So with the new way gifted subs are being coded/tracked, any widgets I have that are not directly from/by SE would have to be updated by their creators to properly work right? Because my goals/widgets are still not working. Some are counting gift subs double and a timer I use isn’t counting them towards the time either. Depends what you mean.

If you intend to use overlays/alerts you'd need to stream from PC or use something like lightstream for that.

Otherwise our bot will work fine as is as it is not connected to direct console streaming.

Hello, I'm new to StreamElements, and just switched over about a month ago. I have a small problem with the "Twitch Item Alert" widget I added to my overlay. It's supposed to show alerts for channel point redeems and it is working in that regard... but the notification/alert is staying up instead of fading out like I'd like it to. Even when I adjust the two different animation settings, it still stays up. and I've tried removing it and adding it back too. I worry the fix might require work in the editor but I'm not experienced enough with HTML/CSS/JS to go through and figure it out on my own. Any idea as to how I can fix this?

Hey I wonder if someone can help me out because I am not as smart as I assumed.
I have used a functionality that allowed me with one command automatically make a clip of a stream and upload to discord - really helpful with some annual charity events i participate in.

tl;dr - it sends request to AWS to do it all via StreamElements bot.
it was basically
$(urlfetch **API_link_here**?user=${user.name})
that triggered lambda code, and responded with "clip has been created", but now it only says "unable to make request".

is it related to changes to $(customapi) command?

Sorry, I meant that right it’s basically paying with how much it can change sometimes, Click the windows button on the top. It should have a box called stats. Make sure that one has a check next to it that will display all of your stats, including your FPS, dropped frames and things like that if you have a lot of drop frames that means you’re having encoder issues and if you see a lot of bit rate droppage, that means that it’s your network or if you’re bit rate is fluctuating a lot

Correction: Things listed under "dropped frames" are network problems. Things under "skipped frames due to encoding lag" are encoder issues.

hey everyone. I'm trying to hack together a dice roller than accepts arguments from the command in the spread of numbers. I want to be able to type "!r <<the high end of the random numbers>>" and have it generate a random output from one to the variable I provided. example !r 35 should output a number between 1 and 35

I tried something like $(random 1-$(1)) but this cannot accept that variable as part of a command so it reverts to default behavior of a random number 1-100. I tried hacking a command to output the command I wanted. something like !command add !r !roll random testing ) if 1 its - being $(1) a ( butt $ with another command that extracts the parts of that command and outputs them into a new command. !command add !roll $(14)$(12)$(2) $(6)$(8)$(10)$(4) but it can't trigger its own commands.

I think this functionality is just not possible with the syntax provided by streamelements but I wanted to see if anyone had any insight.

Oh good, got another viewer shouted out by the wrong name because apparently Streamelements just doesn't consider bugs that can unmask people trying to be anonymous to be any kind of priority to fix.

the number of viewers is outrageous!

Hey, I've run into some minor problems with Streamelements in the past few days. It seems, that the Viewer Count - Widget is not working properly anymore, as ist displays the error 801. Some other widgets seem to run into the same issue, like the emote counter. Is this a known bug? I didn't change anything in my overlay

Things like a go live notification will work which seems to show that the bot is working but NONE of the commands are working (things like followage, setgame, settitle) all the usual suggestions have been done (sign out / in, part and join channel) the bot is a mod and is not banned in the twitch channel. I use TRIGON SUPER THEME STATIC (too bad its not animated complete)

and want/need to change something in the Text/Animation Display of the Alert.
For the Cheer Alert it displays one small Diamond and the Amount in a third row of the TEXT in purple. I need/want to make this a little bigger.

Heya, I am wondering if I am misunderstanding the underneath about $(args) or if it is broken:

I got a !test command with as output $(1), $(2), $(3), $(4), $(5), but if I use less than 5 words/args after !test SE doesn't respond at all. But if I read the docs FAQ above correctly, it should just give a response with the words/args that were provided and a blank for the ones that are missing, right?

Am trying to figure this out mainly for YouTube commands, hoping to find a workaround for $(touser)/$(user) not working as intended there (mainly having issues with usernames that contain multiple words, seeing Twitch usernames are always 1 word).

If anyone got alternative workarounds for this they could share, that would be appreciated too!

Hey I have been trying to stream and every now and again for some reason it will crash or streamelements will just freeze up entirely, when i try to grab crash reports it does show me what it was the only crash report i have is from june and all its said is "multi-rtpm.dll (crashed)" but i thought after uninstalling and removing streamlabs completly it would remove the multi-rtpm.dll from my file. but somehow it is still crashing from that as i did remove it and reinstall stream elements around march but it still seems to have this issue of multi-rtpm making it crash i guess?

i do see i have a folder for RTMP-services but idk if its the original one?

Specifically if there is an incrementing goal of having viewers reach 'building level x' should I add all of those up to see the maximum payout a single viewer can create or is the maximum simply the largest amount that would be applicable for them. e.g lets say a goal is 'Reach level 5 Base' and that has a payout of $1 then the next goal is 'Reach level 10 Base' and the payout is $3. Does that mean the total payout is $4 or $3?

Good morning. Running into a bit of issues with the chat widget lately.

Selective viewers stop showing up on the chat widget, even though they are not blocked or banned and I can see them perfectly in the Twitch chat

And it's not ALL viewers, just a select few
What's even more strange is that, out of the 3 chat widgets I am using, 1 of them is working perfectly showing all chats, while the other two are not showing the same viewers.

Reminder: Stream Elements currently (and for the last several months) has a bug where if a logged in user tips, but specifies am alternate name to use for the tip, that alternate name does not show in the activity feed (only the logged in name does), meaning that if you're shouting peiple out based on the activity feed, you might accidentally unmask users when you didn't intend to.

For some viewers in some situations, this can be literally dangerous, so I figure it's worth mentioning here on occasion until they fix it (assuming they ever do)

Best to just have one timer with all your possible outputs. Multiple timers should be used if you have different scenarios for each, like an offline timer, online timer, sponsored stream timer, etc. that way you can easily enable/disable them if you wanna switch

No as streamelements staff is using "we want to have a good relationship with twitch and twitch does not allow merging chats so this won't be a feature" as an excuse to not implement ability to have multiple services on one overlay.

Yes as its possible to custom code some stuff to grab messages from the youtube account and use the sockets to send it to the twitch one and then capture them within custom widget and display them in the same "chat", but its complicated to make and requires a lot of things to make work properly. I have made something for that but it had problem with message duplication so I moved to streamerbot for the chat.

I use alerts and the chat via Streamelements and it works perfectly on Twitch.

But with YouTube, for example, I have the problem that the chat is not displayed in the stream itself even though it is integrated as a source.
Alerts are also not displayed in the stream even though they are correctly integrated. If I simulate them via Streamelements, everything works.

In OBS Studio, I also have a so-called activity feed from YouTube / Streamelements. But no new subscribers appear there either, i.e. I simply don't notice when someone subscribes.

It's really damn annoying and I just haven't been able to do it for months, which is very annoying. Maybe you have some tips. I would be very happy 🙋🏻

Okay so I have an issue with 5 gifted subs alerts

I will use the example of 5 gifted subs
• If someone gifts 5 community subs, the alert won't play. Instead it will play a single gifted sub 5 times, which becomes very overwhelming very quickly. lol
But when I use the alert on the website it works perfectly fine to emulate

There should be an option for mass gifting that you can set! You would make a separate variation and set the Variation Parameter at "Community gift" and then the Condition "At least" and then 2

I started multistreaming to youtube yesterday and have been having an issue that I don't really know if it's a bug or something related to small channels streaming on yt: basically, I don't get any notification/alert of new subscribers to my channel. You can try re-exporting the GIF with no loop however this might still play from a random spot.

More advisable is to convert the gif to a video file like MP4. There are online tools that can help with this. Then bring the MP4 into the overlay instead.
Should then make it easier to time the video with the duration of the alert

I've tried no loop, but then it literally only plays once, and any follow up alerts are GIF-less.

MP4's don't have any transparency which is far from ideal. I tried using WEBM, but it doesn't seem to consider that a valid file type.

Actually i was being dumb regarding the WEBM, trying to upload it as an image. Ill try uploading it as a video to check that.

I stream Pokemon and give the viewers the chance to be a pokemon, tho with multistreaming, 2 people would be one pokemon, which does not work. I need a way to give both users of twitch and youtube the same chance, but only ONE gets chosen, doesnt matter which plattform, it takes all names and then draws one randomly from both pools

the bot stopped counting viewers' points, I've tried removing it, adding the moderator permission again, but nothing works. Nothing has changed on the channel, this error appeared for no reason. Other bots work perfectly, this error only occurs with the StreamElements one.

Someone knows how to fix that?

WEll there is a way... but like I said its a lot of custom code

First you have to connect throne to twitch alerts in integrations on throne, after then you need to write a websocket connection to the wss://pubsub-edge.twitch.tv and subscribe to activity-feed-alerts-v2.{obj.detail.channel.providerId} and figure out structure of the message and how to see what throne one looks like, after than make your custom "overlay" for that.

the use case for what i'm doing is... i mod for a larger streamer, and she wants to have a "tip the mod" option in her links, which leads to my SEPay tip link, which then shows an alert on her stream. It's easy, i can just give her a browser source for an overlay page that i've made and from that point it's just drag and drop into her OBS scene, no scuff.

I wanted to see if it was possible to add in my Throne alerts to that same overlay through Streamelements, so that if someone happened to gift me something from my throne, it would show up on her stream just the same as the tip alert without any further setup on her part. At this point it would just be another browser source link which isn't a huge deal, i just like minimizing the impact that i have on her setup, so i wondered if it was possible to add a browser source link into a streamlabs overlay, so i can send one overlay URL and setup would be minimal

and would also give me the ability to edit the alert on my own behind the scenes, as if i sent a Throne browser source I couldn't change anything about it on her side, whereas i could edit the streamelements overlay on my side and it'd change things on her stream- again, minimizing impact and work for her

No worry. I knew about this solution for some time cause I used this for hype train events before. So its just in end of day switching what is "used". If I would still have a code I would have just modified it on a fly and connect it to send the streamelements "merch" events as that is simple enough.
