To my understanding the portable version is just that - portable version of the software where you can place it in any folder without the need to install the software it self, which does not include installations of specific windows registries.
OBS.Live on the other hand requires 1 Windows registry to be added as a requirement and a default location of OBS Studio to be chosen if not chosen by default in the installer where specific files need to be added (exe file, DDL file, and some other things)

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hey peeps, anyone could help me out why I can't see the twitch stats dock and the other where I can edit the stream title etc? Had a failed to auth error first, then I disconnected stream twitch and connected again, now I don't get the error but the two docks are gone and cannot add it back. The twitch login where I need to add my stream key in the settings also doesn't work, I just get a blank white screen where I should login.

Ok y’all i’m having some issues with streaming on twitch with OBS, it usually runs around 1-1.5GB in memory to stream and runs flawlessly but now and then it will freeze and disconnect if i switch from my main scene to my BRB scene or even from my starting scene to my regular scene. And another issue is randomly it will start lagging my computer real bad and runs like 9.5GB and pushes my memory usage up to 95% and my GPU usage up to like 90%. I have a brand new laptop with 16GB memory and an 11th gen I7 quad core processor so i would think my system should be plenty

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

Oh I've figured out a few music options : NCS, streambeats, thefatrat, etc, I'm just trying to learn what the right way to actually attribute them is, as well as the best way to gather it all in a playlist for OBS live. On the Mac version of OBS.Live and the latest version of the StreamDeck software, there appears to be no StreamElements or OBS.Live integration at all?

• There is no mention of OBS.Live or StreamElements in the sidebar of the StreamDeck app.

Hi, Just getting my head around overlays (StreamElements). I have put some social icons in a custom widget. Each is linked to their, respective accounts. They are correctly coded in html to open a link in a new window, using the target_blank. However, the links do not work with a left click of a mouse (the standard, use). They do, however, work with a right click (not the preferred way). Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

So I just recently started using streamelements for my Twitch Alerts, I have the widget and all the variations set and added to a browser source in OBS but for some reason when I center it through streamelements dashboard it gets cutoff and will only show up on the left edge of my capture window. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Ever since I started streaming, I've been streaming 1080 no problem. My past 4 streams have disconnected and reconnected several times during stream. Last stream, I changed to 720 and no more drops. Hello. I have had a problem with the OBSLive plugin when moving windows. The chat button has disappeared and I can't put it back on. I have even uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it and it still does not appear.
I have noticed that when opening the plugin, the window appears for a couple of seconds, but it disappears again when the plugin is fully opened.
The system I am on is MacOSX.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello @sharp turret I have been trying to get my screen capture to work on OBS on my laptop and it was suggested to me that I change in my graphics settings for the app but I noticed that in my NVIDA Geforce app that it still using the high performance display options. Are you able to assist me with how to get it to over ride the GeForce application

Nope, so I dno if you play fortnite but theres a game chat and a party chat. If someone joins my lobby while I'm streaming, the voice chat icon disappears, but it's there when I don't stream... So i feel like OBS is doing something dodgy.

I've messed with the settings and made my headset default device and communication device, reinstalled drivers, tried using other headphones, reinstalled the game. Nothing is working. Is anyone else having issues with their stream stopping when you are changing scenes? I keep getting "An encoder error has occurred while streaming" notice but none of the encoder settings I'm messing with are changing the outcome. can anyone help?

Did you check out your audio sound settings maybe? Like made real tek at one point I was having the issues to when I was playing Runescape 😆 then realized it wasn't on the right sound setting it was on my tv audio as I use that as my 2nd monitor then switched it, was working just fine. Sometimes some settings just little tricky but once you have it down not as bad

But just from using obs my self I just try to help when I can ^_^ even if can't always get around to help everyone @weary moat I hope that helped little though, best I could

1. Right-click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Since yesterday my custom bot name is not working. I think it is since I enabled 2FA on my bot account. I have a bot account named "FloofermerBot" and it was set up correctly until yesterrday it now defaults back to the streamelements bot name. Now when I click the "connect custom bot account" button it opens up the login page where I input the bot username and password and then it asks me to authorize. I click authorize but nothing seems to have changed. I repeat these steps and it does the same each time. Any suggestions?
edit: I have tried turning off 2FA and still no effect. No idea why this isn't working suddenly.

There is no default way and I believe we have it blocked so that no website can be loaded into the overlay even via custom widget.
I might be wrong but you can ask in #dev-chat if that is possible via custom widget

Yeah, it's probably just a dumb detection, not you - but maybe you should know about it, since the official download installs as OBS.Live and that prevents the auto streamer mode to work

Hello I'm trying to open up obs and I keep getting pop ups saying "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found." I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it gives me the same pop up. How can I fix this?
