My streamelements follower and sub counts are off only for a certain thing. Like goal counts are right on one and totals are right on another

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

when you added the overlay, did you add it as 1920 x 1080?

all overlays are that resolution no matter the number of widgets. If you add them at other resolutions they won't display correctly

The reason that overlays are that resolution are so you can add multiple widgets to a single overlay and have a single source in your scene instead of 30 with other platforms.

I believe it scrolls similar to twitch chat by default. I don't know if you can edit the widget to scroll the other way. There may be another widget in #widget-share that does have that capability that you can add to your overlay.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

hey everyone, sorry for a nooby question, but is anyone here using the Soundtrack by Twitch with SE OBS.Live? I have a problem of soundtrack being present in the audio output as thus being present in clips/recordings. I’ve followed the instructions from Twitch and some YouTubers on making sure the tracks are properly selected in Advanced Mixer Options, but alas it did not help. do I need some additional hardware to being able to have a clear separation of the desktop audio and twitch soundtrack?

To separate desktop audio and mixers the best option I can give you is Voicemeeter banana and the virtual audio cable suggestion. You can find tutorials on how to set it up and separate your audios on YouTube as there's a lot of them.

Exactly. You can route audios to different areas such as routing music to your headphones and game audio to your stream. Or music to your stream and gameplay to your headset

5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Make sure your source has the correct resolution and format before you try to fit it

OBS canvas format and game resolution format have to be identical

and caps does not help you to get a response faster. be polite and we solve your issue

Downscale affects the output resolution.

You select your canvas (usually 1920x1080, 16:9 format), then you need to run your games in a 16:9 resolution to scale it without black bars (if you run the game on 21:9 you get black bars top and bottom etc.).
And the downscale affects the stream OUTPUT resolution, so if you set the output to 1280x720 - this will be your stream resolution

If you use OBS.Live you need to do 2 things to change the streaming platform.

1. change the streaming settings in OBS
2. top menu - StreamElements - Logout - then log in with the correct channel that you want to use

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

The goal widgets are pretty primitive and can be set to a deadline but they count over the deadline and you need to manually reset them.

I suggest a workaround - to use the timed widgets and set them to "montly" and make them look like a goal (add /"number" to the text field) - they do reset automatically and on time that you set

Hello, I'm a little new to streaming but I've kind of hit my wits end on this specific issue my partner and I have been having with OBS.live

We get dropped network frames a lot, and have tried almost everything from the official OBS page of things to do about dropped frames. It will be fine a few days with no dropped frames, then bam, it becomes awful again.

I'd assume it was a specific game issue if it wasn't for the fact that we've been able to stream intensive games (like Apex Legends) fine some days and not fine other days.

And again, we've tried a lot of things from the official documentation about dropped network frames, and none of them have solved this specific issue. I can send a list of things we have and haven't been able to try (due to my lack of knowledge on how to do some of them), if needed.

I've also tried asking the official OBS discord and they can't really offer much help, it seems... And I wondered if it was an issue with our connection to Streamelements servers, or something of that flavor.

Streamelements has labels within the online overlay, so you wouldn't need to use the file system like that You should be able to direct the label to the right number/amount within the editor

Connections to us wouldn't really change your frame rate, as the plugin for OBS doesn't mess with game capture. Usually frame drops are a result of the connection to twitch itself, have you tried the bandwidth tester?

You mean speedtest? Yes, we've even configured out bitrate and such all to fit it.
Like I said it will be fine for a few days, no dropped network frames or anything, then one day it'll just all go to crap, without any settings being changed on our end, or any significant changes from our ISP or anything like that...

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

I was considering that, our router likes to detect false positive DoS attacks and it can cause our connection to become really bad, but as of recent (as in today and yesterday; a few days before yesterday was perfect streaming with no frames dropped or false positive DoS attacks either) our connection has been bad without those popping up.

We were considering just replacing the router to see if that helps since Netgear routers are notorious for those false positives, but since the connection issues are still happening without those, I worry that replacing the router would be for nothing

I'm new here and I have a strange problem where I can't connect my custom Twitch bot account to OBS.Live, it only lets me use the default "StreamElements" account for chat commands and I don't know why. The problem only started recently so I'm not sure what's going on. Would anyone be able to guide me the right direction to fix this? So far Google/Reddit has been a let-down

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

hi, i was wondering if anyone has this issue.. I start OBS live then i have no desktop audio. I go to settings>Audio and it says "Device not connected or not available" then i set it to disable>apply then i select it from the drop down menu and hit apply.. i set my filters and it works.. next time i start obs live- the same i have to re-do all that every time i start obs live.. anyone has a fix for this ? it started 1 week ago..

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hello, I am having an issue where when I am recording on OBS all my audio is fine. Soon as I test an alert the audio stutters then completely cuts out for the rest of the recording. Multiple game capture means you have multiple game capture sources in your scenes. This is not critical, but i would try to remove them.

The 1.3% rendering lag means that your hardware is sometimes overloaded and you lose 1,3% frames due to rendering lag - so you need to drop the settings a bit to free up the performance. This is again not critical.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Dunno the correlation, but I may have found a bug after hours of trying to figure out if it was me or not. But if you use the OBS.live plugin and go to edit an overlay (especially alerts), if the audio is muted, it'll double the audio. If you go through the website and send a test alert, it sends it normally (once). Found using a Elgato Wave 3 microphone (checked my WaveLink settings for hours to see if it was just me). 😐

Thank you @toxic fern and @long bobcat I have OBS.live v26.1.2 on Mac with not updates available for v27 when I check. I’m running StreamDeck software v5 and when I search the plugins like you have shown there... StreamElements OBS.Live is not there.

Hey guys I seriously need some help. I'm using OBS Live and when I stream whether its on facebook or twitch it doesnt matter... When I'm sitting in a game lobby I'm getting a full 60 frames with zero issue. When I drop into a game my frames tank down to about 18-30 FPS. This issue just started last night. I have been streaming for 8 months with the same settings. Havent changed a thing and have had zero issue up until now. I really need help man...

This is a stream issue. I still get 125-140 FPS on my gaming monitor when playing the game. Its the stream that is losing frames. On OBS Live it doesn't say any frames have been dropped. I've run a speed test and my upload and download speed is very fast.. My internet is getting excellent signal. I dunno what else to do.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

It appeard this message on my obs "encoder overload" this only appears when i play some games and in obs the fps drop to 10 while in game im with 100+. I already tried to do some resolutions, encoder, stream quality changes but didnt solved.

You will want to name your scene profile and source collections something other than untitled or it will break the backup/restore

Hi this may be very easy to fix but I can't find a solution anywhere on the internet. I changed my Twitch username and in the bot the "broadcaster" name does not reflect the new name and therefore is not working I think. I have tried logging out and longing back in in on the site and on obs live but nothing updates the name I also tried deleting the user "broadcaster" in User Management, so I don't know what to do now...

I did log out and back in, the name does not change under bot it does at the top however.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again
