it's like a Standler Flirt, a Budd Metroliner, a Dutch Koploper, a WMATA subway car, and an Alco locomotive had a fucked up child

the idea behind these central diesel locomotives was to replace them with an electric locomotive at a later date, so I could also replace the loco in the middle with something based on the 86 class tri-bo to make it electric?

from what I've found, the SA government has tentative plans to gauge convert the Adelaide suburban network (with dual-gauge sleepers going in) and the 4000 class bogies are capable of being converted

theres a lot to get through if you want to binge all of it; ghost in the shell (1995) and ghost in the shell innocence are one whole package, stand alone complex, 2nd gig, solid state society are another, 2045 does not exist, and Arise is a seperate reboot that ran for a bit. The current 2026 science saru reboot is following the original manga a lot more closely. Mamoru Oshii's two movies are tonally very very different from the manga and also from any of the anime series'. Stand alone complex brings a bit light heartedness back into it but the major is still a lot more dark and brooding (moreso in 2nd gig). 2045 as previously stated does not exist and never happened. And Arise is a bit of a different kettle of fish.

Yeah, stand alone complex and 2nd gig are 26ish episodes each, solid state society is an OVA that goes after those two.

Arise is weird, its available as either four/five OVA's or a 12 episode series. It's a bit disjointed/badly edited, watch both tbh there's bits you'll miss in one and pick up on in the other.

the original mamoru oshii movies are a weird one, there's the 1995 movie, ghost in the shell 2.0 which is just the 1995 movie with the CGI bits redone in Ghost in the Shell Innocence's cgi style. Innocence is a very different tone visually and thematically to the original ghost in the shell movie but it is the same continuity.

and the science saru reboot is only three epsiodes in at the moment, it's streaming on prime atm. The english dubbings of all the previous ones are pretty good, if anything there's plot points that are explained better in the dub than the sub, but for the 2026 reboot the english dub is... not great.

Really, truly understanding this stuff is probably a hint that you need to go speak to a shrink yourself. For everyone else all I ask is they don't throw rocks at me.

The thing that causes the most amount of anxiety, and thus all the associated awkwardness or straight up abuse, is not knowing how to deal with you.

one thing I couldn't nail was the running, later found out my fleet were so flat I'd never get into the army anyway (apparently could have gotten an exemption for some communications stuff which was what I was after), and I then found out I pretty much had rheumatoid arthritis, then started stacking on the weight.

but yeah, basically got to a point I was eating for comfort which that + depression doesn't much help

but about six months before I got the job in brissie (though I knew the job was coming) I decided to do something about it and got on ozempic/wegovy. Which has pretty much insta-killed my binge eating.

but getting a new better job and moving to the other side of the country has also helped considerably.
