I'm having an issue with my alert box not rendering the video when I switch scenes in OBS. I start an alert on one scene, the video and text appear. I then switch scenes during the alert, the text is there, but the video is not. I'm using the same overlay, URL and browser source. any ideas?

Q. A few months back I setup a custom bot user on Twitch, then added it to OBS / StreamElements as noted in the how to article. A few months later I can no longer get the bot to work. I add it, and will not send a test message. None of the auto comments come up, if someone subs or follows no pop up messages. I have to either go back to my user name or the StreamElements bot.

I've repeated the setup process and still no change. Something change or am I doing something wrong that this no longer works?

I watched the video, and unfortunately it didn't answer my questions. specifically, I'm trying to make it so that it won't randomize the alert for anonymous gifted subs vs. community gifted subs. it seems like this isn't possible because the only variation parameter that allows a condition of "at least" 2 is community gift, and when I turn off "pick alert randomly" one of these two is always grayed out. is there a known workaround for this?

I figured out how to access the API data for watchtime, posting the link in case anyone else is searching for how to do this in the future. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

There is no variation specifically for anonymous gifts. The "gift" variation is for a single gift sub to a specific viewer. The "community gift" variation is for a bulk gift to multiple random viewers.

I'd like to report a bug concerning Browser Sources, that appears as soon as the plugin is installed and also disappears when uninstalling it. Somehow it seems to mess up some positioning (in this case margin-top: auto; inside a flex container). You can see the result with the plugin on the left, compared to without the plugin on the right.

@topaz meadow 10 minutes of watch time is given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled to watch time to work properly.
There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

Im planning to do a giveaway with the ticket / loyalty system. I did set up the loyalty system 2 weeks ago. But some of my viewers did watch me more over the holidays and less since then. So they have many channel points but not so much loyalty points.
Is there any way to "transform" channel points to loyalty points?
Right now i have a Channel Point Event set up to transform 10.000 Channel Points to 1000 loyalty Points. But i have to give them the loyalty points manually in the chat

@slim dawn if a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

from my experience it seems like points were reset some time ago. otherwise we'd see in all-time the difference between the current points and the ones that were 'taken away' somehow

Ah, I see what the trouble was.. I was looking at the default activity feed instead of the specific StreamElements activity feed~! Although, the only option is to name it directly after yourself? I can't make up a custom name like "Mymbot" or something? Having it have the same username as myself might be kinda' confuzzling for users in chat, no? And it still seems to show up as "Streamelements" in my list of chat moderators too? sighs

I see it on the viewers (and registered as a mod) but it dos'nt seems to be able to post my timer messages and to respond to the commands. It used to wor but it's been 1 week not working regulary. @lethal jasper If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Is there a way to prevent an alert from happening if someone unfollows and refollows. I have a follower who unfollows and refollows almost every stream and the follow alert pops up every time. Is there a way to prevent that from happening so the alerts only happens the first time the follow?

this isnt exactly MY problem, but a problem a friend of mine is having. Basically, StreamElements is not recognizing nor alerting new followers. His dashboard has no follower data, even though he received some new followers since his transition to SE. Any ideas on what could be happening and how could it be solved? Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
3. Click on Enable Custom Font
4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Make sure the command is set to an appropriate level though.

You should be able to do the same if you have access to his dashboard. (I don't know how the editor commands work.)

Nope. Unless you want to delete profiles, hit Reset UI, there is no "easy" button.

And even hitting those won't reset configurations you made to mixers or overlays.

hi there, needing some help with audio issues. I started steam playing music and my desktop audio was not working but my mic was working and sounded fine. everything in my audio mixer appeared to be working great. I was able to fix my desktop audio by adding a new desktop audio amd muting the old one. The desktop audio started working fine but then i started sounding static in my mic. I restarted stream and the new desktop audio was now not working and the mic still sounded static. Is there any way to diagnose these issues without having to go live?

Hey everyone I’m having an issue with my twitch. It is saying unstable connection but I just upgraded with anew router and internet 600 and I used to have internet 300 and now it’s unstable I don’t get it like what’s going on is their any setting I can do to fix this issue ?

@little bronze Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

Not possible. *** only appears when Twitch enforces its link removal setting in your Twitch account.

You can set banned words in Twitch, but that'll just plain prevent them from typing those particular words out at all.

When I tested it out an issue that kept happening is since it requires you to put multiple sources in, at least the way I did it, and it would play twice because of it unless I muted one

Hi there! I am working on my alerts overlay and I have tried uploading my own GIF image multiple times but each time, and ONLY for 'subscriber' alerts of all kinds (gifted, resub, first sub, etc) it uses a shark dancing gif and not the image I put. Any thoughts?

I have adjusted all the variations and every variation I have has the same GIF file uploaded to it. That GIF file works in other alerts but not in "Subscriber Alerts"

go to My Overlays -> edit button on the overlay you want to edit

(+) button -> stream tool -> stream chat

then (+) button -> top option bellow the search field -> alert box

save on the top right

and then add the overlay like this:

@willow ravine If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@whole stump There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
