You can save the design without "Completing Modifications" until you are satisfied

Problem i see is if people want to show them off in game they take an eternity to render in.

About the max size than you can build before the game starts behaving reeally weird with the parts, around 6 habs i think?

The main problem I see is for those playing multiplayer, Anomaly Station is allegedly the hub for players to gather together and these massive corvette creates headaches there.
Other than that, your hardware is the limit, I saw a dude on PC building base dome so big you can see it from space.

This is my first one, not pretty but fun, its manoeuv is better than my sentinel ship, cyclotron pdp is 47k and photon cannon is 12k pdp , no glitches used

some folks use save editor to make their weapons strong so no shield needed, I do not like hack, I am planning this game vanilla

Each reactor type stacks to 3, so you can have 12 reactors i total, medusea are a little special since they count the cockpit. You will have to crowd out the cockpit if you want 3 medusas

Creative allows you to do a bunch of stuff that would otherwise requires you to have/buy things, so I would assume that everything else works differently

Normal mode, you get what you worked for, a good balance between fun and work to receive reward.
creative mode is free for all, survival mode makes everything harder.

how do i get more tech slots? Add more core parts or upgrade class?
there's a way to get additional tech slots on corvettes almost free: take off the functional corvette modules (guns, reactors, etc), fully fill up the tech slots with random other modules, put the functional corvette modules back to get extra slots, repeat as much as you want. this will add slots until the max allowed (determined by class) if this feels cheaty do the standard of either using starship inventory expanders or paying units to add slots
upgrading class does affect max tech (and cargo) slot count so do that too if you havent

I'm curious, how many Habs do people put on their Corvettes? I've been looking at a bunch of them, trying to decide how I want to build my ship, but it almost likes like they only could fit 1 hab if even that x.x
I got 5 on mine, of which I use 3, but that's the expd special. When I get around to a reasonable build on a regular save, it's going to be a lot more than that
I want a lot of interior spaces for crew and passengers, see
mine uses 6 habs and 4 walkways and is like 96 parts total
Yea, while I've done some of the Expeditions, I'm still super early into my normal save x.x I want my ship to look good and be functional since I don't have a base set up yet.
3x Habs for stats
3-5 is a pretty good start for a mission focused ship; I have a 1 hab corvette that i have half habs in that i can put modules in
My VCX-100 copy only has 2x Habs and 7x Walkways, but good enough to have 6x Storage and other internal designs
the only reason it's not one habitat tbh is because I'm using this ship to bring parts back to the main save (again). although this is less of a frankenship and more of a "let's make it not be a huge eyesore but have a number of the good parts"
It's fun seeing the difference between my original build vs. the current one
Also the fact that it went from 10x habs to only 2x on the newer one

never going through that again

things start getting messy in the UI though
the round and square ocean habs work great for mixed builds as a large living room to decorate and chill - if they add 2x2 habs it won't be as needed (and if they had just added doors to habs to the outside or even short range teleports it opens up a world of possibilities)

My corvette 2.0 turned better than I hoped, and I solved a major problem that was driving me mad: Leaving the corvette was taking forever.
I added a second exit behind the cockpit, boy, life is so much better now ๐คฃ
I had to ditched one of the engine from the expedition and replace it with bigger ambassador one, now I am happy with it 
It's surprising to me what some people can build

You just have to start slowly, for my corvette I have one single rule: No glitch allowed, build as it is!!
My first one, the front looked dogshit so I had to basically rework the whole front while finding better way to accommodate 7 reactors
I could make it look nicer but I don't wanna get into glitch, as it is I already have to remove parts to move another one otherwise the game won't let me.
You know what is really weird about those new pieces.. you canโt seem to snap cowling UNDER them for whatever reason

do you people also get a bug where corvette is not navigable after loading game? Have to either resummon it or sit into pilot's seat. It's as if collision mesh is borked. did saw it before this patch, but I might have been lucky.
The only annoying bug is being unable to teleport to my base, I got stuck under it and the teleport unable to move, so before teleporting to bases, I am swapping to my sentinel.
That is the only bug I noticed.

I stated build teleportes on open towers. Doesn' t help with SOME configuration of corvettes.. it seems aims with point btween bay and cockpit

I had the cockpit on the second level which required stairs which is meh, I could not for the life of me link both teleport

I hide my reactors between a heavy linkage and thruster
Though I solely use the stock single thruster, so how it looks will vary on the others

saddest decision I have made yet.. took out two habs that would have been storage because it made the ship too long.. heh
I made sure my reactors don't stand out too much, I got 2 madusa on my main which I used them for spots to put my shield parts, I also have a visible Azimuth on top which is the only one that stands out.
Did they broke rockhoppers? Now it's not possibe ot offset hab only vertically or horizontally

Is it easier to rotate hubs 45/90 degrees, or rotate insta 180?
And I guess I can fit like 8-9 reactors total or into space of 2 hubs

depends on the idea, if you somehow find a way with bigger parts (modded ofc) it can be less if you want to be more intricate with lots of smaller parts it can be more. Both I havent find a way to get the right shape

Speaking of which, my 4x SC Positron Ejector with the extra 3x turret is pretty good
Doesn't have the godly 100k+ DPS of the IK, but its kit (mining asteroids and resources, autoaim arc, CAS capability) is pretty fun
Only has 63k DPS, but it deletes Sentinel crafts in 2 bursts

I think what's better than a pre-built giant gun is being able to customize your own Corvette cruiser railgun.
Using various decorations I've seen some pretty sick builds out there that makes ships look like a giant death ray.
Search this thread for the word RAILGUN and then look in the media tab

but phase beams on the other hand...
if you place 6 of em, they do bullshit amounts of damage
i think its a bug, so it might be patched later, but that bug has survived 1 update so...
anyway, place em close to each other or do some glitching to stack em
By themselves phase beams are just fine. But in multiples and stacked properly they are broken and OP as hell

And nerfing phase beams overall would impact the major majority of players who don't know that trick

Infraknifes on corvettes are mega busted too

The targeting wise phasers can be janky. The infra knife is a more reliable hitter when dog fighting
