Hi! Not sure if this is the right channel to ask, but I've recently been having some problems with my alert settings, specifically for my bits/cheer alerts.

I've got both the cheer alert minimum, and the TTS minimum values set to 100, but any time someone gives less than 100 bits, it reads the message out through TTS, and pops up with an alert. Not sure if theres a setting I'm missing here?

My stream information dock disappeared, I can get it back (temporarily) by disconnecting and reconnecting twitch to obs, but if I close the application and reopen it, its gone again. Any suggestions? Using OBS 27.2.1 64 bit, the issue first started with the update prior to this.

Hello everyone! I feel like I should know this already, but am getting a little lost.

Using OBS Studio, wanting to add chat sound alerts so I can hear them but not stream. Not wanting chat to show up on stream video either.

Added a browser source for chat (not a custom dock) from the Stream Elements page. Checking the option to have OBS control audio. Moved the chat browser source off of my canvas so it can't be seen.

Chat shows up in audio mixer, and I set up the advanced audio properties for the audio to monitor only.

I can't hear chat sound alerts in OBS when I test. Is there an option in the SE website overlay setup I am missing?

hi guys. I changed my twitch name a month or two ago and my StreamElements bot stopped working. my old channel was bunni_gunni and my new one is BhunnyGhunny. my account ID is 60564f5aecf8f31ee46b119f. I've tried parting the bot, logging out of SE dashboard, logging back in & joining again. it says joined, but when I stream none of my commands work and my bot doesn't announce in chat that I went live like it usually does. I've tried adding a custom bot as well to no avail. thank you in advance!

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I just downloaded the latest update of StreamElements OBS (SE.Live) and when I go to use Cloud Backup, it prompts me that it fails because I don't have room. I then go to Manage Backups and it's a blank screen and nothing loads.

this is depressing reading backlog of other people who asked about TTS but didn't get a response.. shot in the dark:

trying to get TTS donations/bits to read the USER's message on stream, not a default "X has donated Y" .. but instead you donate and it reads your donation message.

Do i need to switch to streamlabs for this? I can't figure it out in SE.

I'm having an issue where when the viewers of my stream try to redeem items using the loyalty point system from stream elements, it either says that they don't have any points (when they actually do and their points show on the leader board) or it tries to charge my account for the loyalty points (which doesn't make sense because I am an ignored user so that shouldn't be possible) Does anyone know how I can fix this?

If one is editing in "My Overlays" on StreamElements.
Editing one of the overlays, adding a file/image/video, that is way to large 1920 * 1080, but I only want to see about 500 * 300 and its more less in the middle.
And Im using "My Overlay" as one overlay and adding several overlays into that overlay, and then linking it to OBS. So I cant "Crop" in OBS in this issue.
1 How would one cut/crop from the sides. In "Position, Size and style" there is only "Width" "Height" "Top" "Left"
2 If I want to make this 500 * 300, scale up, lets say x3, so its 1500 * 900, is there any way to do this ?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to construct a command that rolls a random number then based on the output of that roll if it matches a few preselected numbers it outputs additional text.
For example !roll outputs Poundsy rolls 50. Congrats you've won xyz
if not the chosen number it just outputs the roll and nothing else.
I'm not sure how to achieve this, the roll is easy but picking up the outcome of the roll and interacting with that I have no idea.
Is this even possible and if so is there documentation that would help me with this?

To reset goals:

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

hello all. the custom bot name stopped working. and because i tought it might have to do with the upgrade to the newest OBS i tried using the beta branch for se.live , this stated it was a release to be made compatible with the latest obs release. sadly that didn't work either. So i removed obs all together and installed se.live with the obs-studio that is included in that installation package... surely THAT should work, right?

well, it doesn't. I can't get se.live to login to the bot account and stay logged in... after logging in correctly (no errors) the "send testmessage" is still greyed out and i can login to the bot again and again and again. All 4 preq's are "green"

Hey guys, I've been trying to setup the twitch item alert widget, and it only seems to apply to TTS..
When I test redeem TTS on OBS it does the sound and picture that I setup, but when I redeem anything else (Custom or standard channel points rewards) then it doesn't work. Any help?

If one is editing in "My Overlays" on StreamElements.
Editing one of the overlays, adding a file/image/video, that is way to large 1920 * 1080, but I only want to see about 500 * 300 and its more less in the middle.
And Im using "My Overlay" as one overlay and adding several overlays into that overlay, and then linking it to OBS. So I cant "Crop" in OBS in this issue.
1 How would one cut/crop from the sides. In "Position, Size and style" there is only "Width" "Height" "Top" "Left"
2 If I want to make this 500 * 300, scale up, lets say x3, so its 1500 * 900, is there any way to do this ?

Valve has implemented a trusted mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. Read more in their announcement post here https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8835-KLXV-0292#whitelist You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.
Alternately, you can launch the game with -allow_third_party_software.

Hi, my girlfriend has an issue with Streamelements alerts, she has to remove the browser source and re add it for the sound to work. The alert itself works totally fine just the sound doesnt play whether she has it on monitor or both output and monitor. Obs shows the audio meter going up when the alert goes off, but for some reason we have to keep removing it and readding it for the sound to play back to her. And the sound plays fine on stream. Any ideas or similar issue with anyone?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey gamers I have a streaming question now I have a pretty high end pc and all of my settings for obs are set for the the best performance instead of quality that I can do. Also all of my in game settings for the games I play are at the lowest they can go for competitive settings but when I’m streaming warzone and apex legends even with it saying I’m pushing over 100fps the games feel choppy and not as smooth as they should. Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hello, is there any command that I can set up which when typed by a viewer will give them points (amount determined by me) ?

We would like to have a command active for the first hour of each stream where people can claim extra points for being early to the stream.

So for example for the first hour of our stream people can type "!checkin" ONCE and receive their points. This is for loyalty points not channel points of course.

Hey all, I've seen a couple people seem to have this exact issue through searching but not much in the way of solution, so hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction if I missed it.

My alerts widget goes off every time I test any alert, but when streaming, the very first thing that would pop an alert doesn't go off. I've seen it happen with a follow, bit cheer, and a raid, so far. After the very first alert, all alerts seem to go off as normal. Any ideas what the cause might be? I've made sure the size/offset was correct and matched between SE and OBS.

i've got a user who is no longer able to !redeem using points for the loyalty store. they were able to redeem normally before, but a few days ago, whenever they attempt to redeem, streamelements responds that they cannot afford it, and says they have 0 points. whenever we/they check their !points, they do in fact have plenty of points associated to their username. this is also reflected in the points leaderboard. we've tried !setpoints to 0 and 20,000, we've got them to try to !rename themselves to no avail. this has been going on for a few streams over the past few days. help would be appreciated!

Having a very strange issue, its only happened recently. Before you ask, I am not using SELIVE,just regular OBS. my alerts are suddenly replaying when I change scene and they aren't even my alerts. I have checked all of them and they are correct. I got a big raid today and had a fair few follows. when I went to my brb scene it replayed the alerts to all of those follows. any ideas? Its driving me nuts lol. Sorry if this is the wrong channel to post

I have the same issue that @barren storm has. According to OBS this is an issue with SE.Live overwriting login cookies. Is there going to be a fix anytime soon?

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Hello 🙂 My total sub count is showing as 0 when using the [count] variable, and also shows as 0 in the session data totals page, whereas the follows is showing as the correct value. I've tried resetting the session and the problem persists

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hey! I just had a few questions about SE on how alerts work.

I use Restream and everything is pretty connected. Is there no way to connect alerts through SE and Restream so that if a follow alert came through, it would not be an awkward mess? If I have to use multiple alerts, that is fine, I was just curious.

Good evening, I have issues with the store redemption sounds in the account I'm moderating .

I have already created the store items, commands and added the widget to the overlay, at first it worked fine but now it plays one command/sound an then the other commands/sounds are not working.

In the redemption history it register them as if they were redeemed.

Hey all, I've seen a couple people seem to have this exact issue through searching but not much in the way of solution, so hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction if I missed it.

My alerts widget goes off every time I test any alert, but when streaming, the very first thing that would pop an alert doesn't go off. I've seen it happen with a follow, bit cheer, and a raid, so far. After the very first alert, all alerts seem to go off as normal. Any ideas what the cause might be? I've made sure the size/offset was correct and matched between SE and OBS.

How about a different issue. SE.LIVE won't show media request in obs. Just shows a blue screen with nothing in it

hey guys, i made a transparent video for an alert. I was told to use webm format but that doesnt support transparency. i have a .mov file that is transparent but i cant use it on your site. Is there any way to get my desired result?

  1. Right-click your OBS desktop shortcut (not the SE.Live shortcut) and navigate to Properties
  2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
