Please go to your dashboard, part the bot -> logout of the website -> login again -> join the bot again, make sure it's modded and retry the commands.

Your loyalty system is disabled. Please go into Loyalty settings, enable it and make sure to set everything to where you want it to be. 🙂

hi, recent new arrival to streamelements here. i need advice about how the overlays work. i have more than one scene where chat is being displayed on screen. if i were to type /clear in twitch chat it clears the chat on twitch but in the overlay everything is still visible. how do i clear chat in the overlay?

That’s awkward… I’m not entirely sure. How large is the audio file for your alert?

In obs open the browser source properties for your scene overlay and check the boxes for shutdown when not visible, and refresh on load (should be next to each other)

It should load a fresh instance of the chat widget

Hey there! So a while back I tried to use a command in my buddy's chat and StreamElements told me I couldn't use it because it was subscribers only even though I was subbed. I didn't think much of it, thought it was just an error on his end or something. Now this other streamer I mod for switched to StreamElements as well and now I am again unable to use subscriber commands even though I'm subscribed. It seems to only happen to me. Any ideas why this is happening?

edit: we found out that the sound flies in the stream store are having issues with recognizing me specifically as a subscriber, not the commands

Hi, I have an "interesting" setup on streamlabs regarding alert sounds. I wanted to move to streamelements, but it seems like SE can't do it in the same way, I was wondering if anyone had ideas.
So, for my alerts, I have a huge variety of alert sounds. 264 sounds in the short bucket, 106 sounds in the long bucket, and 151 sounds in the medium bucket (this overlaps with the others though).
I want alerts to use a random sound from the correct bucket, but, obviously setting up 521 alert variations (or more?) is not viable to do manually.
With streamlabs I was able to specify a link to my own webserver as the alert sound, and then configure my webserver to serve a random file. This solution honestly is not amazing - it causes some delay in fetching the file, and occasionally the sounds get cut off.
I wanted to move to streamelements recently in the hopes it could handle this better, but as far as I can tell streamelements doesn't support an external link. So I would have to upload every sound file and manually configure every alert variation. Any idea how to get around that?
(I also noticed, streamelements claims to support .ogg files, but did not accept my .ogg files....)

...is there any better interface to upload images/sounds/videos with?
When trying to upload multiple files it fails at a random point (rate limit?)
So I have to do it in batches of 15 or so.
These batches still sometimes fail, at which point I retry that batch. But it turns out this still reuploads duplicate files when some of them already existed.
I don't see how I can deduplicate, so I guess I should now delete all these 321 files, then upload my actual 264 files, one by one? Some solution like ftp would be so much more usable...

Ack, the rate limits and poor file upload UI just make working with many files impossible. I can't even clean up the mess since deleting them is also 1 by 1 and gets rate limited.
I guess I can't switch to streamelements for this reason, i'll just have to wait for someone to get nerdsniped into making a self hosted solution that I can manage more directly.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

From what I've seen from earlier similar questions, it seems it's Twitch's fault in that during a raid, Twitch does host first and raid second. So as a result, host alerts get triggered before raid alerts do

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Quick follow-up, I identified the issue : turns out it was the audio format of the sounds that were supposed to play

I used .aac, supposedly my OBS doesn't like that and refuses to load either the text, the image or the sound when this is the current format. (Even though previews work fine on the Overlay dashboard)

Changed them all to .mp3 and now it works 👍

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

The streamer may have disabled the !rename command, ask the streamer or their moderator to enable it. Or it may be enabled but only the streamer or moderator can use the command.

I believe they will also need to logout and log back in. They may also need to resend a new manager link depending on if you can swap to their dashboard once they do

I was able to swap to her dashboard once she relogged. Do you know what causes that issue? Is it just the twitch auth token expiring?

Watch time is calculated off of SE loyalty. Did you turn loyalty off?

Yep, watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live.
