Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hello! I hate to be a bother, but I'm trying to set up alerts from a Nerd or Die package I purchased yesterday. They loaded perfectly into Streamelements and the alerts themselves work fine.

However, the issue is that if I change literally anything, as in adding a custom sound alert or even changing font color now when I test it in the editor, the image will not show at all. The sound plays fine but there is no image/animation like there was before. This happens in OBS itself using the link but also in the editor itself- just no image at all but the sound plays fine.

The window size is 1920x1080 for alert in the editor as well as OBS, so I don't think it's a size issue. No variation have been set either.

I can check on the sound files to verify if they’re all mp3. I guess maybe I phrased it wrong, when you import the alerts, there’s a custom animation that matches the look of the overlays, etc. that animation plays fine when you import it, even in OBS. But if you change anything at all, I guess it breaks it somehow. I tried deleting it and re-adding it and can confirm it works when left computer default, but I guess it just doesn’t play well with changing it in anyway? Sorry to type so much, first time I’ve ever ran into this issue.

I am tested '!kappagen 1000000' chat command, and it works just fine. One million emotes will be dropped to my OBS source. However...I wanna enable this for my viewers. So if they just drop the command above...and 10 user at the same time...I think my PC will die 🙂 It is very laggy.

My question is, is there a way to set some maximum emotes for kappagen? Or change the settings somewhere?

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Fixed your channel so it should track the chatstats. It will only track the data from when the StreamElements account is created. Since there was an issue with your original chatstats, it will start tracking starting now. You can use the import tool to transfer some info over (https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/import) but most will not affect chatstats

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

In this case you have to create a second account on Twitch with the name you want your bot.
After that, you will follow the same process to rename the bot and when the popup asks to login to Twitch, you will login with the second account you created.

Sooooo on an earlier question I had about getting the pretzel rocks bot to not show up in my on screen chat overlay. Support on their end said their bot is not a regular chat user, it sends messages directly via the API.

Would that be the reason the option to hide it on my overlay is not working? That is what they seemed to think. Is there a way around this still? The end goal is still to have a chat overlay w/o that bot showing up in it.

If the update for OBS Studio fails - i would recommend a clean reinstall. Export your profile and scene collection, uninstall SE.Live first and OBS Studio after that. Then download a fresh copy of OBS Studio, install it and then install a fresh copy of SE.Live on top

Im using two seperate sized alert boxes and I don't want double alerts.

Ok, I use Stream Elements alerts right, and they work perfectly fine. But I have Streamlabs stream labels on my stream and they also work fine, they update the label and show the elements alert still. That's great,
My question is, if I receive a donation, I know it will send the alert, but would it also update the label? If not, I need to figure out a way to fix that. The only donation I have received was before I switched to Stream Elements, so I've been unable to test it.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hello, we have a problem: Sometimes the bot misses the responses.
We use nightbot only for giveaways. To enter we use "!emote" keyword but no command with this name in nightbot. But in streamElements we have !emote command and the result is two rows of channel emotes. So when people enter the giveaway bot spams emotes in chat. However, sometimes streamElements misses the responses(stops posting emotes). All commands cooldowns are 0. No custom bot name.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hi guys, i reset my pc and tried to import my cloud backup overlays + scenes via the streamelements tab, just as ive done many times before

In OBS on "Sources" hit the + button and click Browser Source. Paste the overlay URL into the URL box and then set the resolution to 1920x1080

but this time, if i choose one of my many backup, the app asks to restart itself upon restoration
then after it is finished, obs opens up again and it says twitch auth failed, stream key is not valid anymore

even though ive disconnected and connected my account several times, pasted the stream key several times, even went live without a problem

maybe i can save the cloud backup locally so that ill have another backup on my drive for safety reasons, and then import it that way

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

No - I was running Grandmaster Nightfall helps and there were people wanting to get in line. With Deepbot I had the ability to start a queue for people to enter and be drawn in the order they came in.

Having an issue with camera resolution ~ I am using a fairly popular overlay that I found for SE and in the In Game scene I can put my camera's resolution to easily fit in the box (640x480), but for the Out of Game scene the box is a 1920x1080 resolution. If I use the same video capture device between scenes then the resolution isn't able to be changed and one box or the other is way outta whack. I can't change one without changing the other and am stuck, any ideas?

Hi, maybe someone can help with this issue. When people follow/sub/give bits etc, basically every notification in SE obs always repeats once I change the scene (even if it was 30 minutes ago). Not just one, all of them. So if 10 people followed during one obs scene, these notification will appear on screen again once I change the obs scene to another one. How can I fix this

Hey! So I'm having a serious issue with stream elements rn where my internet will cause a drop in bitrate, and then sometimes disconnects my stream. But even though I have the reconnect setting enabled in Twitch and OBS, it still causes my stream to end and iot's becoming very frustrating with my currently unreliable internet. How to separate Media Request (MR) audio in OBS:

MUTE MR FOR YOURSELF, STREAM CAN HEAR

1. Make a new overlay in the editor, ONLY add the Media Request widget.
2. Add a new browser source in OBS, add the URL and set the dimensions correctly.
3. Tick the box for Control audio via OBS
4. Go to Edit > Advanced Audio, set your MR overlay to Monitor Off. Note: This will play through the Desktop Audio, if you mute your desktop audio, it will mute the MR.

CONTROL AUDIO SEPARATELY FROM YOU AND STREAM

1. For this you will need a VAC (use command !vac).
2. Run your MR either in Chrome or in Ground Control (use command !gc). Note: Do NOT click on SHOW ON STREAM.
3. Set Chrome or GC in the VAC as an audio input and output.
4. Add the audio output from VAC as an audio input in OBS. Note: This will not be able to show the video in OBS.

My issue is i want to play music but not get flagged as i don't save it to my VOD, i set it to a 2nd channel that does not record

I THINK it might be related to 2 things that were unusual tonight................ 1. I had to edit "widget data" to remove a couple of follows that were spam bots and 2. There were some follows in between end of last stream and beginning of this 1

The other layers have been deleted altogether

I have a theory about it tho @latent plinth - Maybe the script doesn't take follows between streams into account so it calculated the time the data will take to show once before it shows it again BUT as there is more data than expected, it starts the scroll again before the 1st scroll has finished. • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hey, I seem to be having issues with the widgets. After entering the browser source into OBS the sound comes through for the alert but the image and text does not show. I thought it may be a layering issue (but since I used Streamlabs previously i didnt think this was likely) so i though a may be a sizing issue with the browser source in OBS. Set the Browser source to the same size as the widget in SE overlay editor and still not appearing in OBS. Can i get some info as to what I may be doing wrong?

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

So I add all my sources and everything works as it did before but I have this problem with my alerts source where it plays in the StreamElements Editor but not in OBS.

I am not an SE Tech, but as an example, my machine can handle animated gifs but cannot handle video clips uploaded to SE. The video playing in the overlay can use a lot of processing in the browser if your machine is slow. Mine is only a dual core Pentium !!

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hi there, im trying to uninstall streamelements se.live but i keep getting an error message saying "failed downloading installation package". im not sure what its trying to install but it wont let me continue. any thoughts?

No. Like I said, I linked my Pay Pal account. It was done at the last minute during the bank verification process, which is still pending. But I was thinking if I link my Pay Pal, then the money would be automatically re-routed to my Pay Pal.

Try uninstalling OBS (save your personal files) and then try uninstalling SE.Live. If it doesn't work, then delete the plugin folder directly

SE Live keeps crashing OBS Studios. I am fully updated as OBS goes.. and i downloaded SE Live from the website but when I open OBS and the screen comes up asking me to sign in and link my account everything goes white and OBS closes by itself.

Hiii. I asked for help regarding not getting points on twitch.tv (only getting points on watching the stream on streamelements.com) like an hour ago. I got help and tried logging out and reconnecting my twitch. I have now tried it for a while and am still not getting points. Any ideas?

Just incase it got lost earlier accounts id for elf_energy Took a while as they were streaming but their account id is 6239220c45cc0a54b181aa44. Their chat stats gives an error not found when trying to view it

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start SE.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Are you referring to channel points or loyalty points? One is ran through twitch and you must click to redeem, the other is generated by streamelements and is auto counted

They did not, I got them to set up streamelements like over a month ago and it still hasn't updated. Points leaderboard is fine but not chatstats
