Cleaning up your farm definitely isn't a priority that early. You have little energy and little access to food, base level tools and level 0 on skills (more energy used) and no need for all that space. Just clear a small area for some crops, and slowly clear more space as you need more

Community center will be your main objective, it can be unlocked from day 5 onwards. Quests are more little things to keep you entertained

kind of! Those are definitelly things to work towards, and great for early game. If you've just started your farm, then yep! Once you unlock the Community Center that would be the 'main' goal (or joja if u prefer) though.

Good for players on a 2nd playthrough who want a breath of fresh air, but I'd rather new players experience the game in standard where there's nothing and lots of space.

if you're okay with save scumming one of the old tricks is to dig up an artifact spot and see if it's something you need, if it's not, leave the artifact spot alone

the next day it'll probably still be there, try again

thing you got to keep in mind with that is that not all artifacts pop in all spots, so if you got an artifact at all, you're probably not going to do better

it's more like digging up mixed seeds and stuff that are losers

winter also tends to have a lot more artifact spots, so that would probably be the best time to do it as well

Seems you're just misreading the bit about how you obtain the tags.

If you get a treasure chest in the same cast as a Rainbow Trout, the tag will just be in the chest

as opposed to it just being put in your inventory if you don't get a chest

While it does say that the training rod is useful, it says in the context of if you're low leveled or don't have access to either bait 'n' tackles.

If you have access to a Fiberglass rod, use that instead along with some bait, preferably targeted if possible, but normal baits fine.

I'd say "low leveled" would be fishing level 1-3, so if you're like fishing level 4 and have access to a Fiberglass rod with bait, use the fiberglass rod

I personally like pickaxe first because I like mining and j save my watering can for winter. It really just depends on your gameplay tho and if you have sprinklers yet

Depends on your current needs.
With pickaxe, iridium is not that necessary outside of more endgame content, and even then, bombs exists.
Picking axe, having iridium is certainly useful, but not necessary unless you're committing deforestation on a constant.
Hoe or Watering Can is certainly useful, especially for redesigning sprinkler setups and such.

There's also ||Panning|| which was my first tool to turn iridium purely because I wanted to get the luck ring as quickly as possible
