I used obsidian edge for my first 5 runs, all of which averaged about 60 floors
Using that iridium, I spent it all on ||crystallariums for jade staircase method|| then saved up for a season.
Now I average 800 ore per run with ||staircase method||

Go on a great luck day (purple star on TV), if you have anything that boosts luck, eat it, if not, eat speed. Then drink coffee, then bring as many normal bombs as you can. Bomb large groups of rocks and you will likely find holes. Do not go for gold, its too much of a time waste. Also bring a ton of food that doesn't give buffs (for healing)

Get grass starter from Pierre. Plant a few here and there where your animals won’t reach it. Every day, grass has a chance to spread. So wait that out, then periodically scythe it. If your silo is full you can pull the hay out from within your coop or barn, and dunk that hay in a chest to build up a reserve
