When you're putting up fences around coops/barns make sure to place them on grass, place starters if needed. The fence keeps animals from eating that piece ensuring there's always something to grow back

You can also use lightning rods to protect grass as well

Should I choose fruit cave or mushroom cave?

Fruit cave is better for CC completion as it makes the artisan bundle easier, and potentially saves you from needing to buy a pomegranate tree. Fruits also make better gifts overall, and the forage you pick up in the cave benefit from foraging levels/perks for quality. You also can just ignore the cave for a week or two and not miss out on much.

Mushroom cave is better for early game energy, and money if you want to actually sell the items (and you get a free dehydrator). You need to check it every other day fully make use of it.

Both caves long term are inconsequential.

And Ancient Fruit is kind of like a real long process
