If the twitch app for iphone don't have the option, I don't think it's possible without some kind of capture device. I know QuickTime on the mac can capture the screen of the iPhone over USB, perhaps there's a solution for Windows by a third party for that?

The captues I've made over USB on MacOS are same quality as on screen. However, LonelyScreen uses AirPlay which adapts quality to the network conditions. If you don't have a Mac, or HDMI capture device, I don't think there's much to do.. You COULD point a webcam to the screen, and capture that way, though. Not very elegant, but would work.

@lament blade Avermedia has some, that are cheaper than the elgato devices. However, I live in Denmark, no idea what the selection in Walmart is. But there are other options, and I would say any device capable of doing full 1080p capture, would work. But you'd also need either an AppleTV or HDMI output adaptor for the iPhone to actually get the phone connected to the capture device.

Well, I'm not using capture from the iPhone for live video, so don't know what options you have for connecting, but if the cables are that cheap, you could try to get one, and connect it to the TV to test quality, before buying a capture device. I mean if the output quality on your TV/Monitor is not good enough, it won't be worth getting a capture device. 😉

Depends on how you setup your stream. You can have a 1080p capture device, and have the PC scale the image to eg. 720p or whatever you want.

Also worth noting, that when I connect my phone to the TV with airplay on my apple TV, it behaves exactly as in every apple keynote. That is, you see the phone frame around the actual image, and black borders around it. It's less of a problem in landscape mode, though.

So if you play games in portrait mode, you might wish to crop the image, and apply a backdrop, or move the phone to one side, and have webcam on the other, if streaming with cam.

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

i would suggest also looking at asking OBS if there is something for 'latency' but you said you streamed on Mixer before. was that with with OBS as well @keen belfry ? That's the only latency thing i know for the video option in Twitch. (there is also a 'chat delay') but that's probably about the same delay when set to 0.

Hi, i stream on Twitch using OBS and since 2-3 days every 20 minutes (more or less) a streamelement message is shown in chat, saying "not able to load commercial, log in with streamelements to fix" or something like this.
The point is that I AM logged in with SE (with Twitch), and everything else (like music, chat commands, alerts) works fine.
What should i do to fix?
If that can help, i started getting this messages after cleaning cache/cookies/browser memory.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@sacred lichen 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

First my stream seems to start in IRL every time I start up even if I had ended it and haven't changed it from the game I was playing previously. Secondly the streamelements addon to obs will let me change the game that i'm playing but wont allow me to change the stream title in the activity feed area.

Hey there. I would like to know your opinion. I use OBS Studio and StreamElements. I have 4 browser sources. Each source contain ether an alertbox, eventbox, store redemption or a countdown timer. Does anyone know how that will impact my performance? Should I try to use as few browser sources as possible?
I like it this way. because then I can use the same sources on multiple scenes. But place them where I want on the scene.

@whole nova 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@subtle sonnet Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Now, I don't care about the stats I had previously and just waited for a month, hoping the system would need some time to recognize the change, but without any luck. Hey , having an issue with the Stream title and game update when I try to delete the current stream title it just doesnt delete?

and for the game title it deletes until the last letter then refills in

@lament blade There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

when i add the browser link to obs it says add a width and high but when i do 1920x1080 it doesnt really fit the way i want it to or it seems weird to resize it

Or should i just add everything in streamelements for one scene

Or does it resize itsself

@novel junco To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website), and ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Set up an overlay for each scene

Then add the overlay for your obs scene

Then when you switch scenes in obs, your overlays will be correct

Each element is placed inside the editor which is a 1920x1080 placeholder which reflects the default OBS canvas. When you add your overlay to obs you’ll add it at 1920x1080 so it fits the canvas and the elements display as they do in the editor

Oh i found out how to do it thanks i got a picture from like valorant pic and made it 1920x1080 and made it transparent

Due to Valve making OBS's game capture unusable, you can use Window Capture for that

@fringe saddle Valve has implemented a Trusted Mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. See: https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless windowed and use Window Capture instead. Alternately, you can launch the game with  -untrusted but this will lower your trust score with VAC and may affect the quality of your matches.

You can test Alerts via the Emulate bell on the lower left side of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Preview LIVE on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/vtulg9
