Just to confirm, you're using OBS 28 right? If so, try installing obs 27: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/27.2.4

It does but the reason that it is crashing is because of a plugin that is not compatible. Do you have any other plugins installed?

You should be able to change it back to the Custom name, but if it stops, try these steps

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters).
   Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Sometimes when I switch to a scene (in this case "Stream Ending") it throws a whole screen full of my sub emotes bubbling up from the bottom?

I didn't set this up or choose for it to happen

I do have a kappagen scene but it is added as a separate browser source and is only to put 1 emote up the screen when typed in chat

Below are the layers in my scene. There is a layer named object 3 (I don't know what this is, it's not named kappagen and I certainly don't remember creating it, however it does have mentions about emojis in the settings)

I will also show below the settings of this "object 3" Could this be the reason why the screen is filled with my sub emotes when i switch to it?

It may be quite an obvious answer than I answered myself, however I just want to be sure this "object 3" isnt actually something else isn't something different 🙂

Have you tried clearing your data cache for that in the StreamEle dashboard in whatever scene(s) you need? Should be a gear at the top right when in a scene in that dashboard. I know if I have an issue, clearing that helps. I forget if you then have to type in the current amount for it to start at again

When you install OBS Studio, you need to select the browser source during the installation - if the checkbox is not selected, OBS Studio will be installed without a browser source.

So a good solution for that is using Fire API from Thefyrewire, so you can create a big list on pastebin and don't need to edit the command every time you need to add something. OBS doesn't have a way to split audio sources by default as of version 28. There may be plugins that have that capability, but you will probably have to wait (v28 changed things and plugins need to catch up). The OBS discord has a plugins channel that would probably be the best place to ask.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

Hi, I have an inquiry about the streamelements media request.

Brand new to utilizing it. For our twitch stream, we would like to have users requesting ONLY 2 songs for the entirety of the stream. ONLY 2. We have found there is no way to give a total limit, only a "songs in queue" total.

Is there a way to limit total requests per stream?
This would be very helpful to us. Otherwise, people would add a third request and we have to manually tell them they can't have a third song and delete it.

Okay, you just told me "limit how many a user can request". No, you cannot. You can only limit how many they hold in the queue at a time. They could give unlimited song requests. The situation was, a person added two. Those were played. They requested a third and we said "You've had two. That's enough." We deleted their third. Then they requested a forth time.

I had a custom host alert, was PERFECT-O, but for some reason when copying it to other scenes, it breaks the box and resets the alert to default. Splat Week is tomorrow and I am livid.

It transfers, but I think that the editor gets confused that there are two alert boxes.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3. Stop your stream/recording.
4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

Recently updated OBS and SE Live, now my hotkey for the media request dock doesn't save. The commands in chat work fine and everything else just can't save hotkeys. Any advice? I've tried removing the dock and adding it back again.
