I'm having trouble with connecting my Custom bot to Obs.live

I go through the process of logging in, verification and then give access to Streamelements

and then I click done and then the login window closes and it's still not connected

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hey all so I have been having a problem with OBS taking up 30% of my cpu. I have isolated the problem to the browser source that my overlay is on. I feel so stupid right now haha, why are my overlays always so tiny and not fitting like I want them to? For example, I am trying to add a chat box to my stream and it's so small. I have to change the font to 100 just to see it. I made the resolution for the browser source 1920x1080 too. Not only that, but it doesn't fit correctly in the little red outlined box while moving overlays around. Sorry for the paragraph!

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

The base canvas resolution is 2560x1440, but I downscale it to 1920x1080. I got it to work by keeping the chat box overlay at 1920x1080 and just moving the chat box around in the overlay editor on the streamelements website. However, if I need to quickly move my chat box do I need to go to the website to move it?

It would be best to edit the chat box in the overlay itself, and leave the browser source as is for the best result

Moving it in OBS might not reflect the change you want. It may work, but doing it in the overlay editor will keep you from needing to adjust OBS

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Greetings gents! I have an 'issue' of sorts. Since my headphones are used as the default audio output device in OBSlive, the audio that my viewers hear are passed through a filter on my headphones which I frankly, can't seperate due to its limitations. ((Logitech G X Pro Wireless). So what I would love to do, is see if you guys know if its possible to use "RealTek" audio in a way, or somehow make OBS listen to my desktop without passing the audio via my own headphones. So like 2 seperate desktop audios if that makes it clear. Appreciate any help coming my way ❤️

Go into obs settings > audio > disable everything.

In your scenes, add audio output device sources for whatever audio devices you have (headphones, speakers, line out, etc).

In windows sound settings, assign specific apps to use specific hardware outputs, which you can then adjust within obs to create a “mix” if you will.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding overlays.. so: I wanted to have seperate overlays for each game that I play & my thought process behind this was that I wanted to keep the alerts, sounds (basically everything) the same but depending on the game, the alerts would cover up important info of the game, so my solution was to duplicate the main overlay around 3 times (because i play 3 different games) so i could move and save the position of the alerts on each overlay depending on the game so it doesn't cover anything up (& I wouldn't have to remake the whole overlay with the alerts and such). Then I would make a browser source in each game scene in OBS-StreamElements and implement the URL of the specific game overlay. The problem with all of this is that i noticed that whenever i switch to the other game scenes (where i have the 2 other duplicated but changed up overlays in there), they basically copy the positions of the stuff i moved and saved in my 'valorant overlay' so it basically saves all the settings for every duplicated overlay. Since It took me a hot minute to set the main overlay up with everything, I wanted to ask if i have to make normal seperate overlays and delete the duplicated ones in order for the alerts to stay where i want them to be in every different game? Or is there a way to fix this without having to re-do everything?

Every browser source is a chrome browser. If you have seen the memes about Chrome and RAM, it's always better to have a single browser source than to have multiple. Sometimes there is no choice (like when using a Tiltify/Extra-Life/St. Jude overlay), but it is preferable to have a single overlay with all of your widgets/labels in it than to try to use a browser source for each widget/label.

Hey guys, i'm using Stream Elements for my animated overlays and for some reason my Obs is running 30% cpu when streaming (usually it's 5) and when i remove the animated overlays on stream elements the % drops. any ideas why ?

oh do the data fields impact what the overlay gets? I thought they data gets forwarded to the widget and it does the logic

both subs and resubs come through right? My widget checks the "count" field to see if its a resub. But in this case it should be fresh

not sure why but anyone have any tips on how to resolve alerts not popping up while I'm streaming. It's happened a couple times now that the alert isn't appearing when a new person follows or someone hosts my stream. The only one that seemed to work was the raid alert.

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Note that This may cause issues so it would also be advised to separate your overlays into things that are safe to keep open (overlay images) and things to be shut down (alert boxes).

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi there! I'm using a StreamDeck alternative called TouchPortal for controlling graphics and as a soundboard. In order for the app to connect to OBS it needs a second plugin called OBS-Websockets, which works fine with the latest version of OBS. However, OBS.Live seems to be running version 26 instead of 27; the OBS.Live website says that OBS.Live is compatible with OBS version 27, but even if I fully uninstall and reinstall both base OBS and OBS.Live, OBS.Live is only running version 26 OBS, which isn't compatible with the plugin I need. Checking for update within the app does nothing. Anyone know of a way to make OBS.Live use version 27, or is it just not available for Macs yet?

6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

my obs keeps uploading from 3000kb to 300kb then stays low after 1 hour to 20mins it go's to 0kb and dies after this im unable to end the streaming in obs as it does nothing when i click on it this issue has been happing for last few days i have two internet sources and its doing it on both

Bitrate always indicates a network issue, not much we can do here. Change the ingest server, check that your network is stable and if not - talk to your ISP

@nova scaffold thank you its happening on multiple ISP so i don't think its this issue i have the Bitrate only running at 3000kb with a ISP Bitrate of 8kb on one connection and 12kb on the other i only use one with obs i have used auto wizard to fix setting and still having this issue

never had this issue in the 6 months streaming in my new place

Remove the auto wizard settings, set up the stream yourself, including the CBR mode (constant bitrate) and other settings.

That should be the first step if you see weird things happening

And i would still check connections, upload has to be stable

no, you will need to copy all files/assets over to the new device.

a quick way to replicate it is to download the obs profile from your pc and load it on your laptop

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

It works perfectly when emulating an event in the overlay editor but when activating a gift alert on the actual obs live, from the activity feed, it triggers both the sub and gift animations at the same time. i'm not 100% sure this will solve your problem, but there is the checkbox in the variation settings that picks an alert randomly if it meets 2 or more requirements. you could try toggling that off 🤷‍♂️

Hi, I'm relatively new to streaming and I was trying to set up soundalerts using stream elements on my system. I'm able to emulate the animation but not the sound. Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.
