Hey, beginner here. I have a question : atm i focus on main relationship / growing plants and trying to discover things step by step.
How are we suppose to know how thing works ? Like what they like, how to use machines, where to find fishes ... I saw a post online saying sometimes villagers give you clues (and TV)

Do you have to find it randomly ? I'm using the wiki for some things (like the rare slime, machines ect ...) and try to discover the other things on my own

Unless you keep large fields of space open, you will inevitably get to a point where animals will eat your grass faster than it grows, and you'll have to use Hay sometimes.

But all animals are profitable even when feeding them with Hay

The starting scythe is kind of inefficient. If I had to put a number on it, I'd guess that you have about a 30% chance per tile of grass to get hay from it while scything with it.

That could take awhile. Make a silo, Scythe grass in some random part of your farm that you aren't using to fill it, and just let the grass re-grow.

Honeslty, as a newer player you are very unlikely to run into grass shortage issues, since I'm guessing you aren't going to have a massive animal opporation very qiuckly.

The first picture you can see the choppy-ness of the grass in the bottom, that's why I scythed to get some Hay, and just left it to regrow.
