@carmine belfry if a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Hi there, Streamelements experts. So, I have a custom overlay and I have added it as a browser source inside of Streamlabs OBS. My overlay has a "Media request" widget and requests and whatnot are working fine. However, where do I adjust the volume of the track? I tried adjusting the volume on the YouTube video itself, but it doesn't let you slide the volume.

Hi there! I'm stuck. My partner is using stream elements through OBS for her overlay and widgets. However, she is not receiving any alerts during stream EXCEPT for raids. Followers do not show up at all. Her Follower count doesn't update and her Latest Follower is blank.

Her activity feed is showing raids but no followers or other events.

Please help! I've been looking everywhere for a way to fix this. Thank you!

Anyone else having an issue where the StreamElements bot is timing out a user twice in the "mod activity" log due to spam filters? It gets kind of annoying when SE clogs the log up with duplicates.

I've managed to create a new profile with said key, the issue is I seem to not get the Activity Feed / Chat / Stream information widgets when on said profile - are those things that are just impossible to get into obs.live while on a guest steamer key, or are they hiding somewhere? 🙂

any help appreciated, my internet speeds test for 50mbps+ upload speed but when I try to stream I cant hold a 6000 bitrate at all. any suggestions on how i can fix my problem?

@analog scarab There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@cedar shell if a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Hey guys,

I love your Loyalty System and the implemented Stream Store, but I have two questions about the implementation of soundeffects.

  1. Whenever a user wants to play a soundcommand he has to type "!redeem [item name]". Is it possible change the command to ![item name]?
    Example: instead of typing "!redeem cat" just type "!cat" to play the sound

  2. Is it possible to give some soundcommands just to certain users?
    Example: Only Hans can play the soundcommand "!redeem Hansi".

@cedar shell just had a similar case where Paypal did not send notifications and transactions were "unclaimed" for the sender.

This was fixed by adding a withdrawal method to Paypal - bank acc or card.

Hi I have been using SE for about 3 yrs & GC a little shorter, in all this time i have never had my bot announce a host (someone hosting my channel whilst im broadcasting). i got so annoyed (tried to sort it to no avail) || just started using scorpbot just to announce my hosts. anyway my laptop had to be reset back to factory so thought the issue would be gone. but it hasnt please help.

The best bet would be to check with Sony. If the camera shows up as a webcam on the PC, it will work in OBS.

well, its complicated the way we run commercials hahah basically, this is for a streamer I mod which is not very techy, and sometimes she says that she thinks the commercial is not running, so she likes to have a chat feedback when we run ads to have a clear mind that it is indeed running. For that, we are resorting to have a timer on streamelements that calls the "!commercial" command on nightbot, so that she can verify if the command ran or not (nightbot says when the ad didn't run for some reason). The result is that, if I leave the timer running when the channel is offline (for the reruns), the chat becomes flooded with those messages even when it is not having a rerun, which i'd like to avoid :c

Twitch does not specify that there is a rerun, it is treated as a livestream essentially, so there is no way to separate them on our end for now @cursive knoll

@swift light If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hey, I've been streaming on SE for about 4 months now. Within that time, I have not encountered any issues. Yesterday when I attempted to start my stream I got an error that I had not had. It tells me that I "Failed to connect to server" and that my "Hostname is not found." I attempted to fix the issue by changing servers, messing with my own DNS and even going as far as to reset my stream key. Is there any way that I can solve this or am I simply experiencing an outage and will merely have to wait it out?

I might have missed this somewhere, or I am overthinking what I am doing. Issue I am having is that with the sub alert variations that I have set up. Despite the regular new sub alert that is in place, adding any variations only seem to fire if it is marked specifically as a gift, multi-gift, T1, T2, T3 or Prime sub. Any resubscriptions that come in, regardless of its variation being set will only fire off as a New Sub. Is there something I should adjust to get the subscription alerts to work properly with variations?

Hello, I have recently been trying to stream, but my StreamElements Activity Feed doesn't populate at all. The activity feed on the Twitch Stream Manager works fine, but the one through StreamElements does not, this also causes my alerts to not work.

Is there a way to format the chat widget using CSS? I have been considering switching over to SE from SL, but am having issues with re-creating the exact formatting that I have with their widget. Specifically, it allows fixed-width columns for username and chat with each column having separate alignment. It looks like the SE implementation only allows for word-wrapped text that takes up the entire widget width?

@broken bane So when someone raids you, Twitch sends the raid event and then instantly the host event, meaning they are essentially the same thing.
So the label you want to use will show the proper person. The default text on the "host" lable widget is just "hosts" because its what the widget is called. You can change the text on it.

There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

I might have missed this somewhere, or I am overthinking what I am doing. Issue I am having is that with the sub alert variations that I have set up. Despite the regular new sub alert that is in place, adding any variations only seem to fire if it is marked specifically as a gift, multi-gift, T1, T2, T3 or Prime sub. Any resubscriptions that come in, regardless of its variation being set will only fire off as a New Sub. Is there something I should adjust to get the subscription alerts to work properly with variations?

I was also asked by Renziito if I had the variation settings enabled, and they have been since they were created.

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I have issues with some browser sources, such as SoundAlerts and Triggerfyre. Both refuse to play when triggered, I've enabled and disabled Hardware Acceleration and refreshed the cache, and used new Urls multiple times, and this isn't doing anything.   1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).
