4x phase beam cannons.
Looks nice

Yes, there is a terminal on the space station in each system, it lets you upgrade the rank of your ship (including corvettes) for a bunch of nanites.

Cause when I went to one of these it just didn't show anything when I wanted to scrap a Corvette.
So I was like "guess nothing works on em".
Can't scrap corvettes. To get rid of them you got to strip them down of non essentials, trade it to an NCP for theirs and then scrap that for units
Or if you plan on building a new corvette and don't care much for the money, just skip the selling step and go straight to making a new corvette. When you finalize the new corvette it'll give you the option of swapping your old corvette for the new one.
Hey space explorers, Q about tech modules. In my current Corvette build I have Azimuth-Class reactor installed, this one among other features, has Auto Recharging functionality enabled. So then I really don't need to install the dedicated Launch Auto Charger module, that does the same thing, thus freeing one tech slot. Is my reasoning correct?

Done that with my like 2 or 3 times.
You could probably glitch it if you can find a nearby spot that it can be placed and quickly switch from the eligible location to that one and hit build a split-second after you move the piece.
This is my new favorite legal microship design. It just looks like an angry techno-beetle. :D

Yeah, you're kinda screwed then. If you can't reach that portal or anything else to force your body out of that spot, you're only other option would be editing your save to put you somewhere else.

Are you physically in an unreachable space? Try going into build mode, switching to editing your base, and turning on the build camera. If you can navigate it to near your location, you can attempt to build a teleport terminus and use it to 'port out to a station.

It depends on the modules as you can't still remove the photon cannon and anything that makes up the actual ship can't be remove outside of the builder

if you're able to do the breach expedition on switch 2 then yes; Switch 2 us currently on version 6.10.0 154242 (4196) so it should work but i would see if any fellow switch 2 users can chime in

I know the short range teleporters don't work atm, but have they ever said if they planned to make them work or not by chance?
So I move the teleport outside of the main base body and teleported there with the corvette. I guess, workaround successfull.

agree, you can make something cool with what the game allows you to use, I think glitch building is more for getting specific looks or when you try to copy a starship from other game/movie
The fact that they are playable shows that they want them to be on corvettes. I just don't think they can get them to work without causing problems.
The fact you can get pulled out of your Corvette during pulse drive while using the stairs suggests the teleporter would likely throw you the same.
When you're pulsing in a Corvette while wearing a cape you can see it wildly kicking around. As if it's trying to yank you out just standing there 😂

I think most of us just want the Z axis in building as a vanilla option.
The fact that these options are possible, rather says that they were planned to be added.
But either were cut to make the add-on faster, or were cancelled due to some other reason.
Or planned to be implemented in the future.
Basically the things you can do requiring additional steps rather than just "Place and colour," is a glitch yes
I still have screen shots of when 3 modules where missing and two of those have been filled in with the latest Expedition; The cargo box has not so my theory is there might be a third Corvette expedition maybe but that's entirely a guess at this point

I copied over my favorite corvette to and from the expedition - now I have an extra one to play around with with the new parts 😃
I would do that but once i finish the expedition on my survival save i plan to go back to rolling for a 4 sc slot corvette and see if i can figure out anything that would help or if it's truly rng
some really cool new pieces to build with. Can't wait till I find all of them. Not sure if they are all randomly available from the space debris ship or if some are only from planet salvage sites. I have been doing a lot of both.

Yeah, that's why I want HG to revamp the building UI so that glitches are vanilla options.
The Aeron / Atlas parts are only craftable just like the deadeye cannon; once you have the blueprints from the expedition and have claimed them at the Quicksilver stand at the anomaly, you just have to use sentinel materials + silver to craft them.

Question, I am trying to edit my corvette, but each time I "delete" an item off my ship, it disappears.... does not go into my inventory, freighter, ship or workshop cache. Is this a bug or a "feature"?

I did find a great X Hyperdrive modules tonight that was 316ly / 100%
from what i know the Medusa Reactors work with the corvette cockpit to boost maneuverability someone pointed out that it's bugged to only two besides more pulse engines mods. If you have all 60 tech slots unlocked you could boost it more i bet

nope but if you have a teleporter on your base move it away from the main area as it spawns at that for now and moving it helps from what some people on here report

U can’t it’s not actually the interior it’s sitting on top of habs and then covered in by more habs u can make doors on the floor in out by using titan class landing bay specifically and go up into it from the bottom using a stair case

if you learn how to offset parts, it opens up what you can do with them
You build a basic ship then you build a better ship and change something different and succeed or fail; you try again and keep trying and failing until you're happy with it
I noticed that corvette interior tech modules change appearance based on which HAB they're installed on, which is super awesome.

The corvette building system in this game is, thankfully, a broken mess. The corvettes are technically flying bases, with some restrictions applied.
This has led to the emergence of a number of building techniques, leveraging various glitches in the system to achieve things otherwise impossible. There is also the decoration system, which allows placing various items around the corvette freely, and is used extensively by some of the bigger and flashier builds.

Yes
The simplest technique is the offset build, which is one of two ways to shift the placement grid in half-grid increments.
One involves a structural block (like a girder) and a decorative item (like an intake vent). Attaching the decorative to the front, back, left, or right of the block, then allows another block to be placed on the top or bottom of the decorative. This results in a simultaneous offset by a half-grid up or down, and to one of the four sides. This is called a diagonal offset.
The second involves any hab block, and the Rockhopper Propeller. The Rockhopper, when rotated to its right side, has a bug that makes it placeable in half-grid increments. You can attach the Rockhopper at a half-grid offset forward or back, then reattach the hab block to the propeller. This is called the linear offset.
Combined together, these two methods allow building at half-grid resolution. Parts on the regular grid and the half-grid don't obstruct each other's placement, allowing neat overlapping of parts and builds that look otherwise impossible.

There's also a somewhat dangerous thing called forced placement, which is sometimes important when using offset building. Basically sometimes the grids really don't like intersecting, and certain parts that ought to fit together, don't want to snap into place. The snap points exist, there's space, but the part refuses to fit into a particular place at a particular orientation, just briefly sticks in place and immediately moves away.
You can force the part to stick, if you precisely time a left-click immediately after rotating or flipping the part into position. This only works if the part at least attempts to snap into position, and is prevented from doing so by overlap shenanigans.
The danger comes from it being possible to misclick items out of bounds, getting them lodged in weird places like under the floor, which may require you to redo the whole build since the last time you saved it.

You'll need to perform a manuever to get the parts to line up but yes

Has anyone tested this? When building blocks in front of the cockpit, do they simply disappear when flying in first person or are they still visible?
I also have a suspicion that the size of the ship is also not taken into account when flying in first person
Normally I think you do see what's in front of the cockpit.
I used to have turrets right in front of it and I saw them when flying.

-have an empty hab
-Free-place a bed module thing along the front of the hab wall, not along the presnap positions. As straight/flat and as close to the wall as possible without it rising up slightly on the edge
-juno into corvette edit mode and then snap a hab to the bed module thing, you'll know you've done it right when you see it rotate before snapping
Will take some fiddling with to get it perfectly symmetrical and level with everything, but well worth it.

I use the bed thing because it's easier than using stairs IMO, since it starts out facing the way you need it, whichever way you're looking

HOWEVER, The nickname given to it was inspired off the BF1 behemoths like the armored train or dreanoughts. So I'm thinking of making my ship look a bit more like a sort of battleship rather than the round look it's got rn lol
