we don't recommend using your own name as the bot name, either create a new account or choose the default bot name

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, one question, I'm currently helping a friend, who's StreamElements suddenly stopped reacting to commands (also no join message). We tried to mute and unmute, part channel and join channel and also log out and log in again.
We checked the commands, online, offline, and both, User levels, cooldowns and command costs.

The only thing that is currently working are the custom commands for the "Stream-Store" voice commands.

So it "feels" like the bot is muted, when it clearly says in the dashboard it is not muted. Is there any log or similar option I could check? Because setting wise, it should work, but sadly doesn't. If a channel name is needed, I can provide that, and I have all the clearance to change settings of needed.

Thanks in advance for your time, and I hope together we can get this fixed.

Edit: forgot to mention, he is using OBS Studio, so there should be no settings involved on this side

Heyo, ever since I changed my username, OBS.live has been unable to connect to my Twitch chat. Should I disconnect my Twitch from OBS.live then reconnect it?

"/unmute" does not exist in Twitch-Chat, "/unban" responds with "streamelements is not currently banned from this channel." and the bot is still visible as a moderator. We did not try /unmod and /mod, since that should have no influence on the functionality. (mod and unmod tested in other channel)

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.

Hello all, I am having an issue with my overlay in OBS and I was hoping to find some help. I have a bug with my computer that when using hardware acceleration with a browser and playing a game at the same time that causes movement to stutter. Videos, scrolling things, etc. I think that is happening with my StreamElements overlay in OBS. When I have a game running, my scrolling text for subs, donations, and follows starts stuttering just like videos do.

Is there a way to disable hardware acceleration for the overlay scene in OBS?

Good day hope your doing well im if someone could tell me why i have this issue i have one of those cheap capture cards that are about 15 to 40 dollar (not sure if you’ve seen them) and i bought it and hooked it up to my Sony camcoder and for first 2 days it worked and then obs couldn’t recognise it any more and so i restart my pc and it recognized it but 2 minutes later loses it and I exchange the product and it does the same thing some times it works for 2 hours and disconnects, im not sure what the issue is.If you can pls help me pls do id really appreciate it

Let's say it like that.. there is a reason why normal capture cards cost 100$+.
Get yourself an Elgato Camlink and be happy. It is not perfect, but good enough for the camera.

You can test that device on your own. We can't help with hardware issues, specially for cheap devices that nobody would really recommend.

if you added a browser component to obs, just refresh it

otherwise you might wanna re open the link to the overlay design, paste it in the browser source add on and then refresh it

Hi! I got some issues with OBSLive while doing my last streams. It just stops to stream all along, my bitrate falls to zero and I must force quit the program twice before I can start my stream again. And I don't know if it is related to this issue but I have also been getting an authentication error with twitch. 1. Click on your channel name at the top of the dashboard
2. Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
3. Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted

Switched from slobs to obs studio today and I do not see my alerts pop up on obs studio when I "emulate" or test the alert on stream elements.
I did the whole 1920x1080 and copying the browser link shebang.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Hi, friends. After switching recently to windows 10, OBS seems to use a tremendous amount of CPU, often maxing it, causing lag. My browser alerts all stutter, too, even with browser acceleration turned on in OBS.

I think whatever my problem is, it's related to browser alerts from Streamlabs.com

I’m still having trouble with any stream element widget showing up on obs studio.

My alerts, for example, literally worked for 10 mins and now it’s gone. (Even had a friend help me out by showing my screen).

I’m not sure if this is a thing but I think obs studio and stream elements is not communicating well?

Hi! I am getting this error in OBS.Live app, So far, I have - removed the bot from my channel, unmod, remod, logged out and logged in, re authenticated the stream key, cleared cache, a few commands just randomly broke, and I cannot figure it out AT ALL.

I also uninstalled, reinstalled. I am running as admin.. Used cloud back up, then reinstalled didnt use cloudback up...

@vagrant flume If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Again - if the sound is doubled, then there is more than one source playing the sound. You need to find the 2nd source and stop it.

You can only use ONE overlay with that media request source or you run into issues like multiple sound sources and increased CPU usage.
You can use the "shutdown source when not visible" button for the overlays to prevent them from loading on other scenes in the background.

Hello, I saw that the Kappagen Overlay is mostly fixed in that it displays Twitch Channel and Global emotes again (thats awesome), however when I try to enable emotesplosions for cheers it only shows the assigned cheer symbol as emotes in the explosions. Any idea why that is?
Apart from that I was also wondering if merch store purchases are meant to be triggering emotesplosions when the "purchases" box is ticked - bc right now its not.

@quasi furnace Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hi! I learned how to add sound commands to StreamElements using the Store, but when I trigger them using OBS, I get a weird echo effect. For instance, I have a sound sample as one command of a boy talking. If I test it more than once, the echo effect kicks in and it sounds like I have a whole kindergarten class talking. How do I fix this? Also, I'd like text to show up in the command, as well as the sound. What do I do?

@frozen light If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

So I set up my sound alerts, and they work, but they're echoing. In fact, every time I test them, the echo gets worse. So I Googled some answers, and I found this: "When you add an overlay, don't add it as a new source in your scenes. When you need to add it to OBS, click add scene then click "use existing source" and add it from that menu instead of making a new source." It works, but that means I have to create a separate scene for each source. And, I'd have to re add my cameras, etc. for each one. That seems like overkill...

Voicemeeter is a complex beast and when it breaks it’s a pain to troubleshoot. Breaking obs down to inputs/outputs outside of Voicemeeter is the easiest way to get you back up and running

4. Start OBS.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

To be able to use emotes, the bot needs to be subscribed to your channel.
The only way would be to either use a bot account that is a sub and in your control, or to gift a sub to StreamElements.
Partners can ask Twitch to perma-sub a bot, but this option is only available to Twitch partners and not affiliates.

So it looks like since I had my testing stream set to Private that it was not connecting to chat correctly. I then set it to UNLISTED and the Chat Box appeared correctly but the Streamelement's Chat Bot was not showing up. I think I am going to run some Public livestream tests to see what happens ;^)

There also appears to not be a way to simulate a CHAT Event, so that was what I had been having an issue with.

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

When I'm installing a new font on my OS (Win10) and use it in OBS.live it's gone after a PC reboot. How can I fix this problem?
I tried installing it by doubleclicking -> install and by drag & drop in the "Fonts" folder already. It's still inside the folder after rebooting but OBS won't use it until it's re-installed. (Have to agree the replacement as well every time)

Hello, I run two different companies twitch streams and I'm having a problem with OBS live not remembering the two profiles settings when I sign in. Specifically the activity feed.

When I swap the profile the activity feed loads as the last profile signed in. Never used to do this.

The only way I can get it to work is to sign out of stream elements and sign back in which is a pain considering that I have to get a new code each time.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

for some reason i am not able to resize my screens in the preview. I do not have the red box around my windows to click and drag. I have made sure to not have lock preview enabled, i made sure the lock icon in the sources window is unlocked, i went to transofrm and refitted to screen, and nothing is still working. i simply need to move my camera to the top right cornor so you can see gameplay at the same time as my face cam.

Hi there! I'm having a problem with the streamelements website. I made the switch from streamlabs to streamelements (finally!) but my dashboard won't update (follows, subs, etc). It still says 0. So that initial dashboard page is giving you current data for the month (which may be empty if you just switched to SE). I tested follows, and those show up. I also see the donations.

That option is outside the filter options. Basically, you don't want any extra windows open, you just want to look at OBS where all your sources show and adjust it there

Having a similar issue to @sinful crag I keep having to reconnect my cutom bot over and over it only seems to work for the first message and then fails right away. Is there a known issue with this?

@plucky shell If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey, for the past 3 days, my overlays are showing up blank on my OBS. I logged out of obs.live as well as streamelements. Clean reinstalled both the applications but the issue still remains. Visibility is on and the overlays show up on streamelements, but not on OBS or Twitch. Anyone know how to get my overlays to show again?

As a general rule, the overlays are cloud based, so they shouldn't be limited to one PC

You can have multiple widgets in one overlay. No need to separate them, i would recommend to separate the alertbox into a separate overlay, everything else can stay in one for each scene

Our overlays are 1920x1080 - so you can place everything into a single overlay while using your canvas as a template.

Once you add your twitch chat as a widget to the overlay, it will automatically update in OBS.

If you added a new overlay with the chat - copy the URL and install as a new browser source with the correct resolution

my obs havent been able to stream since yesterday

and error message keeps popping up when i click start streaming

Been Streaming a long time without any errors. But after many trials and checks I cant figure this one out.

Problem -> Randomly on some alerts that come through for Large Gift Subs / Donations / Bits, OBS will cut the Connection to 0kbps at the bottom, and completely disconnect from Twitch on OBS.LIVE (Connection is Fibre and no devices actually lose connection in the house as theyre all hardwired, its also a 1.5gbps up/down line)

Everything else stays connected on this computer. Spotify, Voicemeter, etc with no disconnection. This has never happened on small things like single Subs, Small Bit, Small Donations, only large. This is also ran on a dedicated Stream PC with Hardwire connection.

Things I've tried. Updating OBS.LIVE, Making sure its set to Stable, Testing All Alerts, Checking All Settings. Switched out the Ethernet Cord, even though its not a Modem or ISP issue.

Its very strange, and Im out of things to try other than to REDO everything, or try another platform to see if it works without hassle.

Hi. First i would check the OBS Logs, the connection information is always in the logs, so we might find something interesting there

In general browser sources can't cut the connection to the server - it is pretty much a browser page loaded in Chromium inside of OBS

Not sure what is happening here, i suggest testing with a VPN (if not already done) and checking the routing.

Not losing connection to anything else from other PCs, or same PC at very time this happens, so its all signifying a software issue. IMO. Voicemeter doesnt cut, Online Game doesnt cut, Spotify doesnt cut. If it was a net issue, everything would blip, boot or goto reconnecting status. @nova scaffold
