Hey SE peoples! I just went thru my first bot attack! I'm really new to streaming, use stream elements for my overlay/alerts. Got a slew of follow bots and didn't know what to do, so I panicked and ended my stream. Excellent! If that ever happens again, is there anything I can do to temporarily suspend alerts or something from stream elements? Should I just mute my alert box in OBS?

well when it comes to Streamelements alert all i can recommend is turn off your follow alert If something like that happens again - bonus tips on a personal level for you especially since you said your new would highly recommend looking into using Sery_Bot the one thing i know you would like about it is " the bot can ban and block known bots when they attempt to follow you " also would recommend looking into Twitch Tools by CommanderRoot since he has a follower removal tool If you wish to remove the botted follows hope this helps

This channel is not monitored by staff (Or specifically those that handle support side of things) and is merely used for user to user support.

They handle tickets from multiple sources (Twitter/X, Email, Discord) and situations may arise where the ticket needs to be sent to another department which is not looking at things when you create the ticket.

Don't offer a serivce when Your staff are slow at responding. having multiple sources for Support doesn't mean an excuse to be lazy or slow. I said what I said It's my opinion and that's what matters to me. I expect excellent customer support or service. How everything should be.

2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

There's no integration between StreamElements and Twitch channel points, and I'm not aware of a way to give SE points to the first chatter of a stream

For the timer you can set a minimum amount of time before the message repeats, and a minimum number of messages that have to appear in chat. Both conditions will have to be met before it will repeat.

SE Banned Words: is there a way to allow a word when someone uses it in a particular instance but let the ban remain in force otherwise? USE CASE: So a comment made shows in my mod actions panel as containing a banned word. I then choose to allow the comment, but I don't want to allow that banned word all the time, only this time because the usage is acceptable.

nothing i've done helps. i have always set my twitch username as my "bot name" in SE Live and one day a few months ago it just completely stopped working. i have unintalled obs, uninstalled SE live, parted the bot from my channel, unmodded/remodded and no matter what i do i cannot show my own username as my bot anymore. it will send the message "custom bot name enabled" but still appear as the streamelements bot

2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404 (don't forget to add a space before the current path)

does streamelements change the ratios of videos we add to notification triggers based on the text it adds?

because I'm trying to get these notifications to play in a specific spot, overlapping with a frame on an existing video background in OBS & it's not working.

I built the clips out in AfterEffects & exported them with a a full sized background (but left the areas I don't need covered transparent - exported as .mov with alpha & converted to webm).

It seems like stream elements is randomly changing the size of the area around the portion of video, making it impossible to size it to fit without - trigger, check, resize, trigger, check resize (which doesn't work when I'm mking these for another streamer to use).

If the video is 1080p, the overlay is 1080p, and the dimensions in OBS were set to 1080p it should work fine.

Yes, I've ensured the overlay resolution, the widget sizing & the OBS scene (as well as the output files from AfterEffects) are all in 1920x1080.

I'm new to overlays, but I've done plenty of motion graphics that require making multiple comps which are layered on one another.

• X marks where it needs to land.
• 2nd pic shows canvas size I have to stretch it out to to size it.
• 3rd is showing misalignment in OBS despite being built directly on top of the frame (they are both the exact same size frame, built in a comp that's 1920x1080)

The clip is positioned on a 1920x1080 scene in which everything but the clip, in it's frame is transparent (alpha channel).

How do you set up the replay feature, I have found many videos about how to set it up but they all point to the OBS and not the streamelement version, even one of the streamers says that his ways is for OBS, but not for Streamelement or streamlab, so is there a video in how to set up replay in streamelement

All I can see is that the res of the widget is not 16:9, which could be the problem. If the initial frame was too small and you scaled it up by dragging it outsize of the canvas, chances are that something in that process messed up the aspect ratio.

the idea is that I build so the streamer doesn't have to fiddle with it. they add the browser source, size it 1920x1080 & hit "crtl+s" to fit it to their 1920x1080 canvas.

All I can see (in SE directly and OBS) is a reaaaally tiny gap on the right side of the video file because of the frame being a little bit smaller. It generally fits really good I'd say.

(every other video file type shows these dimensions - I'm pretty new to working with webm format, so not sure if this could be root of issue in how SE interacts with it)

The issue is when I set up a 1920x1080 video as a superchat alert, it resizes it (makes it smaller) which forces me to increase the size to make it fit as it should. (hence the 3365x1782 - or whatever it was - sizing).

If it is showing "No Data" on the overlay, it will show that when you start streaming.
If you don't want to show "No Data" you can change the option "No data text" to anything else, like "1 billion subs".

Good news: A smarter person than me found a way to show that clip in fullscreen
Bad News: It's still not 100% aligned, but you can either move the whole alertbox a few pixels or move the clip in AE.
More bad news: There's currently no alert text, but I'm investigating further on how to get that working.

In the mean time:
Upload that clip somewhere in the cloud or in the StreamElements Overlay Editor -> Rightclick the small preview -> Open in new tab (Keep that link ready)
In the alertbox, open the Superchat settings, scroll down and enable "Custom CSS"

There you have a few fields to enter custom code.

When I use "$(user)" in a simple message it works fine and displays the username of the person who did the command. When I try to use it in a customapi, it is sending the data as if it said "$(1)"

i.e. with chat command being "!bot qwerty":

I think I found it by cheer luck. But it is really not straight forwards. You have to go to the 3 dots then change "custom" to ammount.

Yeah here's the TECHNICAL tl;dr

The chatbot will unload itself in the background if there's no messages for a while. When there is a new message it'll load everything instantly.

What happens is you disabled the module, but not the default command. And while the chatbot is "unloaded" the frontend doesn't show the correct state for the default command.

There's a chance the alert may be bugged and display incorrect assets but not from variations.

If it is consistently showing incorrectly that would require making a ticket.

When you emulate, it can appear any name and any variation. As the browser source and the overlay editor are different instances, they can trigger different variations when emulating.

In case you want to test the variation, you can go to variation settings and click on the play button for that specific variation

Sometimes, the SE overlay text comes out slightly larger on OBS than on the web page. If the text goes past the bottom of the box, it can not display on OBS. Try making the text box larger and see if it appears on OBS, then adjust it down from there.

Subscriber is a person who is subscribed to your channel. If I give you 10 sub gifts, that doesn't make me a subscriber of your channel. I would be only a "gifter", nothing wrong here.

Hello, a Friend of mine Uses streamelements and recently we reset his PC and reinstalled SE.Live fresh, and connected his account etc..
