6. Navigate to the Console tab

8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

I did that and ran through the process of setting up my bot again she joins the chat and everything but the "send test message" does not work and nor does commands... I really believe this has something to do with the user management showing the wrong name as the broadcaster...

Make sure that you have your default audio output (where your game audio plays) added as an audio output source in your scene

Typically the recommendation for audio is to disable everything that’s set to default in obs settings > audio and then add your inputs/outputs directly to your scene as input/output sources

hello again, im sorry but i thought the issue had been fixed and it seems that it wasnt. so the exact issue that im having it once i plug my headset into my ps4, all my game audio that was going to OBS goes away..ive never had this issue before as this is the same headset that ive always used for both PC and ps4 (Razer Kraken v 7.1) i was using stream labs before and this issue only started up has of yesterday. the audio output is set to my capture card which is connected from ps4 to pc but i just cant seem to solve it

Hey! I figured out the echo problem! Apparently,when I set up my redemption in the Stream Store, I'd checked every method of redemption (website, chat, extension), which made the sound echo. Once I unchecked all the options but one (and reuploaded the sound for some of them) I was OK!

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hi I use OBS studio along with OBS Live and I set up an alert box and all of my alerts will play on stream and show in the OBS Live activity feed dock except for follower alerts. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my account. I tried making a copy of the overlay and using the new URL. I even made an entirely new overlay from scratch to see if that would work. When I emulate the follower alert it works but when I'm actually live nothing plays for followers

I've tried to use a custom bot account setting with obs live, but every time I go through the process and click authorise no other user names are added in the drop down window. Sometimes I have a "continue setup" popup in my activity feed dock that disappears for a second when I boot up obs, but that's it. Reinstalled 26.1 from the Link under pinned messages and still have two activity feeds. If I export my scenes, nuke the install settings and all, and import them, will I lose anything ? I had updated OBS Studio when it asked, and it put two activity feeds into my Dock. My Bot Commands were being sent twice to chat. Sudo told me to Downgrade OBS from 27 to 26.1

First of all, you can also export profiles, not just scene collections - that includes OBS Settings. If you export both you might not lose much when you reinstall, if anything at all.
You can also "Show Settings Folder" from the File menu and manually copy them. This is just in case you want to try uninstalling again with "remove settings".

About your issue - do you mean that the bot replies twice, or your commands show up twice in chat?

Commands are showing twice and Bots are showing twice.

So a Simple Shoutout command displays twice in chat. If a user does a command for a sound lets say, it shows twice, plays twice.

Both Feeds are seeing the bot commands and responding.

Only one bot present in chat though.

there are unfortunately no 'best practice' settings we can advise on that will make stream 100% stable and sharp and crisp

each setup and each PC show different behavior. even GTARP has its own specific settings you can work with to make it look better on stream

mmmm cannot be certain. back in the day I simply watched a lot of videos from creators that talked about their setups and maybe got a bit more technical

I suggest maybe spending a day or two on testing
like start stream see how it looks in the browser, see what's bothering you, then go over the available settings in OBS and try to tweak a relevant setting
then start stream again and see exactly what has change. and repeat

at some point you'll find something you like. and even afterward I'm sure you'll stumble upon 'trade secrets' p:

I have a gif animation that I want to use as a subscriber alert that has a fairly clear beginning and end to the animation, it works fine when I use it in the SE browser editor via the Alertbox, but the problem is when the animation is used multiple times it ends up starting in the middle of the animation instead of at the beginning.

Is there a way to ensure that the gif always starts at the beginning when the sub alert is triggered?

Looks correct. The only thing i could suggest here is to check Hardware Acceleration in the advanced settings in OBS.

mmm 1pc streaming can indeed show issues if there's too much going on. Is your stream still stable, but your game is just capped to 100FPS?
FPS would usually be related to the PC's resources and in game graphics settings

The YouTube gets signal when logged out, the only thing that stops me from streaming is that pop up window which says "Start Streaming to YouTube"

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I think this is the right place for this issue? This is probably a really dumb issue that is an easy fix but I am out of ideas. My alerts are playing in OBS, and if I test them in SE preview online the audio plays, but when the alert plays in OBS during stream and replaying alerts there is no audio.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hey! I'm getting a really annoying issue with obs since a couple of days. Randomly after 10 minutes, 30 or an hour, Streamelements Obs freezes and the stream goes off. I can even read chat (I have 0.0% dropped frames) but when I press the Stop streaming button it doesn't work and Obs just don't work anymore and I can't close it unless I close it with the task manager (Kind of, because I can still see other Obs stuff in the task manager but they doesn't close). I'll really appreciate if someone could give me some help with this!

I deleted the alert box and created my own overlays in Streamelements, but I really want my old alerts back, GIFs and all. If you're using it with OBS.Live, there are known compatibility issues so we suggest falling back to 26 for the time being

You'd have to look at what images/videos are used in the overlay. Custom coded things or 20MB+ and non supported files for sure (like mkv/avi/mov), missing files (they are in SLOBS config, but they are missing on harddrive) may cause it to fail.

Greetings! I am having an issue within OBS with Stream Elements. Ever since I changed my Twitch username last night and logged out and back in using my new username, none of the custom chat commands I created show up on either the chat window or on my Twitch chat feed...

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello. I recently have an issue with my alerts where the sound suddenly stopped working. No updates happened, I was in the middle of a stream, so I changed no settings and the most that happened is I was away for an hour (in the middle of a long term stream). I'm using StreamElements and when I downloaded Soundtrack by Twitch it completely removed my Desktop Audio and now my game can't be heard when I try to stream. I've deleted Soundtrack but the problem is still there, what do I need to do to fix this???

Trying to set up the custom bot name and it's not working.
I click connect custom bot name -> log into the custom bot twitch account -> click authorize -> the authorize window closes and then I'm back to square one and nothing's changed.

I think I've checked everything off on the list (Created another account, Using OBS.Live, Connected Stream Elements and modded it, added a stream elements tipping link to the twitch panels). Also should note that it worked once for the first day I tried it but has not since.
I scrolled through the pins but couldn't find an answer to my issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, my widgets/overlays (set up in streamelements dahboard) are not showing up on the actual stream. I can see it on obs (the red lines where its positioned); but no actual overlay like follower goal. How can I solve this?

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

You should be able to go to the Streamelements Menu > OBS.Live Docks > "Activity Feed" (if you aren't using OBS.Live, then: View > Docks > "Stream Information"). If it was there, it was likely the stream information one

You also have to be logged in in Settings > Stream because these are not OBS.Live panels.

Why is your overlay not 1920x1080? Because that is the default size of our overlays

No. You always use 1920x1080

The overlay will look like it does in the editor, so at 1920x1080 it will still be in the corner like you have it set in the editor

Using OBS.live on a mac. No problems with behavior of anything during stream, but the online backup system is behaving strangely. Went to do a backup of current settings and it says out of space. When I attempt to delete an old backup to free some space I just get a spinny “wait” cursor and OBS becomes unresponsive. It stays that way for a very long time. Eventually I have to force quit the application. Anybody have any advice? Is there an alternate online way to manage the backups?

Error message. Dialog to delete (I selected the oldest backup). And the force quit window showing OBS.Live is unresponsive. EDIT: I logged out and back in before doing this.

No. The installation was a clean install of the OBS.Live mac download.
