Does anyone know the best method for multistreaming when using a camera as far as what is more or less computer hardware/network resource friendly to do?
These are the ones that I have thought of:

• Add the camera source in each canvas
• make a scene on your default canvas >> add the camera as a source in full screen >> add the SCENE to each canvas

I'd like to be able to just add a scene because in that case I can manually build out the Youtube canvas and then when I move to the Twitch/kick canvas I can simply add the scene's and change screen size from 4k to 1080p and it already has all of my alerts and everything I want on that scene in the right place.
I also am not sure if that is going to be using the same renderer since it's all using the same scene at the same resolution but it might also be down scaling it 2 times because of that same reason instead of just once. I am just not 100% sure, so if anyone had any knowledge or past history with this, the assistance would be greatly appreciated.

While troubleshooting, I ended up somehow accidentally deleting both sources, EQ stacks and all. Is there any way to possibly recover those, or am I utterly boned here?

it depends on if they were recorded on the same audio track as well.

You could make a copy of the video file and extract the audio file from there that are just the tracks and you would be good as long as it was different.

If it was picking both pics up on the same channel though, I don't know what could be done at that point.

I do this. I also do it with my audio.

As far as making it more computer friendly, don't downscale and stream at the same resolution/bitrate/fps to all outputs.

Exclude the music from track 2 and it won't be on the twitch vod. Exclude it from track 1 and it won't be on the twitch stream. You can set the audio track for each stream output in SE.Live, but you'll have to do some work to get everything you want on the right tracks.

Okay so before I got SE Live I set up my audio so my vod was on track 6 does SE Live automatically make track 2 the vod audio?

OBS only uses track 2 as the twitch vod track if you enable it; it cannot use any other track.

I do it for my audio as well, I just randomly started having a problem to where some scene's weren't showing up, so I thought I was nesting too many things. like a scene inside of a scene inside of a scene.

I just wasn't sure if doing more than 1 scene in a scene would cause a problem either. I have them set up for audio, alerts, games, etc. It's my main scenes are essentially my "resources buckets" that I put things into if they belong in the same thing.
For example: on a BRB screen, I don't want any desktop audio coming through or my microphone coming through. I only want my alerts and alert sounds, so I have them split up a lot.

Scene within scene should work; I would imagine there might be a limit but that would be a question for the OBS discord.

The only way I know how to get the sources would be to get a copy of the source video like I said then unless the project has some auto save state from before it got messed up. 😕

And my final question is how do I link my YouTube Scenes with my Twitch Scenes to where they swap at the same time cause right now i have them linked but Twitch switches scenes and youtube doesnt swap until Twitch is done so I hear music until YouTube Finally transitions

When I record in OBS it's always video so I just ASSUMED that it was a video, that's my fault, I should have asked for more details.
The editing software that I use (Resolve and before that Adobe) always saved progress in project files and didn't overwrite the initial file.

I just tried installing SE Live to replace Aitum, but the Vertical Canvas isn't showing up.
Any reason why? I've disabled Aitum from a Plugin Manager.

I've reinstalled OBS in the past as part of troubleshooting some issues. I know that when you reinstall, your current settings are backed up, including audio sources et al. Are those backups deleted after reinstalling? If not, where are they located, and might I be able to use them to recover the audio sources/filters I accidentally deleted (#community-helpdesk message)?

When you uninstall OBS it prompts you to save your user data. If they were saved they should be in %appdata%\obs-studio\basic

You can look for files where there's a .bak file that doesn't have a non .bak file that goes with it. Can also try asking the OBS discord.

Just pay very close attention to the account association process and the first stream, delete the existing configuration for the stream itself both on SE and your YouTube account

Alright, I’m having an issue. When I start my stream on Twitch and set the canvas size for TikTok to vertical, the stream won’t start. SE.live is causing OBS to crash. When opened, it opens to the bottom right(under the arrow, im on windows)

When i double click to upen something pops up quick then disapears and obs closes.

Fixes the crashes:

• Uninstalling se.live
• Safe mode

It was working fine for quite a while then this randomly started after driver update i think

Fixedish or found the setting that caused the crash.

When setting obs to open in system tray, then trying to open from system tray(arrow in the corner lol).

• When that setting is on, it will cause obs when se.live is installed to crash

Q: Anyone else still stuck in an Update Loop in OBS for SE Live? It just doesn't seem to end. Keeps asking for update, If I do update it just comes back again.

I Tried:

1. Uninstalling SE Live
2. Reinstalling
3. Works first time with no pop up when you open OBS
4. After you close OBS and re-open it then asks to update a "Hotfix" again, over & over & over... Obnoxious.
5. Log out/in

Endless hours wasted. I have used Stream Elements for around 8 years and never has it been this unstable/unusable.

Hey guys! 👋 I'm trying to figure out the command to set variables when triggering a response, if anybody has the answer.

For example; !rigged could trigger "What? No way!" , "This is rigged?" , "This isn't rigged is it?" , "How dare you rig this!" or any others and for it to choose as a random response.

if you want to stream only on tiktok using streamelements, you have to set tiktok as a primary first, then the error wouldnt appear. just give it a try. it works on me

it maybe the default streamkey on OBS is set to twitch, so you cannot stream on tiktok. you can check the default streamkey in OBS setting. Setting > Stream tab > default URL and streamkey. if the streamkey is still on twitch, change the tiktok as primary, then the streamkey would change to tiktok url and streamkey automatically so that you can go live on tiktok. If still failed, try to relogin using tiktok account and repeat the steps

Hello, I have made a custom chat widget fianlly got everything aligned quickly but the issue i am having. It is not showing up the custom Twitch emotes moving or still emotes. from what i saw I need to allow Show third party emotes (BTTV/FFZ), but I do not see that anywhere. Hey everyone! I'm hitting a wall trying to log into StreamElements via OBS, and I need some help.
When I click "CONNECT WITH TWITCH", a new browser window opens, flashes "Logging you in" for a quick second, and then just goes to a solid gray screen. It stays stuck there and I can't complete the login.
This all started right after I formatted my PC (I'm on Windows 11). I've confirmed that both OBS and StreamElements are on the latest version, and this happens across every browser I test (Brave, Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

Hello there! I am having a really frustrating issue where everytime I try to stream to Twitch as the primary destination it will drop a lot of frames (65%) and show that I am streaming with a very unstable connection (between 0 kbps to 6000 kbps), but when I use Restream or any other platform as the output I have absolutely no issues.

How do I add a thumbnail on YouTube? Yesterday I started my first multistream — TikTok was set to “live” via OBS/SE Live, and I was live on TikTok as well, but over three hours not a single person joined the stream. It feels like it wasn’t being pushed at all.

I’m not sure whether that’s an issue with TikTok or SE Live, but this never happened when I was using Aitum. Is there anything I can change or fix without having to switch back to Aitum?

I saw someone mention this a few weeks ago, and I guess it's "not an issue", but it's duplicating and clogging up the logs something fierce. All my SE overlays are spitting out either:

You have to wait until TikTok approves streamelements part of it. You’re able to go live through TikTok itself but since we’re using streamelements, it has to be approved. It’s like it’s own separate entity!!! I had to wait when I first starting multistreaming

I see your problem, you logged into tiktok through your mobile and are trying to use that through your PC obs app. log out of your mobile and install ther TT app on your PC then redo the multistreaming steps

GUYS AND GALS, you CANNOT use both mobile and PC formats together through the OBS PC app, it just won't work as the OBS pc app looks for the other platforms tied to your PC.

The reason it's got a red dot is because your phone has a camera and since the OBS pc app cannot see that camera, it won't work. IF you are going to multistream, you need to be on the PC platform.

Okay so first of all: I'm not a SE staff member, "just" a volunteer doing this in my free time so take anything I'll now say with a grain of salt.

From what I have seen, heard, read - it actually is a problem with TikTok. They try their best to "force" their users to use TikTok Live Studio or whatever it's called, instead of 3rd party software.
See how Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and back then even Mixer and FaceBook worked pretty decent most of the time. Because they actively welcomed 3rd party software and often made changes to their own infrastructure to make things work. This is not the case with TikTok.

Many 3rd party developers use loopholes to get their software working with TikTok, but they usually find that out pretty quick and close them.

But Se are providing a service saying how the plugin can support TikTok but its not and everyone is having this problem. Yes its tiktok but if I was SE I would look into why this is happening since its not working anymore. I'm not sure if SE are working directly with TikTok or not but some acknowledgement about the issue would be nice.

People are toxic. If StreamElements were to make a public statement that the TikTok integration doesn't reliably work (for whatever reason), Twitter and other social media channel would burn.

Our competitors would use this as an advantage to promote their services, even though they have the exact same problems but obviously wouldn't wanna acknowledge it. And when someone switches their whole streaming setup (overlays, alerts, OBS itself) to a new service just to find out it doesn't work either, they definitely would't switch back because of all the work they put into it getting working over there.

Trust me, it's frustrating even for someone like me not streaming on TikTok.

Context is I have script hooked up to streamelements websocket to listen for events for my alerts. Been running fine for months but today noticed it was dead with API returning 401 "failed to authenticate". Guessed perhaps my token changed so went to double check.
opened streamelements.com website and clicked log in with Twitch then got error "Error fetching profile from twitch, failed to authenticate with twitch. twitch rejected the authorization request. Please contact us for help." Tried with other accounts got same error. Submitted a ticket then tried again and it worked. I guess my timing was just lucky that it got fixed right now.

Hello! I'm currently using SE.Pay services for my viewers to donate. In The Netherlands the preferred payment method is 'iDeal' but a lot of viewers are experiencing issues when trying to make a payment through iDeal with SE.Pay. When choosing 'iDeal' as the payment method a white loading screen appears, but the loading never finishes loading, and my viewers give up. This means I am missing out on quite a bit of revenue (and so is SE.Pay)...

I've tried reproducing the issue and I am myself experiencing it as well.

SE will just say it’s the platforms fault in multiple different ways, even exhausting yourself to explain your access to live is fine. I went live on my phone, and on TT studio just fine. When using the SE plug in, I am suspended after 20mins. I have logged out, logged back in, uninstalled/reinstalled, deleted all outputs and readded them, nothing works and in the end they just say it’s TikTok’s fault so I really have no clue.

Everyone with some kind of helper role said basically the same thing, and yet, everyone thinks they either know a solution (which they don't), or blame StreamElements for that even though other alert service providers have the EXACT same problem.
