If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello. In one themed overlay, they sometimes have 2 different designs for alerts. Say I'd like to make all the alerts with the same design (using design 1), how can I do that?

When I go to design 2's alert, I'm unable to see design 1 to switch to. Is there a way I can download design 1 and upload it to replace design 2 if there isn't a way to change it directly from the overlay set itself?

Hello. I have one more question. I am trying to create a monthly Sub Goal. My total existing subs now are at 76, and I'm not sure where 154 came from? (all combined?). How do I do it so that the number of subs only records from the 1st day of the month till end of the month ? Thank you ❀️

To reset goals:

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Need some advice people! Did another stream today, had some new followers during my stream. I stream via ps5 but no alert came up on my screen and nothing in the chat to say they'd subscribed.. However they saw the overlay from their screen.

@sleek flare Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

There's a user in my chat, that can't use commands to trigger sounds like everyone else with enough points. The command itself is set up in the chatbot and uses $(redeem sound). If he tries the bot only sends the message "Sorry you don't have enough points", although that's not true. The only difference to other users in my chat is, that he changed his username with the !rename command a while ago. Is there maybe a bug when renaming oneself? His points and watchtime were both moved correctly and are still counting up.

@timber lion If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I guess not haha sorry. I have a problem setting up timers. I have a timer set for the commercials, every 8 minutes. When I add a second timer, it bugs everytime the two meet. For ex. If the second one is set every 10 minutes, after 40 minutes, only the second one works, the other one is not.

@smoky current I believe you should when it comes to timers, perhaps something is different when it comes to running ads
try to create a gap between their intervals. otherwise please elaborate on the exact behavior you're seeing, as in, for example, if one works, do you see the second timer popping up afterward?

sorry that's a bit confusing, I suggest testing with much smaller intervals (like 5 - 10 minutes) and not have timers be sent at the exact interval - make a screen recording of the issue as you experience it and we'll be able to further advise
you can always try this as a start >
Please part the bot from your dashboard > logout of StreamElements at https://streamelements.com/logout > log in again > re-invite the bot > mod it (make sure it's not muted).
