^ if your streaming right from your ps4 you will need a computer to have super chat enabled and watch chat from phone or computer, if your capturing your ps4 with a capture device you can have an overlay in the capture software (OBS, game capture). youtube has a very funny chat api and it takes our bot awhile to join heres some tips

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
  2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
  3. Add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Comment Moderator at https://www.youtube.com/comment_management
  4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Note that it can take some time after going live before the bot joins your chat.

Would be a youtube thing, as the account name and channel are maybe different. Or you changed some sort of display name for youtube to thewaterygoat and the channel name is still on dean9550. Best to contact YT if there is a way to change this, too.

my account is old and i think i set it as dean9550 when i was like 13... it's hidden beneath youtube. not sure how im supposed to get in contact with them. i think i read they dont change exisint usernames so that means streamelements must have a way to change my name manually (comes up with dean9550 on tips)

You're getting it backwards. It will broadcasts the tweets sent by the account you add, not sent to the account you add.

  • What should my bitrate be? (Currently Set to 6000)

  • What should my encoding preset be? (Currently set to Very Fast)

  • Which process priority should I use? (Currently Set to High)

youtube re-encodes everything you send them, so make sure that you send the best possible quality you can transmit. They accept up to 50'000 bitrate, so for your case I would push at least 10000-15000 bitrate to send them something near visually lossless as possible

Saw Streamlabs recommending people to write their own python scripts... I feel like this could be a wanted feature especially on new channels and VR channels, where it's hard to keep track of the chat, and engaging with new viewers is important when you're starting out

It does TTS, but thats risky 😄 I turned off TTS and enabled a custom notificaiton sound file (I added the pling from facebook) whenever someone says something in the chat.

Yeah, seems like the "standard" recommendation is "use a second screen for chat, open YT chat in a popup window, place it next to your screen and notice movement in peripheral vision".

When I noticed it did that I deleted it and placed another widget on but I couldn't hear the music as well.

Question - did a few test streams to YT last night, watched the VOD's today and the videos even in 1080/60fps were pixelated. Does someone know if YT does further encoding/compression on the streams/vids and if there's a way to counter if so?

Looking at your first screenshot, you've left the email field empty and that is also returning the error on the bottom right.

Look at the other one. No email address was imported as the YT account is a Brand Account.

Spent hours going through Youtube changing settings, trying different resolutions no change. Said my GPU was being used. Not true as it was working fine before the update. Nothing on my PC has changed. I installed the newest version but still no luck.

@versed tangle I was using restream io. Updated OBS to 23 and started getting the issue. Stopped streaming for a while. Came back recently and it was bad. Updated to version 24 still there. Changed stream stettings back to Youtube only,s till the same choppy frames. Uninstalled last night and tried again, same issue.

I've been looking for quite a while for a way to get any sort of Youtube live notifications to my twitter, be it through Zapier or other services, and it seems like none of them do this. I also tried looking through Google's live broadcast API and it seems like it requires you use an API key before you can even access if you're live...
