hey everybody! So I'm having a serious issue with OBS Live and I'm REALLY hoping somebody may be able to provide some insight? I like to stream Call of Duty Warzone, but EVERY TIME I do, OBS crashes. Today I streamed for about 4 hours and it crashed 5/6 times. It's the only game that crashes my OBS, everything else works perfectly. This has been going on for a while now. @humble viper Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

@midnight hemlock Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Known issue with kappagen widget. For custom bot name, make sure all of the requirements are met inside obs.live by clicking on the hamburger menu in the activity feed panel > stream settings > scroll down to custom bot name

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

No, genuinely have no idea how it stopped capturing RDR2 but I changed the setting from Vulkan to DX12 and it started capturing again. Also disabled discord overlay so will turn vulkan back on and see if the issue was discord

Not sure where to put this but I do use OBS.Live and got accepted in to the Widget Beta earlier today so had set my OBS to the beta version.

When I test alerts on the browser (Cannot upload in OBS.Live for the overlays btw) in my OBS this bar appears with every alert.

I have tried reverting back to Default, still happens. Refreshed overlays, still happens. Doesn't appear when I test it on the site for the overlay though. I'm having a derp day so hopefully this is something obvious. It does disappear eventually after each alert too and appears behind them.

I've run into an issue using the custom bot name. I had it working just fine, opened the custom bot account back up (to tweak a couple of twitch-end settings), realized I'd forgotten the password, and reset it. From there it doesn't seem to want to reconnect to the account.
I have tried:

1. signing in again through the same portion of OBS.Live (including using the new password and getting confirmation that it's signed in)
2. disconnecting StreamElements - Custom Bot from the account on twitch and then repeating 1 (including verifying that the connection is re-authorized)
3. restarting OBS Studio
4. restarting the computer
   OBS.Live seems to think I've not connected it (Send Test Message is greyed out), but the bot account says it's connected at the Twitch end

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

@opaque jackal Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

@opaque jackal it's a matter of playing around it. I've seen different behavior for me personally, initially 4000 was my sweet spot
now it seems i can do 6000, so I'm sure it's affected by general connectivity parameters, or ISP stuff
50mb should easily support twitch's 6000 limit, but it's up to your specific setup and connectivity that'll show actual results

there's not much SE involvement in dropped frames, it's usually about the setup + connection quality
we'll be glad to help of course discussing the issue from our own experience, but it's something to be tested without OBS.Live and if persists take up with OBS Studio (or alternatively be resolved by testing different settings and use the best ones)

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. You'd have to enabled FFZ in stream tab of OBS settings. You have to connect account and not use stream key.

Once you do that click the ⚙️ for chat settings and then non-mod settings and choose FFZ panel. Search for action style up top and choose your option.

So, I am new to streaming and everything works fine except the only problem is the bitrate whilst streaming. I usually get a constant 50 down 20 up and have the bitrate to around 3000-3500kb/s. However, it will always become unstable and the bitrate will drop, I lose frames and the stream buffers. Any advice would be much appreciated thanks.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

You can drag the borders between different frames of the OBS.Live screen and make some of them bigger.

You can also move around some of the other docks, to give the chat dock more room, or switch it around with other docks until you find a layout that lets it be the size you want.

If you run out of memory and the application tries to access more, that's a common reason for a crash.

Try using Task Manager to see if something is eating it up?

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Yes, but that's not it. I originally logged into SE under one page and created the overlay. Facebook wasn't tracking my stats and refused to help, so I created another page to get the stat tracking to work. Now I'm streaming to that page and am logged in under it, but like you said, the box only works for the other page. Can I copy all the settings from one to the other and create a duplicate overlay for this page? (It took forever to create the original one)

Basically can I tie the overlay to a different page without having to completely rebuild it

It can happen if there's any copyrighted materials in the import, such as Streamlabs default files. Additionally, custom coded things or 20MB+ and non supported files for sure (like mkv/avi/mov), missing files (they are in SLOBS config, but they are missing on harddrive) may cause it to fail.

Yes because that's a standard feature from OBS Studio. Note that OBS.Live is just a plugin, not its own version like SLOBS.
SLOBS uses OBS Studio as a base, so nearly everything that you can do with SLOBS is also possible with OBS (Live).

What you're looking for are scene collections and profile. Check the top bar in obs

OK I actually can help you with this one, all you need to do is open the overlay for that personalized one, select it in the layer menu, then go to the top right of the left bar where there's a double rectangle that lets you duplicate widgets

When you click that, there's a popup asking "this overlay or other overlays", you want to click "other overlays" and it'll import to your other one!

@urban cave Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hi team, is the fact I use streamlabs instead of obslive creating my issue? I am trying to add commands using my own custom emotes and when I use the command in my chat, it just comes up with the text of that emote, not the image?

But also make sure the bot is a moderator in your channel. In order to use emotes you either need to have the bot subscribed to your channel, or using OBS Live you can have the bot respond in chat as you which does not require a subscription to the channel

6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties."
