Starting a stream with NordVPN freezes my OBS if streamelements is active when I start the stream

If I click "start stream" before streamelements loads into the program, it works with VPN

any ideas?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled my VPN, OBS, and SE

Issue seems to be primarily triggered if I change VPN status during a stream at all.

So switching Nord on or off during a stream freezes my OBS

but only if streamelements is running

if i'm streaming at the moment I switch my VPN on or off, it disconnects streamelements but allows OBS to continue streaming. Once I end stream, program freezes

Hello, I am having some issues with latency. I have it set on se obs to a 10 second delay, but when I go live on it says normal latency on youtube (which I think is like a 1 minute delay). Any thoughts would help, thank you much

Hey Scar, the best practice I do is that I schedule the stream from youtube's page and select ultra or low latency, then copy the stream key (it won't change until you reset) and paste it into OBS and now when you press Strat Streaming on OBS it will give a prompt of SE (Check in the pic). And That's how I solve the latency issue

Just make sure the first radio box is checked.

As long as you have no Variations the default sound+image of the alert will pop up, you need to make sure though that the alerts you wish to see are enabled

Hi, I have a question. I decided to go back to Twitch since you guys haven't solved the login issue with new brand accounts. I noticed that when I logged with my Twitch account an older YT channel was linked to it that no longer exists. Is there a way with the Account ID to unlink that or do I need to send in a request to close the account linked to both my Twitch and the non existent YT account to get this fixed? Sorry if I asked before, I can't remember. A lot has happened in my life recently recently.

I've tried every variation of just typing (subcount - amount) into the text field and it does nothing. Known issue, see pinned. I'm as frustrated as you are as I'm facing that same error. This error appears to have been going on since the change to how YouTube treats new brand accounts created after August occurred. There has been no new info given on progress other than that the devs are working on it. I wish I knew more but I don't.

SE are aware of an issue with Brand Accounts created after August 2021. Until the developers can find a fix I am afraid we are stuck.
I tried reverting back to a non brand account and that didn't fix the issue so we just have to sit and wait I am afraid.

Hello! Guys, I'm having an issue with YouTube's chat. When connecting my YouTube account OBS will automatically bring a chat to my setup but there is no text area box. It looks like this.

if I try to use StreamElements' dockable chat, I get my twitch channel's chat instead

does Live support YouTube functionality? I'm unable to figure out how to see my YT activity and chat, as both bring my twitch stuff on OBS

I recently switched from Twitch to Youtube. For some reason the bot either isn't present in my YouTube chat or isn't working. Could I have help problem solving? When I try and re-set things up (bot & tipping settings) it says the bot is already in chat. When I was live the other day I didn't see it on the list of participants.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

I had this issue. You created 2 separate accounts,1 for youtube and 1 for twitch. Delete the youtube channel from SE and then login to your twitch account and claim it. I did exactly the same thing

both. in the properties tab where is says, open in stream elements overlay editor, it just opens a black page. the alerts dont work but also the source just doesn't display

I already tried removing access for SE in google account, clearing old cookies, allowing SE and cloudflare to create new cookies, clearing cache, and closing account from a dashboard, but literally nothing happens after filling out that closing form. :/ I really need to resolve this issue and don't know what else can I try now.

It is broken for any brand accounts created after August 2021, when YT changed how those accounts are created - and rolling it back to a personal account does not fix it. Funnily enough I just popped in to see if there was any updates but I guess SE are still working on it. There is a pinned post about it.

Similar issue to @charred oar, the bot would reconnect to the chat frequently, anywhere from every 2-5m to about 10-20m or so. Tuesday it was fine, and Thursday morning it had this issue.

Also, is there any way to help speed up when custom commands appear in chat? Sometimes it's anywhere between 10-30s before they appear in chat.

about a month ago I made the switch from Twitch streaming to YouTube and imported all my overlays over from my Twitch account to my StreamElements YouTube account. So my issue is that for some reason I can't get my YouTube Dashboard to update anything at all, it's literally been empty for every stream. and (while I'm aware it could take up to 4 hours to update) all of my new subscribers never show up on my list either. If anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated 🙏.

We've been 'looking into the issue' for months now, personally I'd really love an update of some kind that shows that people are actually looking into it. From what I have seen you guys offer a great service, but I'm getting a bit frustrated checking back here and all people are getting months later is "our devs are investigating the issue" "we're looking into it", there is a whole market of people trying to come over from Streamlabs, and we need your service to do so fully. Some transparency would be nice here, because it feels like nothing is actually being done

Question/Concern, so I've been streaming for the last couple weeks, everything seems to be working fine in terms or timers and commands, the bot is working awesome, but I've gained X amount of subscribers since I started and I haven't had a single notification come through nor has it updated on the dashboard on the SE website.

It can't be a coincidence that they're account are on private because I've had notifications come through my phone FROM youtube saying people have subscribed.

Is there something I can do to remedy the situation? Redo the alerts?

copy/pasting from Friday: The bot would reconnect to the chat frequently, anywhere from every 2-5m to about 10-20m or so. Tuesday it was fine, and Thursday morning it had this issue.

Also, is there any way to help speed up when custom commands appear in chat? Sometimes it's anywhere between 10-30s before they appear in chat. Is just something on YouTube's end or is there a setting I can adjust?

hello. i was hoping i could get some general information on the functionality of a certain feature and the possibility of functionality on another as well as ideas if those things don't really work out.

i wasn't able to completely work out those possibilities on the website and documentation alone.

in a scenario where a streamer wants to do song reactions but on their live stream with audience voting, the first idea / solution might be a poll.

but the problem with the polls is that the streamers don't know any of the music being requested so they are scrambling through way too much audience chat to catch what's being requested a lot and it's obviously just a mess anyway.

i haven't found any solution for open-ended / free text polling where a streamer could simply create a poll with a question and the audience could create answers and other audience members could actually vote on those crafted answers if they were going to make the same request.

i saw that there was the media sharing feature but i'm not absolutely certain it fits the particular ask here either.

it might if you can just not have the queue auto-play but i'm not sure about the aspect of audience voting / participation on that queue.

Doesn't seem to matter what I try, but my Activity Feed is always on "you have no stream activity." I subscribe (to myself) from another channel, get the full notification on YouTube itself, but the SE activity stays empty on both the website and SE Live. Any help?

There are plenty of custom widgets and command variables in the community that might fit this situation. The easiest solution would be to have the viewers input their suggestion into some doc or form so that the streamer could see it and then input the options into a dynamic template to put in their description. in doing so, the poll will then display in the description in real time and the viewers could see how it's going. The hard part would be pulling the suggestions. At this time Media request isn't available for Youtube, sadly. Having the Mods pull the suggestions from the viewers is one way but some suggestions may get lost in the spam of chat.

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

we aren't using twitch at all. this was just youtube chat, stream run from OBS but only to youtube and just a relatively small batch of people in the stream chat on youtube were getting dynamically added to the giveaway participants.

hi there, my name is commandercardboardvee, and i have been having issues livestreaming with a working chatbox.

when testing it on twitch, i have zero issues, but youtube is just a whole other beast in general. my understanding is that the broadcast obs studio (27.1.3 64-bit) streams must match the stream key youtube is using. i checked to make sure it did, and it worked when i successfully ran a test livestream.

i have made sure i am using the correct overlay url for my source. i have made sure said overlay exists under my specific youtube channel id within my dashboard. i have even made a new chatbox from scratch which i ran on my test stream. nothing works. i am still quite new to streaming, so i don't know what i'm doing wrong. any and all help from experienced devs of streamelements would be most appreciated.

Our developers are working on a fix to allow this issue to be resolved, however it may take additional time along with some additional changes that will need to be implemented.

the good news is that the workaround traffy pointed me to seems to have worked out. i just needed the time to follow the instructions. i would like to thank the se staff for that. if i can get it to work with pre-scheduled livestreams on youtube, that'll be even better. also, the ability to toggle the skin of the live chat to dark mode on the fly would be nice, but perhaps that last part has been suggested already.

the bad news is that as a person who has only been streaming quite seriously for less than a year, testing streams has always irritated me to a great degree, particularly for the overly-bloated, convoluted youtube platform. is there a way to test out the functionality of your entire stream with se.live being incorporated into your streaming environment, without streaming publicly? i don't want to create live notifications for my viewer-base when i don't need to. it gets very annoying very fast and it's not particularly professional.

when trying to log in with my brand channel (CobwebbloxLive) I cant
the error it comes up with is:
