Youtube does not provide a rename event, we could manually rename the account and adjust the relevant URLs (tipping page, merch store etc.).
Let us know if you would like to do it, takes 1-2 business days usually since this is manual.

Due to YouTube design, certain events will show up on your activity feed as delayed by a couple hours, or not at all. This is a YouTube design, so there's nothing we can change on this end

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.

4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

By using a dock, the chat for youtube actually desn't load (the obs chat). My solution was just to connection to restream.io and use their chat app which works 100%.

Yes. If you use OBS.Live you need to go to the top menu - StreamElements and press the "Logout" button, then log in with Twitch.

And in general for OBS (does not matter which version) - change the Stream settings to the correct channel

Logging into OBS.Live with Twitch makes sure that it loads the activity feed and chat from Twitch.

And the Stream settings determine where the videofeed goes, so need to adjust those aswell

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

What I was told by 1 person is happened to is that they went thru the donation process to the final "pay now" button for PayPal. They clicked the pay button on PayPal and instead of confirming their tip like normal, it reset them back a few steps. Sent them back to the page where they choose the amount to donate. This person donates regularly so I don't think they misread something. 3 times they tried to donate and it would just keep resetting and then 20 mins later 3 donations came in

Could be a PayPal issue idk what Im more concerned abt is the large delay in donation notifications. Never happened before and it was really upsetting the chat

yes but they don't work when streaming live, ive testing it by subbing and unsubbing, and had a viewer try it too. Been like this for about a week. The only alert that works on live stream is the donation alert

Hey,

I am having trouble getting my alert notifications to show during my live streams (Twitch or YouTube).

I currently use OBS Studio (not StreamLabs OBS).

When I test them on the streamelements website (live streaming or just off stream testing, everything works fine.

But when someone follows or subscribe during the stream nothing shows.

I have my alert boxes set to 1920/1080 on the website and in the OBS Studio Scenes.

I am also aware of the privacy settings on YouTube that may prevent getting notifications on YouTube, but again nothing is showing for Twitch either.

Is there anything else that I am missing???

If you stream for less then 4 hours, the even will get lost eventually, if someone subs during the live stream.

I think Action should be pretty good with that, but it is a paid software.
You can definitely go with OBS, but lower settings as it is relatively heavy.

PSA you can use both bot systems simultaneously. Just opt in/out (pick and choose on/off) features you want from each.

Utilizing streamlabs still for that capability won’t interfere with Stream Elements if you are shutting off all other StreamLabs functions.

I've been using Streamlabs for tips and Merch for 4 weeks now and it has been working well. But, I have a problem with Paypal. They have limited my account until I can provide ID (which I did) and 'Provide purchase receipt from your supplier'. For tips, I'm not sure how to do this, but I should be able to do it for the Merch I sold. The problem is that I can't find receipts for my sold merch on StreamElements. I can see a list of items sold, but I'm not albe to export or access receipt for any of them. Is there a place I'm not finding on my account? Also, I don't get email notifications for any merch that is sold. Is that a settings issue?

I can be shown a widget for half of the video but it doesn't bring me even slightly closer to figuring out how I can carry over my already created (albeit rough) starting stream screens and the like. Honestly, if the stream is smooth and delayed, I'm not sure there's much I can help you with. From my Googling, the two settings you've mentioned are the relevant ones.

You might still want to try the normal steps for dealing with lagging steams, like reducing the frame rate and seeing if that works.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

@silk junco its because most people on Youtube have their subscriptions set to private, that is the default setting Youtube has set

So if someone has their subscriptions set to private, which is almost everyone, they won't show up for you anywhere like that.

Does anyone know if StreamElements command keywords work as expected for Youtube streams too?

This may sound dumb but I’m a neewbie to all this. Is there a way to test your YouTube stream without notifying your followers/subs?

I know with twitch there’s a way to do it but is there a way with YT that I’m missing?

you can emulate alerts in your overlay editor but everything else needs to be tested while live and the stream needs to be set to public

As for the main dashboard page showing numbers - subs are delayed right now

If sub events don't show up within those 4 hours, then they are lost unfortunately

The system works in the background usually

but with how the YT API is all flimsy and how privacy settings play a huge role in the events as well, we can't guarantee that members and superchats are not affected.

To elaborate:

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

But this is specifically for Subscribers. It adds up to the 4 hour delay, hence the lost thing

As for the page being "active" while you are not - it is active at all times

for members and superchats they should work as normal with no delay

Hmm, yeah, something's up then, my members and superchats aren't showing :/
I do remember seeing stuff like it will only show a subscriber alert if they have their subscriptions set to public.
I streamed one time before using StreamElements, Wednesday, if the time difference is important, I got a superchat but it wasn't showing, I tried resetting a bunch of things to see if that might help.
I'll be streaming again tomorrow and see if I still have some issues and can check back maybe, thanks for the help 🙂

Since you are having issues with your YT account, then provide the YT account ID

If you have another account link, that has nothing to do with the issue

linked accounts don't share information between them

but the YT dashboard should provide you with 1 stream key
