Hello, I have a couple of questions I've tried to find the answer for but with no luck. So I have media share set up with my playlist and created a browser widget in OBS. It sounds great on twitch, but I notice when I record video from OBS the music is not recorded. I have desktop muted but if unmute the music is too quiet in the recorded video. Any ideas on how I can get OBS to record the media share? I also wish there was a way to create a separate audio mixer so that I could adjust the volume, play and pause the media share without having to fill chat up with ! commands.

I hope this is the right place. I did my 1st sponsorship stream, RAID: Shadow Legends, a few hours ago on Twitch. I am supposed to do a 4+ hour stream with 2+ hours of gameplay. I had my internet go down at the 3 hour mark (1 hour 30 minutes into the game). I returned as soon as the internet reconnected and started my stream again. I played the game for another 1 hour and 30 minutes before raiding out. I had 7 of my chat sign up for the game. Then, to my nightmare, I went to the campaign tracking and it said to begin the campaign!!! Will I have to redo the entire sponsorship stream since I did not do an uninterrupted 4 hour stream with 2 hours gameplay? Same question applies in reference to not click on begin sponsorship campaign in Stream Elements.

Good afternoon, I'm still working through my widget audio issue and I need a clarification. The StreamElements instructions indicate that as long as I have the widget set up in OBS, the sound will play even if SE is not open in my browser. However, the only way I can get sounds to play (either for my alerts or my store redemption sounds) is to have the various overlays open in my browser. Am I missing something here?

guys does the media request integration feature use a noticeable amount of data and if i use the network tab under advanced to point obs to an other ethernet port will media request integration also switch to using that connection as oppose to using the older ethernet connection

Hello Everyone! I’m trying to add custom sound alerts to my stream so if someone typed !door in chat it would trigger a door creaking sound. I was able to get a “rawr” sound to work but everything else I try don’t work and I copied the same thing I did for “rawr” but changed it to the new sound and no luck but the “rawr” works all the time. If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Those values are fixed on Overlay Editor, but you can do some tricks to have that result. First, change the size of the widget, so you will have more space to rotate it.
On your OBS, open properties of the overlay link you added. Go to Custom CSS, replace it with the code below and play with the values to get the result you want :

See, I have both a youtube channel and a twitch channel, and I accidentally created a streamelements account for each of them, and it's really inconvenient for me to have to switch back and forth from both accounts so I can set up my stuff.   • Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Is there anyone out there that can help a fellow windows user figure out why my desktop audio isn't working.

The audio shows up for almost every other application. YouTube, Chrome, Tidal, Discord, and Maschine (DAW) all appear on the Desktop Audio track. when audio is played.

However when I try to play in Studio One (DAW) nothing happens. This recently became a problem today. I've uninstalled Studio One and then installed it. I also installed Stream Labs to see if it was an OBS issue and its not.

It appear all my audio drivers are up to date. Default Audio devices are set, and ones I don't need are inactive. MY AUIDO DOES WORK, but it just does not capture the audio in this software specifically, when I know 100% that it is capable of doing such.

Any suggestions on how I can solve this issue?

Hi guys, I'm having his weird issue with the custom alerts i setup for my stream, I recently just switched the browser source to stream elements because the sound alerts from isn't working well, like there's no sound even if there's a custom animation. So i followed the basic instructions for the alert box and everything but what happens when I'm live (which is right now) it doesn't work when someone follows me, i even asked helped from my friends to re-follow me just to see if it works. I tried emulating, it works BUT when someone else follows, its basically mute. All of this is happening live at the moment by the way.

So is it not working properly because I'm doing it live on stream right now?

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

is there any update on the delayed alerts issue... my alerts have been delayed (anywhere from 10-45 seconds and even then sometimes the visual component is delayed about 5 seconds behind the audio). I have tried refreshing and all basic troublshooting but I see others are having this issue too... would prefer not to switch to SL but delayed alerts are getting embarrassing 😦

I am having an issue where me and another person marked as an editor in Streamelements are unable to actually view the channel. When we select the channel to switch to, it sends us to the homepage and anything we click will just redirect to the home page as well, even though it shows we are still signed in. Signing out and back in has no effect for anyone, and this is occurring across multiple people marked as editors so nobody is able to make any changes.

I've seen some people with the same issue, even when clicking on logout button. Ask the streamer to go to Streamelements webpage (https://streamelements.com/), click on the lock icon on address bar > Cookies and remove all cookies, refresh the page and login again.
Once the streamer is logged in, you proceed the same way. Let us know if that works.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Just to confirm I have the process right. For the Follower Goal, I am expected to go into Session Data and manually change the "Follower Goal Progress" to how many followers I currently have. Once that is done, any new follows will increment that value automatically without my manual intervention. Is that correct?

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Hey everyone! Had a quick question with my alerts. I have custom sounds set up for all of my alerts, and while I can hear them through the browser preview and through OBS, I went back to VODs and realized that there was no audio, even though the alert shows up on stream. Can you elaborate? The issue is that the sub goal widget is seemingly pulling in the wrong number. It's pulling in "subscription goal progress" which is a number for all-time, rather than the correct number, which is "total subscribers".

Wonder if anyone can help. TTS seems to have a hardlocked profanity filter on it, which I would usually be fine with. But it seems to censor even soft curses when they are in the middle of another word. "Assess" for example gets muted.

I have a question regarding images used in alertboxes. I have my alert box width set to 400px , and all of my images used for my alerts are 400px in width. However, when I am previewing the alerts the images are being distorted to seemingly random widths. Does anyone happen to know why this is happening and what I can do to prevent it?

Hi,
Do you have a complete solution (an overlay) to send a message from the chat to the stream, but appearing separatly on an image (e.g. on a white square)
So e.g. I type !speak "blah blah" and as a result I see on the stream a white square with a message of "blah blah" on it.
The second message !speak "blah blah #2" should apper somewhere else, so the appearence coordinates are random.

I forget which part it was, there's a setting "edit(or monitor) with obs" that you need to enable, I just figured this out myself. Keep the browser source selected and on the top menu, one of the menu items lets you go into the source obs properties which is different from the properties button for the scene. I can take a screenshot to show you, but you'll have to wait til later(like 10hpurs from now). I hope you find it!

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I have posted about this before, but got no response. I am new to OBS and streaming (having only streamed through XBox on Twitch before). I am using the built-in camera and mic on my HP all-in-one. I am having issues with sounds on-stream:

  1. When I have music playing (Soundtrack by Twitch), viewers cannot hear it until I crank up the volume on my desktop speakers. And then, they are only getting mostly static. 2. When I shut off my mic, they are getting no music at all (so obviously, the music isn’t playing “through stream”, but rather as background on my mic). 3. Game sounds are also barely picked up by viewers, again, likely only as background on my mic. I did a check using a separate audio player (in this case, Pandora), and I am seeing the activity on the sound bar for the VOD soundtrack (which I have read means the Soundtrack plugin is “working”). I am sure I am missing something somewhere in the setup, and would love to be able to have audible music for my viewers (even while I am muted), and also game sounds for the viewers. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

If you are streaming directly from Xbox, it is not possible to add overlays to your stream.
You would need to use a third party service, like Lightstream to be able to use it together with Xbox. It is a paid service and there you would be able to add overlays to your stream. Read the information on the link I sent, you will find more information

If you want to create a command directly from Twitch chat, you can use:

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Could somebody please answer my question? Hi, today I was testing the alerts on the stream deck but realized whenever I pushed any of them (mute alerts, pause alerts, skip alert, and reload alerts) they did not do anything? I tried to mute alerts but just pushed and did nothing. I have stream elements obs open so I am very confused. Its almost like its broken. Please help!

After you added the buttons to your streamdeck, did you log out of obs via the streamelements menu and log back in?
