If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

Hi! Hoping someone knows this, the only answer I find on google isn't complete. When using studio mode, can I mute the audio in the preview? Right now if I have different scenes then the alert audio from both plays to the steam out of sync. I'd like to keep using studio but only have the program source play audio. I can't make use of "control audio via OBS" due to another issue I am having. Thoughts?

How to separate Media Request (MR) audio in OBS:

MUTE MR FOR YOURSELF, STREAM CAN HEAR

1. Make a new overlay in the editor, ONLY add the Media Request widget.
2. Add a new browser source in OBS, add the URL and set the dimensions correctly.
3. Tick the box for Control audio via OBS
4. Go to Edit > Advanced Audio, set your MR overlay to Monitor Off. Note: This will play through the Desktop Audio, if you mute your desktop audio, it will mute the MR.

CONTROL AUDIO SEPARATELY FROM YOU AND STREAM

1. For this you will need a VAC (use command !vac).
2. Run your MR either in Chrome or in Ground Control (use command !gc). Note: Do NOT click on SHOW ON STREAM.
3. Set Chrome or GC in the VAC as an audio input and output.
4. Add the audio output from VAC as an audio input in OBS. Note: This will not be able to show the video in OBS.

Is there any way to persist the custom bot name? If I close OBS (and along with it OBS.Live), the bot name reverts back to "StreamElements". If the custom bot name is so inconsistent, it doesn't make sense to use a custom bot. I fear that it will simply confuse my viewers. While debugging with --remote-debugging-port=40404, I noticed that the Activity feed isn't making straightforward REST calls to set the bot name. Instead, it's using some other protocol that seems like it would stop working as soon as OBS shuts down.

The closest I've found to a workaround is using a Web Scrobbler (Chrome extension) to scrobble, thinking that perhaps I could use the browser to play the media requests. But nope, streamelements isn't a supported website for the Web Scrobbler. (I did post a feature request on Github on behalf of everyone trying to get this working).

After trying out Ground Control, it works perfectly to separate audio (which I've done with Voicemeeter). However, scrobbling so I can display "Now Playing" on stream is the issue.

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hi there, I recently made the switch from streamlabs to stream elements. I set up new alerts and just redesigned my whole stream and pretty much everything works perfectly! That is, except my follower stats, which for some reason don't seem to come through across the entire platform. All my other alerts work except follows. They also don't appear on my dashboard or in my activity feed... Everything else does (hosts/raids/bits) which is why this seems particularly weird to me. Found the issue. The account has not been created properly, would need to be deleted and re-made (opening a saved overlay shows an error aswell).

I see no history or commands on that account, so it has not been done much here.

The video not available in your country is a regional block that can't be bypassed. The media request is loading the videos on our end pretty much, so there is no way to avoid it

You have no contributors (people who did buy anything from the ingame shop) - so the publisher will not approve higher goals in that case. Your current maximum is what we can get now. If you get a few contributors (5-7 or more) before the timer runs out, we can take a 2nd look at it

Hey there, when i first used OBS Live my twitch activity feed was able to replay alerts etc, it also had a purple background, couple months ago it disappeared and now when i re open activity feed through the dock menu it comes up with a black and white version but i can no longer replay alerts. I also can't see donations on the activity feed but i used to on the old one? Any clue on how I can get the old activity feed back?

@lament blade or could I potentially go to the “overlay canvas” add the background like usual then add a video source the same size as the canvas then potentially adjust the run time so that the video finishes and hopefully disappears showing the background ground i had set

Though 15 is a safer length.
