for me the idea is that beach farm doesn't always have to be played like a normal, standard playthrough
if you don't want to hand water, then don't do a large field, using retaining soil is only one method, and for me the least interesting
do 20 fish ponds (ik u said u hate fishing this is just one example), or make it an animal focused playthrough, beach has the space for that
do huge (late game) tree farms with tons of mushroom logs
do big wheat fields that don't require handwatering and start a beer empire
do a mining oriented run, make all of your money from either combat or bars from ||sc||, so beach is supplementary
with post cc content there's more than enough farming space

beach is the perfect opportunity to play it like u normally wouldn't

u're depending less on crops, esp. in early game

ofc u can do the same w/ other farm types, but beach is particularly spacious, and the limitation encourages u to start alternative playing styles from the get-go, while still giving u some sprinkler space

w/ the right setup in late game, fishing can still net u several hundred thousand per day

you can get winter roots from frost slimes -> put in seedmaker -> plant in greenhouse

but it does create problems if left unaddressed in the long run
