Hello, I've been trying to set up the alerts on the Pixelart series to have custom sounds versus the default ones. I have removed the default sound and replaced it with the sound I wish to play. I have the volume for the new sound set to 75% and the Video sound set to 0% and I somehow hear both sounds at the same time. This does not seem to effect variations.

I'm aware that I can technically copy them, but then I cannot use the randomized option.

Ok, so I have learned that if I play the alert directly from the variations settings list, it doesn't play the default sound

however, when I use the emulator, I get the default sound playing on top of the new one

Make sure to check the box to “shutdown when not visible” in every overlay properties in obs

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have OBS.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start OBS.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Click on Enable Custom Font

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I'm having trouble being able to get the game audio output as well as my usb microphone audio input from my ps remote play sessions to appear in recordings via OBS.Live simultaneously. If I can get the USB mic to be picked up there is no output audio from the speakers and when I try to establish an Audio Output Capture source (to hopefully connect to the audio source on my computer) it says "Device not selected or available" under the device selection menu beneath the main screen and no selections are at all available to make under preferences for the Audio Output source at all. Any assistance would be appreciated.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey all, so I use restream chat (Strictly to view chat across Twitch, Youtube and sometimes Facebook Gaming as I have my own stream RTMP/RTMPS server), so I got my Restream Chat on OBS here... My question is how can I get the Activity feed and Alert Boxes working for my Twitch AND Facebook Gaming in addition to the currently working Youtube Alert Box? Any help is greatly appreciated! I just want to be able to both be notified when someone follows on twitch, or subscribes on youtube both on stream, and on an activity feed. I'm currently signed in using the YouTube option on OBS.Live.

So i'm trying to live on Youtube using both OBS 27.1.3 and OBS 27.0.1 with obslive plugin.
but my chat seems broken, When I use the Default Start Stream button, the Chat Window is flickering. but if I use the Live Video Settings button on Chat Window, the OBS just crashed.

Is there a way to use obs.live and restream with OBS? I stream to FB & Youtube but when I login to obs.live with my linked account (in this case youtube) it always defaults to go live only on youtube. Essentially overridng my restream.io selection in the settings

The media share volume control for the first video in the queue is always low and you have to either click the mute/unmute button once to return the volume to the correct level OR click the volume fader once.

The good news is that the media share bugs are starting to get fixed....but still needs some work to get it back to where it used to be

Hi! I've just created all of my alerts and put the source into my OBS. When I test out an alerts, I hear the sound but don't see the image and text. I've already unchecked "Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration" in my settings of OBS, but that didn't work. The source is also the top in the list, so nothing is over it. Any idea how to make my alerts show up instead of only hearing the sound? 😇

For Chat bot, Timers, I have a message that contains a web link, but I do not want it to be picked up as one after I Save. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hello!!! I am having the weirdest problem and nobody i know can figure it out...when im in OBS i can't hear the music tracks i have playing in each source. BUT i can see that the sound meter is picking it up AND when i do a test recording and play back the recording i can hear it in the play back. When i'm streaming my followers say they can hear the music but i cannot. i also cannot hear when my sound alerts pop up from soundalerts.com. same as the media sounds i can see obs is picking it up and the icon even pops up on stream but i cant hear it. i think i have tried everything to fix this and im stumped. this started a few days ago at first when i switch from slots last saturday everything was working great and i could hear the songs. I've tried replacing the media source, checking my audio is on my headphones, and even switching the files in the advanced settings to monitor off-monitor muted- ect. nothing seems to be working and its driving me crazy....please halpppp

I was about to post the same thing. I've had chat members spend Bits to jumpscare me and it is playing on the stream, but I am hearing nothing and haven't for a few days and it is annoying them because they are obviously spending money to do it. You might want to change the encoder in the recording settings and test it. I would always recommend falling back to the "x264" encoder when you have issues like that.

Hello, recently i've noticed a few things with the Media Request tool on OBSlive, basically the amount of "skip" votes doesn't seem to matter anymore, it just skips after one person types !skip. the queue will auto play if the media is "showing on stream". when it's not showing on stream and a media ends, the next media ques up but it doesn't "play" it stays there paused until it's manually played or done by command to resume. Also, when skip voting is set for "VIPs" it means only the first skip vote must be done by a VIP but anyone can vote after instead of only VIPs being able to vote. Is there anything I can do to fix any of these for now?

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hello dear duck! Yes i have, ive been using media request from streamelements on the last 10 lives now, and the error suddenly appeared when i clicked to go live today. Now its back to normal, but im afraid to happen again when i go live. When i went to the overlay editor before, that scene right there was transparent. Now that is back to normal, the video is appearing. Is there any reason that that could have happened?

If it happens again it is usually resolved by logging out and logging back in at StreamElements menu, on top of OBS > Logout > Login

or Right click on the BrowserSource > Properties > Scroll down a bit > Refresh cache of current page

Ookie dookie! Ill do it next time. Something that i may mention, is that i have two sources with the same widget/overlay/link from media request, but one of them have a gain filter. I use it for, everytime i change from a "Streaming Layout" to a "Be Right Back Layout" the song get its volume raised automatically. Ill try to leave just one source and raise it manually when i change scenes

This is the only way i found to automatically raise the volume of the media request when i change scenes, idk if there is another way too

I can't get the Channel Point Widget to work while I'm streaming. It will emulate in the overlay editor, and while I do that it will pop up in my OBS but actually during a stream, the alerts don't go off. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hello!!! I am having the weirdest problem and nobody i know can figure it out...when im in OBS i can't hear the music tracks i have playing in each source. BUT i can see that the sound meter is picking it up AND when i do a test recording and play back the recording i can hear it in the play back. When i'm streaming my followers say they can hear the music but i cannot. i also cannot hear when my sound alerts pop up from soundalerts.com. same as the media sounds i can see obs is picking it up and the icon even pops up on stream but i cant hear it. i think i have tried everything to fix this and im stumped. this started a few days ago at first when i switch from slots last Saturday everything was working great and i could hear the songs. I've tried replacing the media source, checking my audio is on my headphones, and even switching the files in the advanced settings to monitor off-monitor muted- ect. nothing seems to be working and its driving me crazy....please halpppp.... i posted this on the 25th and nobody has suggested help.

I don't know if I worded my question correctly my bad. When I go to create a chat box overlay for my stream to be on screen. It's cut off or keeps changing sizes when I click the source. I have to drag the source around in the Overlay editor to the top left for it be somewhat visible but that requires a lot of guess work. Well i switched from SLOBS to OBS and I am using my pre-existing overlay from Nerd or Die called Glitch. I made a couple of modifications, it's a static image. My current work around is to go full screen and take a screenshot to then add the chat widget in there via overlay editor while being able to see the overlay itself. I was wondering if there's a way to just put that overlay in the editor itself without having to screenshot and lose quality.

Hi! I am having trouble connecting a custom bot name. I have reset the session to be sure, the selected "Set custom bot name", clicked on "Connect custom bot account", then after I sign in and authorize it redirects back to OBS but nothing changes in the obslive window and the dropdown does not show my custom bot's name.

So... I've figured out that the pale frames are supposed to be for my webcam outlines, that's fine, I guess. BUT... Since I have a 4:3 webcam, I wanted to repurpose the 16:9 frame to outline my entire screen. I can't resize it that far, apparently?
Secondly, I don't want my chat to be constrained to that purple square proportions. I'd rather it be long, like about 300 x 600, but I can't reshape it? Why can't I CTRL+Drag to disable contraints?

I want to use graphics that were designed for this theme. but in the case of the Chat background, i can't resize it to the shape I want, and I can't even duplicate it and overlap them to feign a longer image because there is a gradient applied to the image. (I tried and it looked.... off, is probably the nicest way I could put it.

And then not being able to resize the 16:9 frame to surround my screen, or even just where I will have my game screen, is just frustrating. The theme is SO CLOSE to what i want... but the tools I'm provided to finish it just don't want to work for me. >.<

Some of the parts here can likely be recreated to your liking, for example the chat background is likely just a flat image that can be made to your specifications and uploaded. Are there no adjustment options for it at all?

I can drag it to resize it, but the proportions are contrained to I can't make it a different shape.
There also appears to be some transparency to the chat background, just slightly, enough to be noticed, but I don't know how much % transparency it was designed with. So trying to recreate it with my own attempt is iffy at best. Just another reason I want to use a graphic that is designed for this theme.

I kinda figured that out, but can't for the life of me understand WHY? I mean why can't I repurpose an asset to something else in a different size/configuration if I happen to want something that's not completely pre-packaged? I was always of the frame of mind that these themes should be an easy to use way to drop them in your stream and use as is... OR if you are so inclined, modify them as you see fit to make them more personalized for your own use. Makes no sense.

That's going to depend on your internet, I think. You are using bandwidth streaming, AND watching. So your phone might be eating up some of your bandwidth while you try to monitor your content. Is your phone separate from your network?
Another possibility is that internet in your area may be experiencing issues. (Comcast is terrible for me.)

no its not. im using the same wifi for my laptop as i am for my phone. i think i have suddenlink but when i game its fine and searching the web. its just when i try streaming it does that:/ and i been trying to stream for 2 days and its been like this.

Router reset might help. Cable Modem too. But again, if it's Comcast, they just happen to be terribad.

Hit up a Broadbad test website to see what your bandwidth is like, currently. I'm assuming you've streamed before and had no issues with your current setup? There are settings somewhere that have to do with which streaming service server you are pointing at. Make sure you are going to the closest to your location. Occasionally, you may have to swap to the next closest. I'm in Tacoma, so i stream to the Twitch Seattle server, but sometimes need to go to the Portland server depending on network traffic.

Depends on what your internet type is like. Cable should be like 75Mb/s or more upload, and probably 10 Mb/s or a little higher, depending on the service you are buying.

If you have DSL, then it will be significantly slower than that. Can still get you ok service, but probably not the best for streaming.

I just looked up Suddenlink and you should be good, even if you are monitoring on the same network.

Do you know how to get to your output settings? Settings --> Output --> then look for Video Bitrate. I don't know the ideal settings table, but you should be able to get by with 2500-3000 Kbps. Hardware Encoder NVENC should be good as well, depending on your laptop specs. Also working from an SSD is in your best interests.

Found it! This silly little Blue dot with a + symbol on it will let me add my own frame into the theme. OBSERVATION: Having this disconnected from the given UI with a completely different look and in the middle of the screen I'm editing gets it lost in clutter and I didn't even register it was there.

As I'm editing things, and moving them around in the layers, I'm looking to Add a new layer... but the control doesn't exist as part of the sidebar controls. As you can see from this image, the "Add" button is kinda lost in the screen. I think it would be advantageous to place this control at the top of the sidebar where I'm working with the controls. Hopefully I'm not misunderstanding how the overlays work, I'm using OBS Studio and StreamElements plugins/widgets, but what are the advantages to having my art assets/themed overlay uploaded to StreamElements' overlays versus imported into OBS Studio itself? Is it more lightweight if I load the images through the StreamElements' overlay? Or would it be smarter to have my high resolution art assets baked into my stream in OBS Studio itself and only have widgets pulled in through the plugin on top of it?

Depends on file size tbh. If you can export them in a small enough file size while keeping the detail, web is best. Every source you add to an active scene consumes ram/cpu resources, so ideally uploading them would provide the best performance.

That said, you can also store them locally and they will load “instantly” as they won’t require refreshing the browser source.

But you then have to weigh the performance hit (depending on your rig)

Ok. Your bitrate is way too low for 1920x1080. To stream to twitch at that resolution you need 5000-6000 bitrate. I’d recommend testing with the following settings:
Base canvas: 1920x1080
Output scaled: 1280x720
bitrate: 3500

Also do you have a dedicated graphics card or are you on a laptop?

Hey y'all I'm trying to connect my YT to OBS.live and the local login isn't working. The steps I take are as follows:

1. I open OBS Studio
2. I click the "Stream Elements" button at the top and select "Login"
3. I select "YouTube" and browser window opens automatically, taking me to a Google Account login page
4. I select the account I want to connect
5. A new page loads, asking me "Would you like to give OBS.Live access to your channel "(my channel)"?" with the buttons "Cancel" and "Authenticate"
6. I select "Authenticate", and a new page loads (screenshot attached), indicating that the connection failed

I have tried multiple browsers (Chrome and Edge), my VPN is turned off, and the port specified in step 6 changes every time I attempt to login. I thought about trying port forwarding but since the port changes on every attempt I can't know which one to forward. Is there anyhting I'm doing wrong or should change?

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Is there a way to install the "Live" plugin, without installing "OBS.Live" ? I already have a perfectly functioning, completely configured/setup in straight OBS. Basically im switching away from StreamLabs, and trying to get my Twitch stream going incorporating the functionality I had with them, here. When having an overlay in OBS that has Media Request. Audio is echoed when the setting for the Browser Source "Control audio via OBS" is disabled. But when I have it enabled, the audio is fine but alert sounds don't come through desktop audio anymore. Hello! Is there a way to have my custom bot name (replaces StreamElements bot name in OBS.Live) continue after closing OBS? I have automated messages for follows, socials, etc. that are triggered off stream when OBS is closed and the generic StreamElements name is used if OBS/OBS.Live is closed. Forgive me if this is in the wrong channel or has been answered before. Thanks!
