I’ve been using OBS studios and just installed OBS Live from streamelements. It’s been working great, but all of a sudden it stopped alerting my Follows and donations. Even when I refresh or replay. When I do the test on streamlabs it’ll work, but just not live. I completely removed and remade all my alerts. Nothing. Even uninstalled OBS Live and reinstalled it. Any ideas how to get this to fix?

You should be able to configure your alerts however you like in the overlay editor. From the overlays on our site, just click the large pencil on the overlay, select the alert widget, and edit away 😃

Hey Guys and gals, a freind has a little issues that I can't seem to work out, apparently she clicked studio mode and now it won't allow her to go back into obs.live mode, any ideas?

CPU is not the only thing that matters, GPU will matter as well, and I would not expect a 3rd gen i7 to produce the quality of encoding that is the whole idea behind a dedicated streaming PC, which would be medium preset or slower

There is no magic bullet to fix a GPU being overloaded from streaming. If you can provide a log from a stream it might give some insight, but again, its not a, click this button and everything will magically fix itself

Can you please provide a log from your last stream. You can find this log in " %appdata%/obs-studio/logs " OR Help > Log Files > Show Log Files. You can simply drag and drop the log file into Discord.

Well, its not from a stream so it does not have all the needed details, but your GPU is a mobile GPU from 2014, that machine in general is not designed for streaming. In that regard, there is not really much you can do to expect to get any decent quality without completely maxing out the system

Out plugin does not do anything that would cause a huge spike in GPU usage. With a system that old, and the fact that its a laptop, any change to anything else in the system has the potential to change things, like a windows update, or GPU driver update. If OBS Studio without our plugin works better, then you are better off with just OBS studio. If you actually gave a log from a stream, it might give a better idea of what is going on, but without that, there is nothing I can suggest based on the system you are trying to stream from

ok. I think the system itself was running fine but now for some reason. It is running harder than it was then that was from a few days ago but currently OBS is running 60-70 GPU in Task Manager and 25% CPU.
Once I start the game (League Of Legends) I am at about 100% in both. and before there was no issues.

The only thing OBS is using the GPU for in this case is to render the canvas. Our plugin does not touch the renderer at all. Really your only options are to lower settings, like the downscale filter, or even trying to down sample on the CPU itself by setting the base and output the same in Settings > Video, and instead downscale the image in Settings > Output. Given the hardware on the laptop you could still experience problems with this.

Ok, two things:
- That is an old version of Ground Control which is know to have non-working hotkey functions.
- I don't think even the latest ground control version we have on the website (1.6.0 I think it was) will also with the OBS.Live media widget, due to the fact that the Media request in OBS.Live uses more updated code then the Dashboard as well.

- restart OBS as admin
- make sure in the editor it self that the media share widget is there.
- maybe log out of OBS.Live and log back in.(streamelements on top -> logout)

Duplicate sounds means something isnt set to shutdown, you have more than 1 active alertbox in the same overlay, or you have the website/editor open as well as obs with an active alertbox.

You should not be using OBS with Studio mode enable the entire time, you should only enable studio mode when you are going to transition. If you dont do what the bot says above, with the swap scenes, you can and will get audio echos
leaving Studio Mode active will also require more resources as you will have 2 active scenes

After going live, it seems that the media request portion of the plugin seems fine now. So it must have been that i was not streaming that that portion of the plugin would not show in my case.
Been testing for 20 mins and all seems fine now.
Only problem is this "continue setup" that i guess is still in doubt.

At the settings from mediaRequest on the streamElements web page you can see a settings button and then in the advanced options you can enable the vote skipping. With the command !voteskip your viewers can vote to skip.
And make sure the command is enabled in your command settings in case you disabled it.

Hello! So I've got an issue where everytime i get a follow or so. It plays my current alert sound, but around 8-10 seconds later plays my old alert sound back from when i was using streamlabs. I've got no idea where it comes from or how to fix it. Any ideas?

If you are testing alerts from our system, and dont hear it, that would indicate its coming from another system

So i just saw that media requests are now in obs live.....can we get a selector to set where the media outputs to? On ground control i usually had chevolume set it to output to a VAcable, but with it being part of OBS, i can't output it to a seperate audio to silence it for myself but leave it running for audience as it then mutes all of OBS for me and I don't hear alerts.

question. OBSlive says media request isn't detected in overlay but i have it on

@delicate monolith please make sure you have an overlay with a mediashare widget in your browser source. If it is still occurring please let us know.

hey guys, randomnly one of my overlays in stream elements only loads a white image, I've tried to hard refresh and remove cache

SLOBS is known to block some of functions and widgets from our overlays on random basis.

for duplicate sound either you had 2 items open that was playing the music source or you have more than 1 widget in use (either in your current scene or in one that hasnt been shutdown when not in use). these are the only things that would cause it

as long as the other overlay with the widget has the "shutdown when not in use" option enabled in obs then it will be fine

alerts will also cause double sound if this option is not ticked. basically if every overlay you have has an alert widget and not shutdown when not in use then each one will play when you get a follow

Groundwork App and OBS.Live media request are conflicting with each other. I can’t stop one without stopping the other, and they don’t play at the same time either, there is a good 5 second delay

I even tried launching groundwork hitting play then launching obs live. Soon as the 2nd song came on obs.live would then play its media request

Hello! I really want to start a YouTube stream, and in this stream I want to have music from Spotify or Youtube in the background. However, I talk to a friend over Skype at the same time, and you should not be able to hear him on the stream. Is there any possibility that I can separate Skype audio and Youtube audio from desktop sound so that you can hear Spotify/YouTube music from the desktop without hearing the Skype conversation? I hope you can help me. Thank you! 😃

vincent, the desktop sound mixer in obs picks up everything from your pc. if there are certain things you dont want to be picked up there a 2 things (that i can thing of) to do.
- download a virtual cable program and set it up
- set skype to use a different audio out put
option 1 is probably your best bet

I have a headphone amp connected to my PC and i have the amp at max volume, but my application volumes are at 50% and it outputs a a low volume to my stream

ok, why are you using an amp? you can adjust the volume in obs and on windows in the control panel

i use it to increase the volume for my own sake while playing games and make it louder

so the amp has no direct connection/control with the stream, its just so you can adjust it for yourself

if youre bypassing the obs desktop audio capture then the only thing i can suggest is to add a gain filter to it in the mixer

it will because youre digitally boosting low sound. but as youre bypassing the inbuilt audio capture then youre very limited with your options
the only control you have for your stream is in the windows sound panel and the slider in obs mixer

@rugged quail I would say don't use ground controls for now. The devs are aware of some issues with obs.live MR and are working on it.

yes, right now there is an issue with MR not being stopped when closing the MR widget in obs.live. as soon as that is fixed you should be able to use both again! thanks for your patience ❤ @rugged quail

It auto starts with groundwork app, so for song request to be on I need to deal with hearing the music ❤️❤️ it’s no drama
Using MR for now, so I hear the music, will just turn SR off when I need game sounds etc.

@odd kraken no it's for all songs, i have a playlist and for each start of the song it acts up and replays the start several times. It's random.

you have tried to use shutdown source when not visible for every Source with an Overlay? Have you muted the browser you are editing your overlay with in the background? Maybe the double sound is produced by this.
