This is unproven, but based on my experience, if I stay in my farm map longer, the chance the lightning will strike is higher. Compared to if I left the farm from morning till night (to mine for example).
But once again, it's not proven and is just my personal experience in this game.

The trick is to collect some spring wild vegetables and then craft the spring wild seed pack. I just kept planting and expanding the wild seed collection and leveled up foraging like crazy

Early game energy is easy enough to solve if you like fishing. My go-to is the small pond in cindersap forest that only has smallmouth bass. Just fish there for a few in game hours per day and get 3-4 gold/iridium smallmouth bass. Those provide really good energy for me

if you hate fishing, then save some parsnips to eat for energy instead

worm bin is for making bait for fishing. If you buy the fiberglass rod, you can use bait to shorten the time for fish to bite

and the recycling machine is very useful for turning trash you get during fishing into useful materials

it's my favorite machine since I keep like 200 crab pots, and also I like decorating my farm with crystal path and need a ton of quartz

I don't recommend making too many worm bins, though. I made only 2 and I'm already swimming in a ton of bait I cannot use up 😂
