Hiya, I'm trying to set up Media Share on my friends stream, got the widget on the overlay and things in the playlist... but I can't seem to get things to play on the overlay... granted I am clicking the playbutton on the video itself on the Media Request page but I see no other option.

Hey! I found out on Mac 10.15.7 Catalina, you can't have OBS full screen and play media requests. They have to both be on the same screen. Hopefully this helps someone because I struggled with it for an hour or two before figuring out THAT was the problem facepalm

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

If the basic tools for text editing (including stroke) are not sufficient, i would recommend using custom CSS to style the widget as you like

with custom CSS almost everything is possible - but it is custom, so you need to adjust the code yourself.

Different platforms have different tools. Our stroke in the text settings just becomes thicker and covers the text if you increase that. This is why i recommended custom CSS, it is way more powerful than the default tools.

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command

!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Hello! I'm having problems with Dynamic font sizing in StreamElements
I want texts like recent followers and subs to appear on a 250 x 80 box and adjust the size so it doesn't spill over
The problem is that, When Dynamic Sizing is enabled, it looks fine on the preview box, but when put into OBS or when the page is refreshed, The text defaults to a really small size that is impossible to work with

Couple of things to check. In settings > stream, make sure your account is connected (not just using stream key but signing in).

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

I am at a loss. I used a custom bot name for one stream. Then my commands wouldn't work at all after that stream so I changed back over to the StreamElements name. That worked until the other day. Now nothing will work for my commands. I have unistalled/reinstalled obs live/obs. I have logged out of SE online and back in, I have reset almost everything I can think of. I have even followed the previous steps of going in to the remote console and removing the custom bot. Nothing has seemed to work. Please don't tell me this is all because I changed my name on twitch and now I've screwed everything up.

That’s a twitch studio issue most likely. You can resize the overlay with the resizing handles. For best results the recommendation would be to use obs.live or obs studio

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello, I am having an error with the widgets; I use custom ccs and I can't get any font to work. I think it's glitched because even if I delete all of the css code and save, I still get the exact result. Can anyone help me?

Custom Fonts

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Click on Enable Custom Font
4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

I got the font working now, it worked when I used your way, but it breaks when I follow some guys YT tutorial. Also does the js animation have anything to do with the text randomly moving a bit each time that it is played

Don't know what the interaction between js animation and the text position is, honestly. Can you test that?

I removed the animation from CSS and I get when the test follow name is a bit longer than 5 characters I think, the text moves a bit to the right

Hi there, I'm having a problem with the alerts. Some of the alerts won't update their sound or image when I try to remove the sound or set a different image. The default video and sound just stays. I've tried saving and reloading but I can't get it to work. Any ideas?

So far, the Follower and Tip alerts work just fine, the Cheer and Sub alerts won't accept my image and keep their bling sound although ive tried to remove it

Morning!! 🙂 I hope you're well! my Watchtime and Uptime are coming back to say people have watched 0 seconds or I've been streaming for 0 seconds. Is this a bug at the moment? Also it says my followers have 0 points.. are points on stream elements different from the usual channel points on twitch?

Some alerts just randomly wont play. Mostly sub alerts from what I've noticed.
Can replay other alerts using the same variations just fine, but specific ones will just fail. They display fine with the Twitch chat notification and in the SE activity feed
I've temporarily disabled all moderation settings several times to try and track down the cause to no effect
