Quick update on the mobile app issues. My friend did a 2 hour live stream last night. Overlays are working on stream but chat and alerts are not showing up in app at all. Most widgets for overlays like subscriber count etc are not showing correct totals just 0.
We really like the app though, quality is really good but we have to use 2 phones to read chat and alerts currently somce they dont work in the app.
I tested this on my channel getting same behaviours

I am sorry, I am not that familiar with the mobile streams. You can try to clear the cache of the application, but that requires a restart of the stream I think.

After you enabled it, the watchtime will start working, so I think every 10 min the watchtime will be updated next to the points.

10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly. There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points. It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time. Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

That's unfortunately a limitation from YouTube. We have to poll for new chat messages (check every so often to see if there are new messages) as opposed to new messages being passed to us automatically using IRC (Twitch). If we check too frequently YouTube will stop sending us chat completely.

You can copy widgets by selecting them in the editor in the layers and select the two papers with the small red dot above the layers.

Hi there! First time posting.
I want to mention an issue with using the app.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a Note 8. I have the app on both for notifications and chat whilst streaming to Twitch.
I use the app in companion mode as I stream from a gunrun backpack type setup. I use the app for chat, notifications, TTS, media share.
I have "always on top" permissions allowed for Stream Elements and have turned off FB messenger from being "always on top".
However I'm having issues with keeping chat. Sometimes if I move the selfie stick wrong I might accidentally hit the home, multi-window buttons or back buttons. If this happens I lose chat. If I've accidentally hit the back button it will exit the app completely and I also lose previous messages that I know have been received (from the corner of my eye),
With the Twitch app itself I do not have these issues of losing chat as much. I can have FB messenger running or anything else at the same time. If I go into FB messenger I still receive chat messages. If I accidentally press the back or home button, because the app still runs, I still receive chat messages and can see them when I go back into chat in the app.
Someone suggested I used Tchat in multiwindow with stream elements. Stream elements for notifications, and T chat for chat. I've been told this is what is possible with streamlabs. However I cannot use the Streamelements app in multiwindow either.
Therefore I'm faced with losing chat a lot with no real alternative option at this point. Is there a way to change any of my settings to circumnavigate these issues? It really bothers me to miss out on huge chunks of chat.

Made a highlight bc the clips wernt working. Hope this shows info for what i mean. I was talkingng the screenshot was the vid I saw for stats. I saw myself. I saw people messaging me. Nothing was muted, i was not tabbed out no calls came in or anything. Viewers couldn't see or hear me. That's about all the info i got. Rebooted my phone rebooted my router etc.

I have 2 problems
- i dont have the "smart stream" option in my Settings
2nd comes my stream at 720p not much over 1000 bitrate although 4000 are set in the app. My 4G connection is actually very stable and today in the middle of the city continues only to the 1k bit and laggs

Smart stream is not available for everyone.
There is a known issue with bitrates and a fix is being scheduled to come out soon, no ETA on when.
Also there is a possibility some ISPs cap bandwidth and we can't do anything about it.

Unfortunately, I still have a problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The stream is now also great. However, no alarms and also the Eventbox are displayed more. Then I deleted the old alerts from Mobile on the homepage and installed the app again. The ALerts were automatically rebuilt but are still not shown in the stream. What am I doing wrong?

@sinful trellis So devs came back and said that the android phone has its own TTS feature that can read chat, but it might not work with all emotes if used. Other side effect to this is - the stream will also here the voice

okay so i've been dipping my feet in the mobile app and i got to say i have some questions and wondering about some really wierd limitations i hope you can clearify :)
- Why are we limited to 4Mbit upload? Most places i would use this i have up to 60 Mbit (on celluar) available and this works fine with something like Larix Broadcaster (not the 60 but the higher upload in general).
- You show the title and game in the top of the menu but there is no way to change it from there, only through chat commands but it would be very easy to edit the current one if you added the function to the app.
- There seems to be no UVC support but I could be wrong? (more specific Cam Link 4K as i read it should support UVC, i dont need 4k stream, just some 1080p from DSLR but the support would be very nice to have)
- No RTMP server support? o.O This leaves out the app for streamers like me, who streams to their own RTMP server for distributing the stream to encoder PC at home and clean video feed recording on nginx server. (have i overlooked some setting here and the RTMP options is build in?)

UVC is the generic USB Video Controller standard that only requires generic driver and the New 4K Cam Link should support it but i don't see any way to choose it in the app, and the app should also support UVC else it wont work. The Cam Link 4K support UVC 1.1 (EDIT after Elgato confirmed UVC version)
but SUPER nice about 1 and 4 is getting a fix becuase that is what have kept me away from it for sooo long

@covert quarry sorry took a short nap, it crashes after loading and bringing up the camera. I can see what the camera sees for a few seconds, but then it abruptly cuts the whole phone to black and then the phone restarts. However I found a somewhat fix for this because at the time I wAs at around 35% battery so I plugged my phone in and it seemed to stop crashing so my geuss is it may be a power issue

I've just download your app, and it seems very cool, but I have a few questions for you.
1 - I've seen that a special overlay has just been created. I just modified it, but it doesn't seem to be working. When I do tests, it's a default alert that appears on screen. Is it a well known bug, or am I doing something wrong ?
2 - It seems that we can only stream verticaly and not horizontaly ? Is there any feature to unlock or is it not possible for now, as the app is still a beta version.
I hope my question are clear, if not, I'm available to explain more. I would like to test your app live in about 2 hours, but if I can't stream horizontaly (specialy to read the tchat easily) , I think I will wait untill this feature is available.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:
- Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
- Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
- Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
- When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.
Note that it can take some time after going live before the bot joins your chat.

nice with the update, but why are you still forcing a hard limit on bitrate, I just don't get it? o.O Cant we have another one called custom or just completely remove the dropdown and give us a bitrate field if we enable RTMP, because i get the limit when streaming directly to twitch, but not when using custom RTMP. I would want to stream at a higher bitrate than what twitch allows if i do stream to my own RTMP to mix it in to my encoder PC and then stream to twitch from there. Full HD at 6000 Kbit is not that great and really frustrating when i can run 4 times that bitrate without issues in other apps.

It would be really great if users could choose in the settings of the app themselves to have automatic server location via the phones location or to choose a server manually from a list for example. The same goes for the app wanting permission to manage the phone. I already got an answer there and it makes sense. But I thought we are living in a world which is changing very quickly and people might want to have some privacy left from all the data they have already given up. Just a suggestion. I want the ability for my viewers to send me media (music funny clips, funny sounds) as a donation on mobile. Its majorly requested and it enhances viewing experience. So just like I charge $2 minimum for text to speech media would be $3 just a $1 more in my case for the viewer to play a piece of media over my speaker @wispy birch

- Media donation which is not a feature to mobile only, but you would like to use it while streaming on mobile as well as OBS
- An error you see on the app

Hello, Im having trouble using microphone through Streamelements mobile app. I would really love to use it but I cant figure out how to make the mic go through. Im currently using RODE VideoMic Me, but the app is still capturing my built-in phone mic. Thank you for the help in advance! Its really imporant for me since Im going for a big trip in two weeks and I play IRL mobile streaming.

@vivid sleet Sorry for the delay on this. What have you tried so far? In general, we start with these three steps, checking if all's good after each one: Restart the app, then clear cache/data for app, then reinstall app.

@vivid sleet i have that exact mic here, it works in general on all android phones. Just make sure you use a proper adapter or it will be used as headphones 🙂

Same way. Edit the mobile overlay in your account.
You won't see the changes in the app, but they'll be visible on the stream itself.

@simple edge You can test Alerts via the bell on the lower right corner of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Show Emulated events on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/h6qgy

Is there a way to switch from desktop to mobile streaming seamlessly. Currently I click "stop streaming" on my computer, and then "start streaming" on my phone.

Not really. You would need to stream from one device. So you would stream from the PC, and for the mobile feed you would need to stream to an rtmp server, and add that as a source to the streaming PC, but the SE does not currently support streaming to an rtmp. That would be the only way to have a seamless transition

I am not sure if anybody has mentioned this but there is a bug where it won't orientate itself properly at the start of opening the app restarting the app seems to prove useful and restarts the orientation again so hard to be over worried about it just thought id put it out them to you people

Well for the safety of yourself and the safety of others I would hope your riding and not driving which wouldn't require a tts function. Currently there is no function for tts on the mobile app to read out chat

the app generates an (alerts) overlay when installed and logged into.
this can be found on your overlays on the se dashboard.
you can add the widgets there for whatever you need, however you wont be able to SEE it on your phone, it will be visible on the stream

No, I want to use the twitch extension. This is a sound board style extension for viewer to hit buttons on that sound board for I can get paid in bits. The only way the phone to play the alerts on the stream is through a browser source. I assume stream elements don't support this yet then.

Upon connecting with the app, a new overlay labeled Mobile is created in your StreamElements account for you, which you can then edit as you wish like any other overlay. This overlay will be applied for your viewers when you are streaming with the StreamElements app.

Changes won't reflect in the app itself (except sound, you should be able to hear the changed sound), but will show in the stream.
