Hello there, i've got a problem with obs lives : a brauwser source not do looping like i ask in setttings :
I add a new overlay 1080pp in streamelements overlay editor,
I add a video in mp4 (1 minute duration),
I select in settings loop
I copy the Overlay URL and paste in obs brauwser source, 1920*1080, but not looping when 1 minute is finish (wherehas previous overlays thoses i do the same are fonctional) (sorry for my english 😢 )

you would need to utilize a service like restream.io. Unfortunately there is no method within StreamElements to support multi-streaming at this time.

when trying to use my webcam it will eventually freeze and stop working entirely. The only fix is to restart my computer but the webcam will freeze and stop working again every time.

Not what I am looking for. Unrelated to the overlays, the whole canvas is staying at its full resolution (720p in my case) instead of scaling with the window, so when I make the obs window smaller, parts of the canvas/scene are not visible (they are of course still part of the stream, just not showing on my window).

Is this a USB camera? Also, what framerate and resolution is this camera, and which framerate and resolution do you have in the source settings?
I'm asking these questions because the most common cause for what you're describing is that too much data is being transferred over the USB connection.

yes its a 1080p USB webcam. im changing some settings to lower the amount of data being sent. seems to work so far

Yup, should work. Usually lowering from 60fps to 30 does the trick, or from 1080 to 720 if that's a possibility.

I have a monthly sub goal set which I'd like to reset every month and the monthly reset says it resets at "Monthly Calendar Timing resets on the 31st 23:59 UTC" yet it's August 1st 11:40 UTC and it still shows the monthly data from the previous month. To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you are like me and stream console games using elgato game capture through OBS and SE does not detect your capture card as a video source, simply reinstall the elgato software and have it turned off when you load up OBS. Then apply the capture card as your video source.

try playing around with the hardware acceleration and encoder settings, see if that helps

It looks like you’re copying the wrong url maybe? Instead of copying the page url, you want to click the little chain link icon near “save” to just copy your overlay. Then paste that in the same place you have the url in OBS

Thank you. That is what I do. As I demonstrated in my screenshot. I click the chain, which copies the overlay link to my clipboard, which I then paste into the browser source link. It works on my PC at home, but somehow won’t work on the office PC we want to use for livestreaming.

Make sure to go into the Sound Control Panel and disable “allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” under the properties > advanced tab for your speakers and your mic

Also right-click your headset/mic and select “use as default communication device”.
Then make sure your in-game audio device is set specifically to that audio device and not “default”

I get past the authorization of my second account but it doesn't save. Looks like nothing changed. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I have the same issue just today too. Not too sure whether it is related to 2FA that i enabled for the Bot account. It was working just fine before.

i did reconnect the bot, still no avail. From programming perspective.... it seems to be the cookie session and or AuthToken that the obs.live couldn't be saved? could you please let your dev team investigate the issue?

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hi guys, I have a bit of an issue with the Dynamic Font settings as you can see in the StreamElements preview (and in the overlay manager on browser) it's perfectly fine but not in OBS for some reason. If I put the font to a fixed size like 64 it changes tho but back to Dynamic and it goes tiny again

There even is a micro moment when I refresh the cache where it takes a normal amount of space and then the next frame it shrinks
I also have a second text in dynamic for an Alert Box and it's working perfectly fine (same overlay so same layer in OBS, not two separate overlay sources)

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

monitoring your own voice through windows will usually add delay to it, most of the streamers that monitor their voice will do it using hardware, like an audio interface

there are also microphones that let you connect headphones to it, which also lets you monitor voice

Need Help:
I have Stream Alerts set as a Browser Source, I then control the audio through OBS.
If I try to Monitor the audio so I can hear when the alert goes off it has double audio as it plays through the alert audio and my desktop audio. If I monitor only/offset to where its only playing once because they are played at the same time the audio being heard (music/tts) sounds like its muffled due to the "desktop audio" being the audio "layer" on top.
Is there anyway for me to make it to where I can monitor the Alerts and it not replay through the desktop audio channel?

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

hello i was hoping someone could help me. This just started happening last night. When i went to go live my bitrate wouldnt pull anything higher than 2,000. which is causing me to drop a lot of frames 70%. my internet speed hasnt changed. i reset my modem and router, restarted my streaming pc and nothing seems to work.

Issues with dropped frames can vary a lot based on the system, so there usually isn't a quick fix. Have you been able to check the OBS logs?

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

I am having some major network issues due to the amount of browser sources i have in OBS.Live and want to try and reducxe them without changing much to the stream. Whether through OBS or the stream elements site directly, is there any way I can bind/anchor the chat text box to my facecam, so that way if I need to move my facecam from bottom left of the screen to the top right, I don’t need to go back into my overlays, and play around with saving/positioning for several minutes to get it realigned again?

I switch between various games that have different screen layouts, so being able to click and reposition my facecam is essential to me, and I would like to see if there’s a way I can tether the chat to the facecam as well

hi, just had a question. so recently apex had a recent update. let me preface this by saying that before the update, streaming apex was no problem. but since the update, it seems like my stream will just stop. afterwards, on OBS it'll seem like i'm still streaming, but it'll say that i have 0kbs going to the stream, and it'll say that my stream is offline. when i try to actually "end stream" after the fact, seems like OBS just starts to not respond. anyone else having a similar problem?

Internet is not about raw speed. It is like a road network, your connection to the server takes a specific route - if that route has issues, your connection can be fine for everything else, but that one specific case will be problematic.

So i would recommend to check the connection to the twitch ingest servers and change the server if needed

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm facing a little problem with OBS.Live and Custom Bot Name.
I click to connect to my Twitch Bot Account and i follow the steps, then when i click on the last step, the OBS Pop Up Window closes and nothing happens. On the Activity Feed it still says to "Connect Custom Bot Account" but on my Twitch Bot Account (on the settings) i've the information that the account is linked... (see picture please)
Does anyone know something about this? I've already deleted the connection on both, twitch accounts + OBS.live, and i cannot solve this.

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Quick question: Is it possible to execute a certain command only by ONE specific user via streamelements? So that only this one person can execute the commands and no other user? You can assign the commands to groups (Everyone, Regular,...), but is it also possible to assign them to only one user? I know from a buddy that this is possible via the Streamlabs chatbot, but I don't want to have to use the Streamlabs chatbot just because of the one topic....

Hey everyone, just got nordvpn for streaming and servers seem very stable for 1080 60fps stream, but notice obs chat reconnects often and it doesn't do that when VPN is disabled. Ping/down/up is good (12/400 down/16 up) and do not lose frames when live. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

The top one is for the case that the video has its own audio.

Just adjust your alert volume in the alert editor, that way you can fine tune it to whatever works best in your stream.

im having an issue with memory leak in my stream, about 3 hours into the stream my obs was running at like 5.6GB of ram. if i upload the log file is that something anyone can see what the memory leak is and how to fix it?

Make sure your obs is updated. I can tell you I have been running the latest builds of obs.live and obs studio and streamed for 5+ hours without issue. Also there have been zero other reports of memory leaks with obs either here or in the obs discord, so it makes a tough case for it to be obs. I would suggest making sure all of your browser sources are set to shutdown when inactive in the browser source properties.

Hi - Im having 2 issues that I feel may be intertwined.

Everytime I start up OBS.LIVE the Custom Bot duplicates itself and I have to goto settings, reselect the custom bot, press save then test msg, to verify its working only one time. ( all commands / msgs / etc will duplicate in chat if not from the bot)

Secondly when I raid someone, 2 chat boxes show up ontop of OBS instead of just one for that persons stream.

How to fix these issues? Thanks

lol sorry about the late reply, i thought it fixed itself but it didnt :/ Not sure if frame drops is what im seeing, but my bitrate literally just drops to 0 and then stays there. Then OBS says reconnecting but takes like 5 minutes; its faster to close obs and re open it than wait for it to reconnect lol

Change it to advanced at the top, make sure it’s NVenc (New) and disable psycho visual tuning. Then try again

Hello. I recently changed my password on twitch (and nothing else besides that), and now the StreamElements bot won't work using my channel name. It used to work fine before I changed the password. I tried using a few simple commands, as well as the 'Send Test Message' button. If I set the current bot name back to StreamElements, it works fine.

it could be that obs.live is using a custom bot account and that account is not working properly, try selecting streamelements as the bot name from activity feed menu within obs > stream settings > custom bot name

Is it modded in your channel? If so, it will be picked up by us and the bot will get Moderator role in your SE account as well. It happens automatically with every mod in your channel.

Custom Chat commands and Timers stopped working. I had to put all custom commands in DeepBot.. If this is the case, I might as well use another platform if I can't have everything in one place.

Okay, I have a question about StreamElements. My friends and I are doing a team stream and sometimes we switch who is doing the streaming (we call this hosting; not to be confused with hosting on twitch). Does StreamElements keep things such as inputs and such local or is it connected to a server that will cause local to change if someone else changes settings for their PC. We are currently using StreamLabs and all our PCs are not set up the exact same way so it would be helpful if this was something only local so we are looking to switch.

Click on the cogwheel on the right side of your desktop audio source and then go to properties. In my case for example, since I use a special audio driver for some sound alerts, I have to select that driver there.
