Did those steps. I have the bot in chat.. sometimes it works, and in many times it wont't. Its very random. SE Twitter support said its a known ittue. Not sure if there is an update on it.

Yeah... its hard to repost the question since you have to go through all the basic 4 steps explanations first to get to the point
Here goes nothing: SE is set as a MOD and Approved users in YT settings. On the permissions page it shows that SE can manage my account, watch my account, watch member list, and manage my videos, The bot DOES say it is running at the start of the live (not unlisted) stream... but in 50% of the cases it doesnt respond to (custom) commands. Its completely random. On twitter ive been told by SE that its a known issue, and I gave them my account ID for data. But I havent heard any updates on it. Is there any news @daring seal ?

Thank you for the provided ID. So the bot behaves strange on YouTube and seems to get disconnected after a random timeframe.
Can you try this?
Visit this page: myaccount. google. com/ permissions
Log in with your YouTube channel (not Google, has to be the correct YouTube channel).
Then remove the permissions for StreamElements and relog into StreamElements after that with the affected YouTube channel.
This will restore the connection and should fix the issue.

@old rock @amber lynx make sure that you gave permissions to StreamElements and that you have the account set to public.
Since it has already linked your account, you'll need to contact support in order to have them adjust your name.

I really want to use the streamelement bot.. but ive been reaching out to support since early this month, and I just can't seem to get this bot to work. I have bot as a mod, the permissions are all fine, I diconnected and reconnected the whole thing, but the end result remains the same..... the bot enters chat pretty much at the start, but just wont respond 5/10 times. I have to look for alternatives I suppose.

So that is session data. You can input it as you wish. if you goto the "settings" section under Session Data, you will see an option that resets it automatically after each stream.
If that is checked, it will erase the data and you will have to manually input for some values.
If the aggregated data is not correct, navigate to Activity Feed > reset Session > logout > log back in. That will populate the new numbers for that section

I do, what's extra weird is that if I emulate a several month resub alert in the overlay editor it seems to work. If I turn off my variant the alert will just do a generic "X became a member" alert.
Also for some reason these membership alerts all have messages enabled even though there isn't a button to enable/disable them for memberships. I can't edit the secondary text either, just the main text

Both are separate, you can request a merge between the accounts for an easy swap between them but each account can only be connected to one channel

Unfortuantely, that is due to how YouTube has their Live streams set up. There is no offline spot for the bot to be idle so the bot has to wait for Youtube to send the signal that you are live and then the bot joins the stream.

Hey, I'm currently having problems with my OBS not showing my activity and my chat, the stream works fine but I found those docks to be useful so I didn't have to switch tabs every two seconds. The activity tab shows that there's no activity even when I'm streaming which I stream to YouTube. And the chat dock just show a purple page, doesn't even do what it use to do when I would normally get into OBS. I've tried reloading the docks to no success and searched all over the internet with no success. What is going on and how do I fix this.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:
- Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
- Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
- Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
- When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

It can take time for the bot to be active, Youtube has a large delay in notifying that the stream is live.

Also, To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. These error messages only appear with StreamElements Browser sources.
Only when the browser source is deleted, then the error message is gone, but I need the browser sources.

Sponsorships are only on Twitch, so if you're clicking the link from the email while still access your Youtube page, it will break the link.

did you copy the right link, if you switch forth and back while creating the same overlays and copy position and such it switches to your other account without showing int he foreground, I had to do everything twice because of that

When you test the overlay, is the stream public and listed? Do you have the accounts linked (BTTV of FFZ, 7TV is not supported)?
Try !Emotes update when your stream is live and listed. Overlay with chat will not work if the stream is not public and listed

The alternative is that you duplicate the assets into one overlay. It's relatively easy to do this.
Navigate to the My Overlays sections, Click edit on one of the two overlays, then select the layer you wish to duplicate (SHIFT+Click if multiple layers are desired). Click the Third Icon (the two papers) and click "other overlays" Find the other NoD overlay and then submit.
TADA the assets are together in one 🙂

- you're asking for help in the Youtube helpdesk, not #helpdesk-twitch .
- readd the overlay at 1920x1080 as the resolution. and make sure that other layers are not on top of it. OBS uses a stacking system for the overlays. If one is on top and blocking visibility, it won't show

So issue I'm running into is all the stream elements fuctionality has quit working over a year ago for me when I rebranded my channel from a username to my real name. it has nothing in the data ect so none of the alerts have worked since the rename. But it still has the data prior to that rebranding

We don't support multi streaming how Restream.Io does. You would need different browser sources for each platform and there is no way to have just one chat overlay that has all the different platforms

Hiya, I just recently started using StreamElements and am trying to incorporate a Chatbox overlay into my Streamlabs OBS for my YT Livestreams. I have managed to obtain the overlay I like, add it to OBS via a browser source and test that it works via the "Test Message" option in the Overlay options HOWEVER it will not pick up and display ANY messages that are put into my chat during a livestream. Old Guy here trying to figure out young guy or gal stuff here on streamelements. My question are: #1 does the Sub goal supposed to update on its own when you go online with any new subs when you were offline? #2 if your live and a person subscribes via another video or short shouldn't it update on my SE goals widget, cause it doesnt? How do I fix it so I do not have to update my subscribers prior to each stream then update them manually. If i go into sb goals overlay and change in manually in session data it updates in my OBS etc, otherwise it just doesnt update. Please help, much appreciated.

Hey, recently I started dual streaming on twitch and YouTube. Al my twitch alerts do work on stream, and since I becane dual streaming on YouTube I also logged in with my YouTube account on streamelements and made a seperate overlay fot YouTube. I have 2 browser sources in OBS now from streamelements, one for twitch and one for YouTube. But the YouTube overlay isnt working, new subs dont show up as alert. But if I test them in the YouTube overlay, they show up on OBS.

If you have your resolution for the browser properly set then this may be the issue:
Due to changes by YouTube, there can be a delay of up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications as well as other alerts. This is the new intended way of receiving events from YouTube by their design.
You may want to follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Logout of our website using this link: https://streamelements.com/logout
- Remove the SE integration from your Google account: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Login again to StreamElements with your YouTube account
- See if new events show up now (they have to be new events)

When I actually did it right with members only it did not work, no method I tried did. So I guess you are right, can't be done at all... Definitely something YT needs to fix, can't have members only streams be worse than regular streams

So I'm having an issue with the SE Activity feed on the Youtube live side. I have been using twitch and when I log in and pop out the YT live activity feed to OBS I copy and paste the url into OBS and then open it I get twitch activity feed again. I've deleted all my activity feeds on OBS, I'm logged into YT on OBS and logged into YT on Streamelements but as soon as I open the YT activity feed on OBS it pops back up as my Twitch activity feed. anyone seen anything like this?

If you're using the popout link instead of the SE.Live one it will always default to twitch.
Otherwise you'd need to create a dock with the SE website and get it from there.

There are two tipping pages, one your YT one for Twitch. only one can have the url without numbers. If you wish to swap it, contact support with the two account ID's and they will switch it.

I have my alerts browser set up, and i have it in my OBS.
When i test the alert in the StreamElements overlay editor it shows both in the web browser and on my OBS
However when I make a new account to test to see if the alert will appear when a new viewer subscribes to my youtube page it does not pop up the alert at all

If the user who subscribed does NOT have their setting set to public, it will not trigger the event to cause the alert. It's a flaw in Youtube's system for livestreaming and nothing we can do about it
It's a privacy matter and totally understandable but can result in these issues. On Top of that, even if they have it set to public, it can take up to 4 hours to update and display that they subscribed.

Hello -- I'm trying to get StreamElements set up for YouTube, and I'm having a couple problems:
- I'd like to set up a subscriber goal -- are there any widgets that are a bar, or can I only create a text widget (and if the text widget is the only option, how can I do that?)
- The bot isn't responding to any commands. I have a stream scheduled for tomorrow and tried some commands in the chat, but the bot didn't respond. I set it up at the beginning when I logged on and added it as a moderator in Community. (Screenshot)

You can try the ${user} variable but it might not work on YT. And I don't think you can mention the viewer in the command, especially on YouTube.

Yes both channels. Streamlabs picks it up delayed and takes a minute to update. Streamelements picks up my twitch instantly so I was hoping for the same in Youtube

You can't. Without deleting the Twitch account linked to it, there is no way to remove it.

Though there was a prewritten response, but the skinny of it is that all your overlays and previously set up commands will be gone. It's starting fresh. If you want to go that route, you could, but there is no harm in having that dead channel linked to your account other than aesthetics

If you're absolutely sure about closing your account, you can click the Close My Account button at https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security. Please note that the deletion process is not automatic, but instead submits a request to the developers to delete the account on your behalf. Therefore, it can take a few days before your account is deleted.

Hey all, I'm not sure if this is possible or already created, but I figured I'd ask here. StreamElements Chatbot has a command that can show you the current elapsed time during your stream, but I'm looking to write that time that StreamElements posts to a file. Is there any easy way to do that with StreamElements? I've been looking at SAMMI, which I know CAN do that, but it's honestly out of what I feel like I'll be able to figure out.
A little context on this, I'm looking to have my chat make timestamps for me for funny/cool moments during streams so I can make clips after the fact. It's hard to manually do it myself while playing/interacting with everybody, so I figured a command that everybody else has access to would be a great way of doing it.
Also, this will be for YouTube streams specifically if that matters at all.

In a browser, go to your Streamelements page and make sure you are logged into YouTube. Click on Activity Feed and then click the "pop out" button. In the pop out window copy the link.
In OBS go to DOCKS and click "custom browser docks", name the dock anything you want in the first panel and paste the link into the second. Click apply and you should have it.

Hi there! I have an Issue with Gifted Memberships alerts. StreamElement perform the alert twice for the same Member when the membership is gifted. This is very annoying for the viewer because if someone gift 10 memberships, they get 20 alerts in the screen. Subscribe alerts will only work it the person that subscribe has the option that you can see to who he subbed is on. Also it can take a while, that’s a problem with YouTube and that’s normal

Hello, I have a question, if I may. I believe I have screwed up.
I have realized that I can integrate my Youtube channel into my Twitch login so that I can flip my overlay to the Youtube channel and have everything nice and organized under one roof. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago, I logged in and created an account from the home page "Connect with" and when asked to add the channel I get a message saying "This channel is already claimed"
Looking around after, I have confirmed that I am not already connected, and probably accidentally made a separate account for youtube (Which makes sense with everything I had to enter the first time I did it) Is there a way to flip that?
The easy answer in my head is to close the youtube account. However, If I go into my youtube account and close it, will it close my Twitch as well, or am I safe to just close the youtube and add my channel to the Twitch account afterwards?
My only fear is that everything is under "Rashern" and hitting login gives me the options all in one, so I thought it safer to check.

I tried setting a custom command to the "Subscriber" user level. During my last live stream, it appeared that the command wasn't working for subscribers, but it did work for one of my moderators.

Do it in YouTube not SE.
When you set up your stream in youtube go to visibility in the options
- set Visibility to unlisted when you test.
What I do - .
- On your YouTube studio page you have 3 tabs.
*Stream ( I have this set to unlisted with a tittle an description testing)
*Webcam - I dont use
*Manage - I schedule my livestreams ahead of time so this is my main way to set up for live

Commands can be tested in unlisted - thats how I do it.
Or maybe I misunderstand the issue

YouTube has added their own set of emotes (emojis). I have a SE's chat overlay for YouTube and for some reason, those emotes show up as :good_luck: instead of the rendered emote.
So I just wanted to know, if there's something wrong with my setup, or SE has not added support for them yet.

Hello, Streamelemts does not respond to incoming subscriptions, members, etc.
But the bot is in the chat, the chat commands also work.
Just no allerts.
The activity feed is also empty.

Okay, so for years my chatbox in streamlabs has been laggy in YouTube. I fixed it a long time ago by removing all comment restrictions on YouTube and this seemed to fix it, but the issue has returned since I started streaming again last year. The chat starts fine, then freezes, then spits out all the chat during the freeze in 1 sec. It's basically useless. I've done everything from deleting, redoing, refreshing, and testing. Restrictions are still off for all chat on my Youtube and the box is checked to not filter live-stream chat. I've tested this with Twitch and Youtube at the same time and Twitch comments come through as intended, but YouTube lags. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? I have an example if needed. Thank you!

Hello, I am new here, and I apologize ahead of time, if this has been asked/answered...
I first set up StreamElements a while back for YouTube streaming, then got pulled away into moving. So, now I am back to learning how to stream, but I think my StreamElements page is messed up.
I get a user name of "se-7005004", rather than the "Caladron" I would expect (to match my YouTube channel name).
Also, the command variables for the chatbot don't appear to show up in the chatbot output. So, like the tipping string that is put out for the "!tip" command doesn't contain the variables and gives a 404 error.
Any ideas what I need to do, to fix all this?

Hi, I've been trying to setup youtube member event alerts for gifts or community gifts and i cant seem to find a way to do it the only option there is for something like that is the member alert on the overlay settings page, but that makes the alert the same for all of the member event stuff like people becoming members to them gifting to others, is there a way to have two member alerts one for regular members and one for when they gift?

Well, I sort of figured out a work-around on my own. Thanks for the...uh, help. It's complicated, but if you are set up for both twitch and youtube, run an unlisted youtube and type in the twitch chatbox. This will make the YouTube chat flow freely. If it gets stuck again, simply chat in the Twitch chat. Another solution would be to stream to both platforms, but someone would need to also be chatting on Twitch. You're welcome! Hopefully stream elements wakes up one day (been the same crappy program for 5 years now) and fixes this shit.

Hello, I'm having some issues getting the chatbot connected to youtube chat. If I click "join channel" on the streamelements dashboard it will say "successfully joined your channel, and it will greet the chat, but it still shows as not connected in the dashboard, if I click join channel again, it will then act like it's joined the channel yet it will say it failed at the bottom of the screen. None of the commands work when the bot is showing as connected in the dashboard. I've made the bot a moderator and all that, so not really sure where I should look next.
