@obsidian estuary for the alerts - the subscriber variations are a little 'sensitive' to you might have to fiddle with them more to get a feeling of how they trigger.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

Idk if it’s just me or if other youtube streamers have the same problem but I usually have to log out of obs and log back In to “make sure” my alerts work , and even sometimes then they still don’t. Would also be nice if the YouTube Live chat on obs could have a dark mode option, white mode makes my eyes bleed 😭 lol

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

I'm refering to the points sytem that SE has had even prior to Twitch having a point system. I'm wondering if that is going to be brought over to the YT side of things on SE, since my viewers won't be able to use the sound effects or enter giveaways like they were able to before.

@smoky plume Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@turbid canopy There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Speed tests are not indications of what your connection to ingest servers will be. They're generated by establishing multiple simultaneous connections.

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

hello guys, i used to live stream to twitch and always use restream for multi live to youtube. But today i tried to live stream to youtube only directly from OBS without restream. whenever i click live video setting on the right side > i choose use dashboard setting (which i already set everything) > i click go live > it never appear on my youtube.

i assume this is because the Default streamkey (variable) on the youtube dashboard, so i need to paste the stream key everytime i stream? there is no permanent stream key? or is it something else?

@versed tangle The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

Need help getting chat bot to work on YouTube livestream. Been fighting with it for a week. I clicked on Join Channel, I added SE to my moderator list, Live Chat is on for the stream, and it is set to Public. Still, whenever I'm streaming, when checking my dashboard on SE, I still show up as Offline and the bot never shows up in chat, which means my overlay (sub goal & latest sub) never appear/update. I already tried logging out and logging back in several times on different devices, and I even deleted my account entirely and remade it from scratch, which didn't fix it either. Can anyone help me fix this issue for real?

Not sure exactly where to put this, but I think I messed up the linking profiles workflow. I tried to sign into SE using my youtube account knowing full well that I already have it linked to my Twitch account. I got an error at first so I backed out and logged into my Twitch account.

I'm making alert variations for each tier of member - does anyone know how the menu options here align with the tiers I've created in youtube? In youtube I see that they have names, not numbers. @west flower There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

hi everyone! I've faced a strange problem. My Youtube channel is connected to the Streamelements and to another well-known app. And the Streamelements doesn't track the subscribers while the other app is doing that (so it's not a problem with the security settings on the subscriber's side). Also there is a problem with the bot, which is kinda working, but doesn't follow the timer settings (so it could post the message once in an hour, but should do that once in 10 minutes). How can I fix that problems? Could someone help me with that? Thank you in advance!

Hi there, having a spot of bother. I accidently linked my Youtube account to streamelements as it's own unique channel. (I had wanted to link it to my account which already has my Twitch/Facebook/etc. accounts). I tried cancelling the account, but it tells me that my email is invalid (despite it being the email I used). Am I doomed to not be able to merge the two? - Regards Jimmy

Hi there, if I could please have someone from staff or support (not the bot) look into my issue for me. I have been asking for help on this channel for over a week now about the Chat Bot in my YouTube streams. At first when using it, it appeared in my chat, saying it was here, but my overlay labels (latest sub and sub goal) would never update when getting a sub. Then, the bot just didn't appear for about a week (while trying to get support and only getting bot help). Yesterday, the bot showed in chat, which raised my hopes, but again, overlay did not update with new subs and did not trigger sub alerts. I am desperate for help at this point, because I keep asking the same thing every day, only to get the same bot answer which does not help, as I already followed and refollowed the steps given. Could I please have someone from staff look into this more deeply, maybe get in contact with me directly to solve the issue so it doesn't get lost again or so I don't have to send this very very long message in this channel every single day? I would appreciate that greatly. Thank you.

@drifting crane If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

@versed tangle Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

hello, im new to SE. i was using streamlabs obs for streaming on youtube but i took too much cpu (but everything was working perfectly) the i switched to obs studio and was using streamlabs browers based alert but no alerts were popping so i switched to streamelements (i heard it was better than streamlabs in most cases) so i add the browers based alerts to my obs studio and tested it on streamelements website and it worked on my obs but when i live stream there is no alerts at all and the dashboard dont show my total subs it shows everything as zero, no activity on activity feed either (i even downloaded obs.live still no luck). the only thing that seems to work fine is the streamelemets bot. HELP PLZ i searched it everywhere.

@haughty island if a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Everything seemed to work fine, until I decided to delete default video that's above the sign. When I delete that, only part of the sign shows or nothing shows depending on the subscriber's nickname. I tried to change notification box' size, but it doesn't change anything. Please, help me.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member
