I found it, if you go to the settings on your stream window click the settings, click on stream. there you will see a button to disconnect, click it. copy your stream key from twitch and paste it in the stream key block, click ok and try to stream

So i had to remove OBS.live in order to stream to YT on the latest version of OBS Studio, apparently its not compatible with the latest version of OBS Studio, is there a version of OBS.live that wont make my OBS shut off when i try to stream to YT?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Honestly, it could be a temporary connectivity issue between you and the server.
Maybe try reducing your outgoing bitrate, and in general try reducing congestion in your outgoing data.
Another option:
OBS Settings -> Advanced -> Network -> Bind to IP -> change from default to one of the two other options.

Hi, I stream poker using OBS-live and after a recent update of the poker client OR obs live (not sure which, happened at the same time), the tables of that pokersite do not show up on stream.
This happens with display capture, game capture or window capture and regardless of the capture method selected.

Quick question about Video resolution. I just built a new PC. Got a new 1440p monitor. Running 10900k with evga 3080 ftw gpu. Fios internet with like 500 upload speed.

All that being said. Should I have my base canvas be the resolution of my monitor and will it scale properly down to 1080 with it set like this?

I've been researching and I am getting SO many conflicting results. Anyone stream with 1440p monitor down to 1080p have any insight? thanks!

Hi. The base resolution should be your monitor resolution. And then in the stream settings you select the downscaling option (1080p) in that case and the FPS.

My hardware is more than sufficient to run something like APEX on max settings 144+ FPS on 1440p. Before, I used to have a 1080p monitor so it was just straight 1080 canvas to scaled. If my hardware is good, will 1440p to 1080p still look just as crisp?

The scaling is very good. The limiting factor is always the streaming bitrate on Twitch. Do not bother with 1080p downscaling

Hi. The easiest way is to grab the OBS profile and scene collection from the old PC if you have access.
If not, you will need to install all overlays manually into OBS. Since they are saved in the cloud, you just need to grab the links from the "my overlays" tab.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Okay I finally figured the chat thing out, so part of it is "overlays" are only called overlays on stream elements, and nowhere else in the world, they're browser sources in everything else

And to add twitch chat, which you'd think would be a basic feature that was predone, you have to create your own custom overlay in stream elements and inside the custom one there's a "Your stream chat" widget you can place

that's so poorly documented and undiscoverable...so hopefully that helps anyone else that runs into the issue

I have a nub question - how do I test to hear alerts via OBS? I use edge for the testing and have edge muted, but the streamelements browser element is using chrome. If I test an alert it gets shown on obs and in obs I got the browser source as "audio handled via obs" checked and the volume meter also shows me an input when I use the test events via SE web interface for the alert - but I can't hear it. I tried monitoring settings and mono settings. I do not get a sound from the alert in OBS which I can hear, only when I unmute the browser I use the event testing in.

If I record the stream in OBS I can hear the alert. IT's just I do not hear it in OBS.

I do not use the obs live plugin.

Hello StreamElements OBS Live team. The media player still has some issues after your last update. The first video plays at the wrong volume level every time. You have to either click on the volume fader or click the speaker icon on and off (mute on/off) on the Media Player to reset the audio level to the proper level. Once this is done, the other videos in the queue play at the correct level. It only happens with the first video in the media player every time.

The issue you’re having is with an elgato card. We can’t provide support for elgato products as we aren’t elgato. They have a great guide on setting up a capture card and including chat for obs. The other thing would be to ask in the elgato discord as they are in a better position to assist with their products. We can only provide support for streamelements products here and limited support for obs.

Hey, can someone help me out with this? Ever since I reset passwords for everything with the twitch source code leak. I have not been able to reconnect my bot twitch channel to act as a custom bot name. I will go through the steps over and over again, even with OBS.Live update and restarts, etc and it still prompts me to connect a custom bot even upon login. I'm having trouble with media share - this is hard to describe so bare with me. I have autoplay turned OFF, but the media-share dock still autoplays the next vid/song in the cue. it's not that big of an issue, HOWEVER, when the next video is playing, it's not showing the video as playing in the Dock - it shows that the media is paused, as if cued up to hit play. when I hit play, it doesn't catch up to where the video is, which is already playing, but instead the progress bar starts going as if nothing's wrong. from there I can pause the video as normal, but the progress bar in the media-share dock is still not in the right spot. once the video is actually done playing, the next video won't start until the progress bar in the media share dock is caught up.... ALTERNATELY, if I don't hit the play/pause button once the second video starts autoplaying (even though autoplay is turned OFF this whole time) the media plays on my stream, but appears to be not playing in the media-share dock. at THAT point, once the video is over, it stops, and if I hit play it will play that second video all over again. all of this is very annoying and counter intuitive, and hindering the flow of my whole stream as I have to constantly pause/play/skip

I'm also coming across another issue with media-share: every time I "show on stream" the volume is at a super low level, even though on the dock it says it's all the way up. the only way to fix it is to move the volume setting around, as soon as you do the volume is at the correct level. when I hit "stop showing on stream" the volume stays where it's supposed to.. but when I hit "show on stream again" the volume is all janked up again.

Hey there. Im streaming my reef tank on twitch via Mobile. To filter out the intense blue lights, im using a hardware filter to be able to show the true colours. When using a webcam, the hardware filter wont work and i tried to "mix" a similar colour with colour correction filter. Unfortunately im not getting any good results. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi, none of my Stream Elements cloud saves on OBS LIVE saved my scenes and sources. Is this a known a problem? I've tried to load the cloud saves on the same pc and I've tried loading them into a fresh install on another pc. Neither load the scenes and sources from the cloud saves.

Greetings again - I have an issue that remains that I do not know how I can listen to SE alerts (like say follower) without having the stream open? As when I don't have SE open in a browser nor the stream, I do not hear the sound via OBS. Though OBS shows the sounds of the browser element for the alert are played (volume meteer) and on a test record it is also recorded and you can hear it. It's simply that I can't hear it when using OBS.

go into "advanced audio settings" there is a setting on the right hand side that handles something called "Monitor". essentially this is the thing OBS uses to play sounds back to you, as well as on stream, or not if you so choose. make sure the dropdown is set to "monitor and output" for the source you want to be able to hear. this needs to be applied to anything you want to hear the alerts from. keep in mind that Twitch alerts and Streamelements ones are two separate elements so you'll have to change the setting for both of them individually.

dunno if u got ur help yet, after setting everything up, try restarting OBS, sometimes OBS doesn't accept the settings asap (sometimes, it does after some time, a restart helps faster tho). Are you using Desktop Audio? (In the OBS Settings) or do u use it via the Scene (Custom Audio device, basicly)?

Also in the Settings u can say, which device will be your monitoring device (instead of standard audio device), under Audio -> Advanced -> Monitoring-Device, try using that (don't forget the restart of OBS if it doesn't work right away.

If u are using virtual Audio-Cable software like VoiceMeeter, and the device u want to use runs over VoiceMeeter, the "Standard-Device" Name is disabled and you have to use the VoiceMeeter-Drivers (e.g. don't use "Logitech G933 Gaming Headset", but use "VoiceMeeter Input" and tell VoiceMeeter it is Device A1 (or one of the others, but A1 has to be set up with any device).

yes and no... according to Apple it supports Catalina, the problem is that since Catalina Apple dropped support to some things, one of them being 32bits apps, which I do use some (I'm more a Windows user, but I got an old Macbook that beat my even older pc as a gift, so I'm now using mac), Also the drive is kinda old and I can't upgrade it, yet... so I won't upgrade to Catalina (and already tried installing windows with bootcamp but some hardwares are not well recognized on windows so that's a no too)... The funny part is that I was before on High Sierra because I didn't had a SSD (Mojave works better on SSD and since Mojave OSX works better on SSD), but the SSD that i have is old is not brand new, and when I was on High Sierra I remember that StreamElements supported Mojave, so now that I had to upgrade because of a problem I thought i would be able to finally use StreamElements... Anyways, I won't upgrade to Catalina, and it pains me that support keeps being dropped, these are one of many things that I hate about Mac, but it's what I have for now... I've noticed that OBS.live is technically a plugin for OBS, so I'm trying to find a way to still install it on OBS, because OBS is still supported on Mojave, actually it is supported as far as Sierra... 🤷‍♂️

2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

G'day, I stream on Facebook Gaming. I have found for the last few streams that I cannot see the stream in the Live Producer, any app like NoxBot also is not able to "detect" a live stream and OBS studio widgets for Facebook chat show the chat from my previous stream before this all stopped appearing to link to Facebook correctly. Unsure what to do. It stopped working on a stream on the 23/10/21 and I have streamed multiple times since but facebook doesn't detect it (I can go live, it works).

This was previously working for me. But I had to take about a month off from streaming and in during that time had to reinstall Windows - and now it's no longer connected. I've tried to authorize it multiple times, but it doesn't do anything. I log in and click to authorize and I just get back to the settings page with nothing changed.

I tried everything I could find here - including the remote-debugging-port hack, ensuring OBS is running as admin and logging out and back in under StreamElements.

I've tried at least a dozen different logins with the bot account and it always allows me to click authorize - but nothing changes.

Really confused.

And when I log in, I get a Twitch confirmation email that I did successfully log into the bot account - so that's working fine. It's just the next step where it authorizes that's failing for some unknown reason.

This is the only fix we have for a windows based OBS.Live installation around the custom bot name. If done correctly it will reset the custom bot functionality so you can either go back to the default name or rename again.

As I said, it lets me log in and I get teh Activate button which I can press - and when it returns me to the main OBS window it's still the same. The "Current bot name" is still highlighting "Set custom bot name" and "Send test message" is greyed out.

I can still click on "Connect custom bot account" and "Save" normally - but those just let me loop over and over and don't actually allow me to make any progress here.

It seems like the "Activate" portion is what's failing since I can log in just fine - the activate hook just isn't taking hold.

heya, got an audio question, when i stream console Im capturing my game/audio with avermedia 2 plus.
I have no issues with the game sound doubling because i uncheck the desktop audio off when streaming console. The problem is when i wanna do collabs and get peoples voices on discord i have to check it back on so viewers can hear the discord party, but in turning desktop audio on to do so, i can hear the game audio double itself on stream, is there a way to get just discords voices in there without game sound doubling?

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Hello, For the last few weeks the media share feature has had a multitude of issues and some have been fixed but some still remain. The most critical problem that is still happening is the auto-cuing of youtube videos keeps getting stuck to where I have to manually push them through.

Can someone please let me know if a StreamElements engineer is working on resolving issues with the Media Share? It has worked for years and then the last month or so it has become quite broken.

@soft knot So I have a moderator operate/monitor the mediashare during my stream. He has it where he can preview/approve media share requests before they are played. He tells me it gets stuck when he adds approved videos to the queue.

He has to manually push approved videos in the queue when usually doesn't/shouldn't have to once they are approved

Also there is an issue where the audio level is low for the first video to be played until you click the mute/unmute "speaker" icon or touch the volume fader

I can have my moderator who operates it explain in more detail if needed.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

I'm having what seems to be a common problem - setting the initial size. My base canvas resolution in OBS is 1920x1080. My output scaled resolution is 1280x720. What should I choose for my overlay resolution? Do I just then use URL in a new Browser source as is?

The bot response in #helpdesk-twitch actually describes what you did and why the response in that channel is correct. Changing the overlay resolution in your dashboard means that is the resolution you need to add to obs. However, your canvas is still 1920x1080 so the recommended resolution for your overlays is 1920x1080 in the overlay properties of the SE dashboard.

Hi, i have a problem with changing the name of the bot. I used Custom Bot Name for about 2-3 months and it worked fine until i changed the password of the account. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Not so much a SteamElements problem but an OBS/OBS Live problem:
I've been getting this weird problem when I have the League of Legends base client open and OBS open, which then causes crackling and static with my Microphone. This doesn't happen with any other game or application. I've tried disabling League Voice, muting league in-client and with Windows, so I'm left to assume it might be a software issue. FYI - I think I narrowed down the issue. Wallpaper Engine (Steam) also uses Unity and it looks like running Valheim+OBS+WE is what was causing the instability. Too much Unity is a bad thing .

So what my question is now, if can you put pictures IN the overlay. That means, IF something covers some game things I would like to move the "cam" on the other side or somewhere else, but now the picture isn't coming automatic with it. So I have to move the Overlay and THEN the picture AND trying to put the picture exactly into the overlay.

Hey there. 🙂 I'm having an issue since I switched from Player.me this week with my overlays, and it has to do with the sounds on my alert box. When I test the alerts (by "sending to OBS" and muting the desktop sound in OBS to make sure), the sounds do go to OBS properly. But when I'm streaming, the alerts pop up properly but there's no sound. Is there a setting I'm missing that I need to change? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Currently there is a known issue with going Live with OBS.Live.
The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live.

I don't know if this is a helpdesk request for OBSlive or Facebook or just StreamElements in general, but all of a sudden my text to speech just stopped working on my streams. It also isn't working in StreamElements. There is no fix, there is no reason why this should be.. it was working and now its not. I didn't change or modify anything and its just completely unfixable. Hey guys,

Weird issue on my end. We installed OBS, quickly set it up proceeded to download OBS live. Once that was done we added a few scenes as well as the game capture. The game capture was working, closed it and reopened it was still working well. Later on when I logged into Stream Elements the game capture hasn't been working since it keeps giving me the black screen on game capture.

We tried the following
Admin mode
Assigned GPU
Changing the game capture to specific window while the game was in window mode
Re-adding the game capture to see if ti'll work
Restarting OBS live

However I did uninstall it and started from scratch doing the same starting steps up to installing OBS live, although I didn't Log into Stream elements when you boot up OBS live. I added the game capture source and it happened to work, but when you log into stream elements it doesn't work again. Is there something i'm potentially missing out?

but one thing that didn't make sense was as soon as OBS live was installed it was working... once i logged in close the game, edited the scenes and wanted to relaunch it, the game capture doesn't work all of a sudden.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Another issue, for some reason obs is causing huge issues. After around 30 minutes of streaming apex game is freezing for like 5 plus frames dropped to 50 and lower secs ans obs for some reason is showing me on stream only 2 same frames over and over

Hi, I have problem with sound in my OBS. I hope I will be able to describe it as precise as possible. As any other user, in audio mixer, I have my mic and audio/speakers. It worked as intended, what I was speaking went through mic channel and game sounds went through audio/speakers channel. But today it got messed up, what I speak goes through mic channel and through audio/speakers channel go gamesounds AND my speach is added to that. This creates an echo on the stream. It doesn't happen anywhere else rather then OBS. Monitoring of mic channel is off. The most fun part is that when I unplug my mic and then plug it in again it works fine. Until I change scene. Then it's all mixed up again. Any help would be very appreciated as I totally run out of clues and possible solutions.

The problem I'm having is the browser source in obs.live is not loading the link I get from stream elements. Does anyone know of a fix? Hey, I've had some issues tonight with the alert box not showing the videos but playing the sounds. It was fine last stream so not sure what's changed. I've redone the browser in OBS and still not working. I've also had some issues with TTS, I have the bit min to 100 but people can still use it with 1 bit or more? Thanks

hi there, i'm not sure if this is a twitch issue or an obslive issue, but i can't set up a custom bot account name. i had the bot account connected just fine, but then in the middle of a stream i had a few days ago, it disconnected and i've gone through the steps to connect it back but when i select add custom bot, it'll have me sign in just fine for my bot account, but after signing in and authorizing the list still says 'set custom bot name' instead of showing the bot i just signed in with

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)

Hi, i just wanted to start my stream normal like ever about obs only to see that something was not right. After a short time of search i saw myself confronted that every link and overlay that i created in streamelements was deleted and after my looking the side looked at me if i was a complete new one. Every statistic, bot commands and overlays are gone. I hope i am in the right topic and find some help her.
