so... bit of a weird question... it is Twitch related, so I figure here would be the right spot...

With the new "Follower Emotes" in Twitch (I realize it's Beta), would it be possible to get StreamElements to actually follow my Twitch channel?

I have some of the commands set up to use my custom emotes at Tier 1 sub level (which I gift to SE), however, it would save from having to gift a sub if SE could just follow me instead.

I'm not looking for an endorsement but I can understand how a follow could be perceived as such.

Has this been asked before? Is there a process to make this happen?

Hey all 🙂

During a stream last night, when people would redeem stream perks/audio....which would display "[username] has redeemed [redemption name]!"

Most of the redemptions had the user's name replaced by MY username, instead of the person who redeemed it.

Anyone else experience this? It happened most redemptions, but not to all of them. Some showed the correct redeemer's name, most showed my username.

Thoughts?

Your app needs to be able to read data from twitch. There are integrations for majority of the smart bulbs on the market, if you Google “Lumia Twitch” that is an example of a tool to do what you’re looking to do

hello, I have a very annoying issue that has been around for a while, every time I try to log into streamelements I get a white screen, usually I had to restart Firefox to get the dashboard (which was very annoying) but this doesn't even work anymore, I don't have access to the site. Edit: After a quick search on this server, lots of people are having this issue, and a solution is never given (clearing cache, cookies, logging out doesn't work). Use another browser is not a solution, so please address this.

Hey there. 🙂 I'm having an issue since I switched from Player.me this week with my overlays, and it has to do with the sounds on my alert box. When I test the alerts (by "sending to OBS" and muting the desktop sound in OBS to make sure), the sounds do go to OBS properly. But when I'm streaming, the alerts pop up properly but there's no sound. Is there a setting I'm missing that I need to change? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Where can I find a reference page where i can find all the "variables" or "functions" that are useable in streamelements? I am familiar with nightbot and making commands for it but I am limited by what $(eval) can do. I'd like to be able to learn how to push and pull data using commands from some storage place. I would like to learn about customapi as well but I am having trouble trying to find information on how to use these things. Some issues:
You (or the user) changed the username. In order to fix that, you (or the user, or both) need to login again to Streamelements: https://streamelements.com/logout
In case the user is the one that changed the username, they also need to run !rename old_username command on your chat.
Make sure the streamelements user is not banned or muted, you can run these commands on your chat to fix that: /unmute streamelements and /unban streamelements

Well, the bot is a moderator, indeed. However, it has not joined the channel. Go to the link https://streamelements.com/logout, login using your Twitch account, and click on "Join Channel". Check if the bot will send a message on your chat, if so, you are fine. Otherwise, click on "Part Channel", wait 10 seconds and click on "Join Channel" again.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Go to your resub settings > Scroll down until you see "Text Settings"
Keep scrolling down until you see "Secondary Text" and "Advanced". Click on "Advanced" and you will see "Padding". Try to adjust the "Width" field.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

That looks like it's probably a timer unless you set a command keyword to be Kappa.

Go to your timers and find which one has Response Message as the message and delete it.

Either delete the box that says Response Message or delete the entire timer.

If it is a command that responds to Kappa, search for Response in the custom commands page and delete that.

I'm testing out a few things regarding TTS and cheers. On my last 2 cheers the alert went off but there was no TTS. When I emulate an event on my overlay creator, TTS works just fine. When I go to my activity feed to replay the last few events, those same 2 cheers do not trigger TTS but my previous ones do. These are all on the same scene, same cheer amount, I believe I've controlled for all variables. Thoughts on this?

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

The issue is as a user (E.g you) you can go to my twitch page and use my (Maverick_mediocre_gaming) points to redeem items.
Instead of you seeing your channel points.

I made a very simple overlay with just a "[name] redeemed [item]" widget, a "Twitch item alert" (don't know what the difference is between these) and a Merchandise Alert Box. I generate an overlay url and paste into a Browser Source on Twitch Studio. However, despite my StreamElements bot saying that an Item has been redeemed from the StreamElements Loyalty Store, no sound or gif occurs on my stream, despite having created these Items in the store. If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

The streamelements twitch extension is using the streamers account for store items and not the users accounts. Is this expected behaviour as we only noticed redemptions from the streamers account yesterday.

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

I don't know where to report this, but the "show cheer message" checkbox is malfunctioning on the "Energy Flow Animated Alerts"; it still shows the cheer message even after removing the check from the checkbox, saving, and even refreshing after all that (its doing that on the test message, can't get a actual bit test atm).

I appreciate that decapi.me does offer functions that seems not to be implemented into streamelements itself. Even though this service looks like its provided by a trusted developer, i would appreciate it more if that kinf of functionality gets implemented by SE itself. I do trust SE with my data, and i don't want to rely on thirdparty services to get a accurate up to date subcounter when i start a stream. imho

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

What is happening exactly?
The command you sent will timeout the user who type it on chat. And it is not possible to timeout a moderator or the streamer (only the streamer can timeout a moderator).

  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

okay so my chat bot seems to get "stuck" when I end my stream - Could it be related to me using a mobile connection? It shows the "notlikethis" emote when I end the stream, thinking the phone doesn't have signal, but we're using a mobile 5G router for internet, inside the house.

I know it gets stuck because the timers stop working, I have to "part channel" and reconnect it for it to start again.

I assume it thinks my channel is technically still live? Anyway to work around something like this?

Ahh yeah I have something similar (When someone gambles or roulette - SE throws a post about gambeliing) But I was in the same issue - I don't think it can read its own post. What I did was used the first command as key word. Meaning:
User: !gamble
SE: Does gamling thing
SE: See's "gamble" and that is keyword for my other command that is triggered.

Up to 30 days. The email is sent out when it is prepared, we do not have a specific date. Once you get the email, set up the payment portal and you will get paid in time.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Okay, have a question for the capabilities of Stream Elements when it comes to twitch...
Is it possible for an element to be always visible and change what it displays when a sub/follow/etc comes in, or that can have triggered changes based on streamer interaction. Coming up with a unique idea, so don't want to give too much away till I've tested it. Main reason I am thinking changing the element rather than just swapping visibility is because the element will be displaying animation loops and I only want it changing after the current loop plays, to keep the animation smooth

Hello! I've been trying to change the points awarded during a multi raffle from 5,000 to 10,000. I have changed and saved it in the module, I have turned the module off and back on again and also part and rejoined the bot, but the raffle will still only give 5,000. Is there anything I'm missing on how to change this? thanks 🙂

Kept trying things... signed out and back in re did everything I listed above and it seems to work now.. 🙂 ... Scratch that... i set it to 1,000 not 10,000 it won't go above 5.000 so i'm guessing that's the cap on raffle points
