Tackles can significantly boost your fishing game. Trap Bobber, Cork Bobber, and Dressed Spinner are the most notable examples.
Also, the "area" you unlock with the vault bundle you're not even gonna properly utilize that much early on anyways.
In addition to that, fishing is just so incredibly lucrative anyways, that it's super easy to make back that amount anyways.

i also believe regular quartz and fire quartz can be turned into refined quartz in the furnace with coal
