No, the bitrate has nothing to do with your hardware.

Lower the preset, FPS and/or resolution, check that your hardware is working correctly and about crashes/freezes - you have to google that information specific for that game, we do not have the capability to diagnose those issues.

My chat dock on OBS won't work, as in it's not letting me send messages from it, and when I click the settings its saying 'error loading data'. The only thing I've changed recently is my Twitch username, but it all seems to have updated in Streamelements after disconnecting and reconnecting my account. Any clue?

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hi, why does OBS.Live reset my audio inputs when I re-open it sometimes? Does unplugging things like microphones or turning on and off my stream audio driver automatically change inputs? Otherwise, I wonder if it is my audio driver app because I am on a mac and capturing desktop audio is a trip.

Not sure about how that works on Mac. On Windows if you unplug a device or re-initialize a driver, OBS will drop that device from the selection and change the device output/input.

bit of a UI specific question.. but I currently am running 4k monitors @ 175% DPI scale.. is there any way to make the headers on docks for obs live smaller? at 175% DPI scale some of the elements (close button, refresh button etc) are huge (screenshot provided, left being obs live dock, right being regular obs dock)

Not really, those are scaled with Windows.

I recommend to avoid the Windows scaler alltogether as it is still, after years of being a nightmare... still not really reliable.

Keep it at 100% and use the internal tools for each program to scale the UI etc. - will save you those moments.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Do you have an alert that will play below 50 bits? The main alert should do this and it also needs TTS - if you only have the variations that start at 50+ with TTS, it will start at 50+

I have built the new mobo cpu and ram.
I made a test with Hunt Showdown offstream, active preview, encoding on nvenc at 6000 bitrate.
After 15 minutes I collected those datas while doing some heavy stuff in the game fighting against a boss

this means that on stream too everything will run smooth?
The cpu load while playing was around 35-40% (with the previous cpu was peaking at 100% resulting in a 5fps stream)

I am inputting some commands as tests, and nothing happens.

Did you uninstall both of them and reinstall the correct OBS version?

Try to edit the main alert first for the 1bit. I have set the minimum to 0 for you, does not matter if 0 or 1.

Check each variation please and remove conflicting variations that do not work with TTS.

The Minimum Bit Amount for TTS is in the General Alert menu tho but that doesnt work

Hi guys, I've just updated OBS.Live to the most recent version and since the software loaded up post-install, my webcam sources all show a black screen. Every now and then the webcam will flash up for a split second as I change to another scene but that's it. I've checked other software and the webcam works fine in them (it's definitely activated in OBS too 😉 ). I've opened up base OBS and the camera feed shows fine. It's only when using the OBS.Live from StreamElements that it seems to fail - and it's only been since the update. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm almost certain that is normal. You have probably added a delay via your overlay software which is usually around 2 seconds

you have no choice.... the plugin apparently is able to require a refresh token to auth you against twitch but it is not doing it on its own... so you have to basically check every time you go live whether the obslive plugin is signed in and if no, sign in and set the bots name

its a mess, given that the gui for this is html/css and the backend necessary is not within your local obs anyways it would be a fingersnap for them to just put that option onto their website, but they don't do it instead they ship update after update for their broken plugin, which requires you to restart the pc 🤦‍♂️ 🤦 🤦‍♀️

Yes, OBS.Live is not 100% stable with OBS Studio V27 now, we can't fully recommend it. There are minor issues, nothing crazy, but it might break some functionality.

Hello, is there anyway way to have some kind of set delay for audio with with Alerts in streamelements? I checked my alerts to see how delayed my audio was and adjusted it so they were in sync, they were all perfect and tested multiple times, I come on today and they are now massively out of sync again. Am I just going to have to have a generic sound that doesn't need to be sync'd or is there a way to get this right?

Having an issue where my Chat dock isn't working. Nothing loads, nothing I type in will send, and when I click the settings it just says "Error Loading Data". I have removed and added the dock several times, but can't figure out what's going on. I did recently change my twitch name, and this seems to be when it broke. Any ideas?

Hey guys. Could anyone help me figure out why the preview of my capture card in OBS seems a bit blurred while the 4k Capture utility app seems fine? I wanted to record in obs and keep it at it's default canvas of 1440p for the recording but it's just less quality. The first screenshot here is of the OBS one. You can see the text is not as clear as the 2nd screenshot in 4k Capture which just looks the same as it does on my first PC

just switched over the Chrome and the issue is still there. It's not that the font isn't showing correctly in the overlay editor it's that it won't show correctly in OBS, just this one font though, others seem to work

Here's a step by step which should cover it all - Add Label > Followers > Total & All-time > Total Followers >Select Layer for this new label > Text Settings > Pick a font > Passion One > Save

I then refresh in OBS and it defaults to a font that's like Times New Roman

in the future if you see weird behavior with some widgets updating and some not, it might be worth a try:
right click the relevant browser source > properties > scroll down > refresh cache of current page
then from the activity feed reload your overlays
not a guaranteed solution but I consider it a necessary troubleshooting step

3. If it doesn't crash, install OBS.Live too.

Some reason, it get's ot about 93% importing from stream labs then fails, with no specific reason. Any ideas?

usually imports fail when there's an asset larger than 30mb in the SLOBS setup
you can keep them locally but delete them from slobs
you'll be able to upload them to your SE overlays manually afterward (but it'll need to be less than 30mb still)

Don't think I have anything over 30mb's I did have music in starting and ending, did delete but double checked and they're only 8mb's each maximum.

The thing about the crash is it comes up with a dialogue asking me if I want to save the crashlog to the clip board with a yes or no option, until I click either button. So OBS is crashed, but also not crashed

Hey guys, Just a quick question and i hope i don't butcher this lol. Basically i'm playing a horror game for tomorrows stream and i was hoping to set up how my stars will work, I was going to have 300 stars would be a guaranteed jump scare on me but only like 50 stars would give you a 20% chance of jump scare with an 80% chance of random funny GIF's/Alerts. @restive flax so what are your settings in voicemeter then. You know you need to change the input if you changed the microphone right? And on the other end you might have to counter-check with OBS if it picks up the correct input by going into the settings. It can't auto detect those changes.

You did not even mention this before you're running this on a VM right? What VM software do you use did you make sure the device actually is not being disconnected by the VM in some weird handshake procedure. There is many points of failure in this chain, if you just made sure to like run it in a simpler manner maybe then you would see it actually work for e.g. running it without a VM, and seeing if that helps then completely disabling OBS.Live to reach through into OBS. That way you isolate the culprit inside your setup instead of asking around where the point of failure might be. Otherwise you're handing yourself around like a towel in case of finding the issue. It has to be specific to your setup and there I know that's tedious but without any further information such as screenshots, event logs I don't think anyone can help you here. As inevitably we'll glance over an aspect that might is important. If it's only for your livestream you could also use a plugin iirc and try and replace voicemeter is not even needed for that anymore i think.

You have to go into your StreamElements dashboard either through OBS.Live by clicking into your browser source with your overlay then clicking the button "Open in StreamElements Overlay Editor" or your browser and visiting streamelements and logging in then onto your overlay (if you have none create one) here you can click the + symbol bottom left add your alerts click settings for your alert type under the tab Layout you can select the way it's presented pick the first option for that.

Not that I'm trying to interfere in your business, but if you are going to sell your computer and want to clean it, don't you think resetting the Windows would be the best option?
Anyway, if you want to completely uninstall OBS.Live and you are getting an error, you can go to the installation folder and click on Uninstall.exe in there. In case the issue still persists, you can then reinstall OBS and after that you try to uninstall it again.

In case you want to manually remove the folders, they are on the following path (not recommended):
C:\Program Files\obs-studio
%appdata%\obs-studio

1. No chat bot with FB right now, they did not give us the API access to do that.
2. Total follower count is also unavailable, do you mean that? We only start counting followers after you join SE, we don't have access to how many followers you had before that.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

I am using the Elgato 4k60 Pro Mk2 to capture in my 2pc setup.
I've noticed that when i use the Elgato software "4k Capture Utility". It looks exactly like the source and is crystal clear.

In the OBS preview though i can see that it seems very slightly blurred? It's easiest to see when looking at text. I can't figure out how to fix this. Again, this is before recording or streaming. This is just in preview so it is there in recordings also

So you're just capturing 1440p? The Elgato should recognize it as 1440p and as long as you're adding the capture card as 1440p it should display just fine. I've used the HD60 Pro and my output is 720 and it still looks crystal clear in preview and on stream.

The capture card on OBS has the Resolution/FPS Type set to Device Default. I tried manually putting 1440p on it as a custom but it just goes black and and has nothing on the preview @kindred fox

Is it an OBS 27 issue?

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

Alerts are playing the sound but not the video in OBS. I think this started last night but it may have started when OBS updated to 27. I just uninstalled OBS.Live and OBS Studio and reinstalled version 26.1.1 of OBS Studio along with OBS.Live again per Sudo's pinned instructions but it didn't fix anything.

OK, I added my Alerts SE Theme to a new scene and it totally works, so what does that mean? It is the same browser source as my other scenes.

Hi, I am using SE overlays for my streams but the browser source kind of lags. It works fine once it loads but the loading itself takes around 5 seconds which makes switching between scenes kinda awkward lol. I'm like 'bye' - *5 seconds of waiting for end screen to appear. I came across this post https://www.reddit.com/r/streamelements/comments/8ogele/overlays_streamed_or_directly/ with someone claiming there's a fix or workaround. Would love to know what I can do to fix it 🙂

I'm confused why swapping between two profiles that are both Twitch accounts makes OBS.Live react properly (OBS.Live updates its panel orientation and configuration to reflect the different Twitch account) but switching to an OBS profile that's for a YouTube account is just ignored by OBS.Live and it continues to display the Twitch stuff for the wrong profile. Is OBS.Live open source? Can I help contribute a fix?

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

The alerts I had that once worked are still broken, my hardware acceleration is on, but still doesnt work

They worked fine for a while, but now the visual part of the alert just isnt showing up, I hear the audio from the alert, but no visual. I have refreshed the cache, repasted the URL & such, restarted PC / OBS, , uninstalled and reinstalled gpu drivers, still broken, I did nothing to it and it stopped working. I see the alert on the SE website overlay editor, it just doesnt show on my OBS

Right click source -> properties -> screenshot the properties. Make sure you edit out the overlay link to avoid leaking it

We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Text not showing up over your alerts? Go to the Advanced Text Settings and set the top margin to 50, you can work your way to the right position from there.

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)

5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.
