If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

This is a known issue with Youtube accounts trying to go live with OBS.Live

Hi, I would recommend ensuring that your upload speed is stable. Also, as these settings are personal I would recommend playing around with them to find the perfect setup for your personal use.

I updated obs. i havent in quite a few months because everytime i update something it messes up but today i took a chance. now my issue is that obs acts offline (if that makes sense) no chat dock, no alert boxes, and no ability to choose a browser source...but i can go live though which is weird. i have tried to disconnect and reconnect my stream key but when i do it does not give me the option to actually connect the account. I hit accept and ok but as we all know thats not connecting the account.... the connecting account button isnt even there.....PLEASE HELP ME

So I have been using StreamElements since I started streaming again about a month ago. The appeal at first was the overlays, not so much what StreamElements could "do". As I've streamed a few times I've noticed that I never get any notifications on my stream and my "Activity Page" is always blank. This led me to check the StreamElements dashboard, which shows no activity from any source.. I've tried logging out and back in, but I'm not sure what else I should do. Help appreciated! Thanks!

yea before what I was doing was making a chatbox widget and then adding the widget to OBS studio as as browser source. and while messages were being sent to the widget on the streamelements website, they didn't appear in OBS so nothing was displaying on stream.

yea bro go for it. Even tho it doesnt work id still put it up. It works for the viewers but not for us as the broadcaster. If you have a secondary way of typing in chat like your phone or another monitor youll be good. Just cant do it for preview purposes for whatever reason

I can't make live broadcast from OBS to Twitch. The program doesn't show any error messages or something, like connection issues. The status bar is OK; the CPU, Great FPS & KB/s... But if you try to access to my channel there's no live streaming to play.
The status in my avatar is green (like i'm online) but no live streaming.

I can't hear my alert notification sounds. They're going through, though, and the chat can hear them. Changing the audio monitoring doesn't work, although it still seems to take effect since the chat can hear it when set to output and can't when set to monitor only. I've reset the alert window twice. I can only hear it when I select not to control audio through OBS, but then the alerts are LOUD and manually changing the alert volume in Streamelements doesn't seem to have an effect.
Is there anything else I can do?

Hello folks! I'm stopping by with a bit of a request for help - with changing the Bot name in OBS.Live.

I've set up the 3 stages required, but I think it may be an issue with the overlay requirement - and activation.

The option to activate overlay (or indeed change name) is not showing up, in the StreamElements menu.

@everyone or anyone who can help me with trying to figure out why my chat audio (both game and party) isn't going into my stream? I can hear fine with headphones but my party chat isn't being brought into the stream. I have a PS5 > HDMI Adapter > Elgato HD60S+ > Astro A40 with Mixamp > Windows 10 PC > PC Gaming Monitor. I've played with the sound settings. I found that I can get party audio into the stream by making the Output Device HDMI with AV Amplifyer but then the mixamp does not work correctly. If I keep it USB Headset; then I don't get anything into stream but can be heard much clearer by my game/party chat. I've followed many recommendations on blogs and youtube videos and still hitting a wall so to speak.

I'm trying to use Media Request from Obs.live plugin. But there's a problem, after a song ends, there's a chance that the next song will start with the YT video paused, but the Media Request player keep playing normal, but there's no sound. If I pause and unpause it works again.

okay hi! ive been using obs.live for awhile now and i love it! but today when going to update it finally and to re open it, it asked me to update it again to the same version.. my chat and activity feed wasnt there either.. i looked around where it should be and found out that it turned into normal obs for some reason.. i uninstalled it and redownloaded obs.live and it still doesnt work.. and it asked me to update it again so i did and nothing.

Hello! I have an issue with the microphone when I change scenes. When I use my mic in the "starting soon scene", the mic is good. When I am changing to "live-scene", with web-cam, the mic gets robotic, and almost double. The settings in OBS are correct, but I am suspecting that somethings happen with the live scene, as I have a cam with mic, that is deactivated in windows tho. Im using Røde podmic (xlr) with a GOXLR. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, after a while without upgrading SE OBS.live , I finally decided to do it today, however i'm constantly prompted with the same "
Upgrade to OBS Studio 27.0.1 " despite having done it multiple times it does not go away and the version # does not change neither". At the same time I can't seem to be able to see anything related to SE, twitch panels are gone etc...

Was wondering if I was the only one or if it was a known issue? Any lead would be more than appreciated, otherwise i'm looking for legacy versions downloads if they are available.

Does stream elements support older versions of OBS studio? I've found that OBS 26.1.1 is more stable and consumes less CPU than OBS 27 versions. Wondering if there are old versions of obs.live plugin that would allow me to make use of older versions of OBS studio?

Yeah it's functioning properly on the 27 versions. I've tried reverting to 26.1.1 but cannot get obs.live to function and make the connection to stream elements. It just prompts that I need to go to the 27 version of obs studio

I would suggest you do an uninstall via Revo Uninstaller and do a full scan and delete all registry and folder/file entries that are found after the uninstall and reinstall obs studio and obs.live

Yesterday at my stream, my custom bot account disconnected and I couldn't get him back to stream, even if I opend the Settings in the StreamElements Viewlet, changed to "Streamelements" and back to my custom account.
Is there any work-around for this problem?

To best capture League of Legends, create two scenes.
In the first scene, add a Window Capture of the LoL launcher/lobby.
In the second scene, add a Game Capture of the game itself (you may need to be in a game to add this for the first time).

I am in need of a smart person to help me out with random crashes of OBS 😛

According to the analyzer I have no problems but the following happens. (I do have a crash report luckly this time. Normally it's just quick exit and done)

I am both streaming from a backpack and just regular streams.

The problem only occurs with backpack streams.

I go live, stream for 2 hours without any troubles.
But let's say a viewer tells me the audio is a bit too loud or I want to change scenes. The moment I "touch" OBS it just instantly crashes and I have to start it again.
If I don't touch it at all the stream just keeps going.

I am using a SRT stream which is monitored through Loopy SRT (That talks with the websocket plugin for automatic scene switches etc.).

Really hope someone can help 🙂

I can't read that language, but i see low bitrate and dropped frames - network issue. Your connection to the Twitch server can't support the selected bitrate currently.

Change the Twitch server first (same for other platforms), if that does not help - go to your ISP and tell them that your connection is bad.

Media Request - Autoplay is not working with OBS live dock.

  1. Tried restarting OBS in admin and without admin mode
  2. Tried toggling auto play off > Refreshing Widget > Turned Auto play on > Refreshed Widget
  3. Tried the same as #2 again and restarted OBS in administrator mode

  1. Just searched the discord and deleted cache folder from appdata of OBS.LIVE and restarted OBS, no changes.
  2. Checked on browser does not autoplay on browser either

ive tried restarting the program and refreshed widget and uninstalled the OBS LIVE and reinstalled and still no changes it just wont AUTO PLAY but however on the stream elements browser website it is autoplaying but its just not working at all in the OBS LIVE

Ah, i'm not the only one having problems with the media request. I've got a backup playlist link in place which used to work and suddenly stopped working. Glad this is being looked at!

@jade garden yeah that's what was going on with my media request player inside of OBS live the autoplay isn't working but I too had a backup playlist and it was working but now the backup playlist isn't auto-playing I too am glad that they are looking into this

Hi, I have issues streaming on Trovo. If I login to Trovo with obs.live, my stream is muted. If I login with restream.io I appear as offline on Trovo so no stream is getting through. I know restream.io works fine because YouTube and Dlive are showing up with sound. Any thoughts?

Hi, I seem to be running into an issue where an overlay is displaying in the Streamelements login area, and functions fine with follows/subs/etc., but the same overlays don't work in OBS. I've tried refreshing overlays, re-logging in, etc. but no dice. Any ideas why it wouldn't be showing?
The audio for alerts seem to be triggering as well, just not the visuals. Very confusing.

I might or might not have found a workaround to the incident where OBS Studio w/ OBS Live freezes when starting the stream, either by the "Start Streaming" button, or the "Live Video Settings" button. (For me, using Facebook)

I was dealing with this for an hour, searched on this Discord and got this idea. Bear in mind I may have merely lucked out, it may not work for you; I had to try maybe 10 different times before my most recent stream started, before coming up with this solution on the 11th try:

-I logged out, and in StreamElements on the website
-I logged out of OBS Live
-I continued into OBS Studio without logging into OBS Live
-I started the stream as usual (no freezing)
-Once the stream went live on Facebook, I logged into OBS Live.
-Everything proceeded as normal (Overlays, Activity Log, Alerts, Chat, etc.)

Anyway, once I stream again, I'll try the usual method of starting the stream, and will try the one above, just to make sure if wasn't a fluke.

This was inspired by a solution where one said you had to log out and in of Streamelements and OBS Live, and then start the stream afterwards. Mine is just this, but starting the stream before logging in

Update 09/27: Just finished a Twitch stream; there was no problem at all using the old, usual method of starting the stream (Start Streaming button).

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hello! recently updated obs and the obs live plugin. Now it wont work. Every time i try to launch the app i get prompted to re update. when i click not now im stuck with standard obs and all my browser sources dont work.

i think theres just so many updates for it. i always just pressed update the minute i saw it so i wouldnt get annoyed later on but i did notice the software having alot. there should be an end to it...hopefully

well i can log out of the website but cant on OBS as it wont load into obs live. The desktop app launches standard obs studio and im prompted to update to access obs.live only to loop. so i cant log out of the obs.live app

pretty sure i remember leaving that unchecked when i originally installed. Im a big dumb and rather than have all my overlays in one source i have them all separate (dont ask me why i thought it was a good idea at the time) im not even sure if i can get everything exactly the same. but i guess this is the nuclear option if all else fails

Media Request is not Auto-playing music from the backup playlist. I need to manually click play after each song. Issue happens in OBS.Live and happens in the web browser as well. I have tried disabling autoplay and re-enabling anyone have any other suggestions?

I was not using OBS.Live until 30 minutes ago. I have been using media request thru chrome in an incognito mode window with no extensions. I only installed OBS.Live to troubleshoot this issue

when exactly does your stream lag? what lags exactly? the stream itself buffers, or the alerts are laggy?

this can be affected by your stream settings, taking your overall upload speed into consideration
