The merch alert overlay isn't showing the alert. Not even when I try to emulate a merch event. Whenever someone buys something from the store, it shows in the activity feed and gives me a chat notification, but no alert in the overlay.

Okay pretty new with StreamElements, was using SLOBS before. I am trying to put an overlay into my OBS, and my native background is 1440p. All the overlays try I tried don't center for 1440, everything is for 1080. Mind you I change the pre-set to 1440 in the drop down but it does not matter. Is there anyway to fix this?

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but I noticed that the Stream Elements extension on Twitch is still bugged. It shows bit leaderboards and number of times someone has subbed to the channel but the sub gift giver leaderboard still shows no data after a week? At least on my end?

Hey there! Curious if someone can help me. Custom font is showing up fine in editor but when I look at it in OBS it's some default lame font.

I've refreshed the cache on browser. Restarted all applications and both my PCs. Made sure I had the custom fonts downloaded on both computers. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Hi! I just finished doing my Raid: Shadow Legends sponsored stream but for some reason it says that I have streamed the game 0 hours and only have 27 downloads when I have 31 downloads.

Continuing from this part of my previous issue. I have contacted Twitch support and after 9 e-mails they have sent this reply.

"Thank you for your detailed reply and your screenshots. We have checked this issue with our internal teams. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide further assistance on this issue, since we do not have visibility on how 3rd party application APIs work (such as Streamlabs or Streamelements) and we have no control over them, we are not able to troubleshoot this issue from our side. We kindly ask you to contact the support/dev teams of these 3rd party platforms. We are sorry about this inconvenience and we hope it gets resolved very soon."

I'm at a total loss I have no idea what else to do to fix my subs/bits/raids/gifts not showing up on my SE activity feed which doesn't trigger my alerts I have made. It still only works for follows :(

I'm having some issues with the chatbot

  • chatbot is not replying to any commands, ie !commands
  • I'm using the OBS.Live plugin now, but I had the same issue before I started using it
  • the bot uses the default name (StreamElements), and is modded
  • "Send Test Message" works, but not anything else
  • muting/unmuting, parting/rejoining the bot, did not help

Hi! I'm having problems with streamelements tipping pages on Chrome (works fine on firefox) I've cleared cache and cookies multiple times and ive reinstalled chrome twice aswell. Whenever i open a streamelements tipping page, whether its my own or someone elses, its just a blank white page and when i try accessing my tipping page settings through the streamelements website its also just a blank page. Hi, I have a little problem regarding the team speak that is redeemed through the stream store, when redeeming I used a "!redeem" shortener with the command "!speak" (description of this command is ${redeem SPEAK} to redeem the product). This works perfectly, redeems and deducts the loyalty points.

When redeeming through the streamelements store page it redeems all the text, but the bot does not say so (Image 1). When you say redeem the item through the chat it only takes the first word. For example, if you redeem via chat (Image 2) "!speak testing how are you today?" the alert in the overlay only says "testing" (Image 3). Any solution?

So for streamelements, if I add the twitch chat overlay on my stream, will I still be able to see the chat on that overlay for myself ? I know the viewers would be able to see it, but I want to keep a track of my chat this way. This is provided that I do not have a 2nd monitor.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, I hope this is not the wrong place, but here we go:

  • I got an active sponsored campaign that contains 2 days of streaming for 2h at least
  • first 2h were streamed last friday
  • today I did the remaining 2 hours, but for any reason it didnt change on the campaign site, time is still on 2h/4h (vod is available to proof times)
  • "new players" counter shows a wrong number as well, as the overlay you provide for my stream already shows 6 more and I know about people who gave the game a try and dont show up on the campaign screen but on the overlay counter

what to do now? 😄

And the ${user} works fine because is the person who uses the command but the ${random.chatter} is always getting those random bots that are by default in Twitch streams as: Anotherttvviewer, Commanderroot, Streamelements and others.

If anyone knows how to use the ${random.chatter} but without being able to select bots or just only people that actually write something in chat would be funnier.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

so i did further testing on the whole my host image i set is not being displayed. only the host on the overlay is bugged and is defaulting to original streamelements dancing shark. meanwhile everything else using the same CSS coding works fine. idk if it is a glitch with the alert box but if i could get some assistance on this that would be ideal.

Edit: Nvr mind fixed it by disabling CSS custom as that somehow reverted to the CSS coding i already had in place. (idk how) but things are good now. only issue i still have is when people host me i wanna see those hosts of 1 viewer etc cause it goes a long way for me to thank them.

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

So I can use {user.lastmessage} to get a users last message, is there a way to get the message just before? For a command I would like the one before the last. I would like a command similar to the popular !vanish but it would have a chance to not timeout the chatter, but rather display their last message. Hi. I'm an XSplit Broadcaster user. I'm trying to set up my overlay/Alerts and I have no clue why I can't do it. I imported them from Streamlabs. I've read about having your Alert window in XSplit to be 1920 x 1080... but how do you setup the streamelements window? When I set THAT to 1920x1080 the box goes completely off my sceen. And that gray box with little dots doesn't seem to be able to be resized. I'm totally not getting this.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

One of our patreon perks is when a patreon supporter chats in twitch for the first time during the stream it plays their 10s audio clip. i.e. a custom intro sound. This triggers off the username, not an !<command> text. We used to have this in streamlabs. We found a solution in TriggerFyre after much toiling, but it's not ideal.

It would be great to roll a giveaway without the loyalty system. We don't use SE loyalty points. Even when we set ticket cost to 0, the bot still drops a message about tickets even though !enter works fine. Some way to customize the giveaway message is needed. Again, we had this in streamlabs.

We could probably solve the above with custom chat bot modules (our mod team is full of devs), but that doesn't seem to be an option. The patreon supporter clips and the giveaways are the biggest issues for us

A way to rename the bot would be nice.

Having an issue where the event rotator [ALPHA ROTATING FEED V2.2] isn't displaying in OBS the same way it is in the SE overlay view.

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

I also have been having issues with alerts not playing consistently. Specifically my raid alert. Sometimes it plays and sometimes not. I have part and rejoined to bot, re-input the web browser into my obs and tested it multiple times on stream... any know how else I can troubleshoot that issue as well?

Hello, all of my alerts on stream are super quiet. I have them turned all the way up to 100% in the overlay editor on Streamelements, but on stream, they sound as if they're on maybe 20%. Our Dashboard and Overlay Editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins is blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in an incognito tab.

But I have 1 issue... I'm currently combining streamlabs OBS with stream elements.
I would like to switch over to OBS.live and completely go the stream elements route.

However, I'm using an elgato streamdeck. and here it comes.... a mac computer xD (the new M1)

The only thing I can't figure out is how to get OBS.Live to work with my streamdeck on a mac M1.

Hello I'm having a bit of confusion with the alert % chances.

I have a rather large, ever expanding rotation of alerts for certain things (69 bits innuendos and random follow variations), how exactly does the % chance work.

If I have 10 alerts at 5% each, would that be 50% chance for base alert, 50% chance for a "random" alert with 10% each within that pool, or are these simply weights?

what would happen if I had 10 alerts with 11% each? would I end up with it being 99% for the first 9, and 1% for #10, or would it be just a 10% chance each?

How do I make it so there is an equal chance of each alert happening?

Hi, i have problems with the chatbox overlay i inserted into a obs scene. My Timerbot messages does appear in the twitch regular chat, but the overlay i made in streamelements and inserted in the obs scene, never shows the bot messages. It does work from let say Nightbot, but cant seem to make it work from streamelements link. Hope you understand what i try to explain here. So in the the chatbox made straight from streamelements site and inserted as a browser item in obs, regular messages appear, but not the timerbot messages

Ok I've been adjusting but the issue is the text is not in the font nor in the right color and the shape of the alert has been staying

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey so when I first launch OBS after logging in with twitch, the program opens like 12 windows of twitch. and plays ALL OF THEM AT ONCE. everytime I launch OBS. so I close all of them, and audio of what seems to be 2-3 streams keeps playing even tho all windows are closed

I'll try again...is there a bug in the creation of a chat overlay in streamelements sine it only tranfer bot msgs to twich regular chat, but not to the overlay code inserted in OBS? I've tried everything and its important for me since i only want to use Streamelements items in my browser objects

... the bot messages are not sent to the overlay that is On Screen. (there is a default setting that filters those out)

I made a chat overlay on the streamelements site...a regular one which i the copy the link of,,,then i insert that link into a browser item in OBS...basic this...i've activated the bot and all in streamelements so thats fine, but if i have the obs chatbox visible next to the regular chat on twitch and then type a message there then bot msg only comes up in twitch regular chat window, but not in the chatbox in OBS

🙂 let me know. Sorry for my confusion; there are like 3 different chats, and I wasn't sure which one was having an issue. The main Twitch chat, OBS Extension or Widget overlay. 🤞 that fixes it.

Hey I've got an issue- "emulation sent but alerts are paused in the activity feed" how do I fix this so I can get notifications?

Alerts can have variations with different settings per alert, and those settings can override the main one. I see a few variations are set for some of the alerts

You'd want to look at the "Variation Settings"
