One more question which I asked on an email: PayPal is making me verify with every single donor (they put the payment on hold), the email (shown in the picture) says to choose entertainer. How do I get PayPal to do that? I tried googling and I can't seem to find anything.

They should have a guide on how to add an overlay from us to their system.
That being said, unless stuff has changed last time i looked at their tools/system (which was when mixer was gaining a lot of traction), there is a browser source option or webpage of sorts where you paste the overlay link.

hey fam, intermittently when I load up ground control I get this error:

sometimes I can reopen it and it's fine, sometimes a reboot fixes it

Like, they work if I look at the loyalty settings, and activate them from there. And if I redeem in the channel itself, the bot adds in the chat that I redeemed them, but nothing sounds/shows?

this is the weirdest.

let me be clear about this-

I might have forgotten about the separate redemption widget, it has been 6-8 months since I streamed.

But I have not changed a single item in my overlays since then, and I used redemtions on my stream continuously for over two years before that. I had multiple redemptions by my watchers on a daily basis.
Last friday I streamed again for the first time since my surgery, and it didn't work.

I now added the redemption widget to the overlay and it works, but... how can it not work if I haven't altered it?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@topaz nacelle The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Looks like !addpoints can only target usernames that are already in the loyalty system. You should be able to add points to a user after they've been in your chatter list/eligible to receive points for at least 10 minutes. Alternatively you can give any user points from the 'Give Points' button in the top right of this page - https://streamelements.com/dashboard/leaderboard/current , then the command should work.

In My Overlays, I have a lot of layers and it takes me a lot of time to reposition layers that are stacked on top of each other. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to easily reposition lower layers in an overlay?

Then I tried to click and drag an image(in its own group) but it still only clicks and interacts with the image/layer above it. this is what it currently looks like. So i made this for people/myself that use athenascope to auto capture clips based on kill feed etc. This covers most of the triggers for the AI so you can warm up without having to go into the athena program to delete clips of your warm up

@tawdry olive The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

@jaunty flume Due to a recent change from Twitch API, these features are affected by the change:

  • Ground Control does not have Custom Bot name
  • Subscriber count will count the Channel and any other permanent sub you may have (+1 or +2 or +3 on top).

We are working on fixing both issues, but there is no ETA. OBS.Live still has Custom Bot name working fine in it.

Hi, I am having an issue with streamelements, I set everything up with obs and twitch and it all works fine except when today I received my first donation. I did not receive the donation on twitch, nor the notification or anything whatsoever, I only know I got it because my donor told me and I can see it in my paypal balance now.

@daring helm If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi. I tried to build a little chat bot addition for gaming purposes with nodejs. Works fine. Passwords unchanged, just oauth created for my own account plus my bot account I use with streamelements regulary. Now, I cannot re-connect my "gooxbot" with streamelements as custom bot and I am even not be able to send testmessages with my visually connected "der_goox" account. When the Authorisation box opens with your browser extension, everytime I get the "cookie accept" hint, so I assume there is something wrong with the cookie or session cache.
I would like to reconnect my custom bots.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

@mossy garnet There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

question about alerts. I have a viewer that streamelements completely ignores when he does any paid interaction that is supposed to trigger an alert. If he does them anonymously the alerts work. Hi! I got a problem with media requests. I turned the feature on, configured it, added it to an overlay and added the overlay as browser source to my obs scene... But if I press "Show on Stream" an error occurs: "No active widgets were detected for media request"

To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@surreal crag You can test alerts via the Emulate bell on the lower left side of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard > My Overlays > pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the Preview LIVE on stream option is on to see the alert in OBS/XSplit** https://streamable.com/vtulg9

yes when i test them they work and when i stream they do not work but they show in the activity box

you can just open the page on your pc and add a screen capture source to your OBS to show everyone
