I will only say this; after you make some money you will be able to buy A LOT of seeds. However that doesn't mean you can take care of a large farm as a beginner since you need to water them everyday and that will cost a fair amount of energy.

Keep your farm in cute size until you get some upgrades.

Bats give fruit which are generally liked gifts and they let you fill up CC requests easily because you dont need trees that much.

Mushrooms are good for early energy demand but you get mushroom logs later on in game which defeats their purpose.

when you get tea sapling recipe (which most of the people sell just after crafting the sapling for good profit) , which requires the seasonal seeds, you can just put the common mushrooms from the cave in the seed maker and now you have a good source of money and the seed maker can produce upto 3 seeds , which can make more mushrooms, i.e. infinite seeds

Just leaving some hopefully helpful tips (not necessarily for day one, but for early game):

• Plant the parsnip seeds you get, then grow potatoes. (Make sure to save up money before Spring 13th to buy strawberry seeds at the Egg Festival.)

• Try to clear your farm as much as you can just to make space for crops.

• It’s recommended to go for the Community Center (CC) route since it helps you learn the game’s basic mechanics.

• Look for forageables! You’ll need them for the CC, and they’re great for restoring energy.

• Always check the TV for daily luck (Fortune Teller). Luck affects your chances of finding ladders in the mines and fishing for treasure chests. Also, check the TV every Sunday for new recipes and Wednesdays for re-runs.

• Fishing is a great way to make money early in the game, so fish as much as you can!

• Don’t sell wood, stones, or fibers—you’ll need them later.

• Progress every five floors in the mines. The elevator will save your progress, letting you return later without starting over.

• Build a silo as soon as you can. (before having coops and barns) It stores hay when you cut grass on your farm.

• If you're trying to befriend villagers, I recommend befriending them first:

1. Pam - for batteries
2. Linus - sashimi recipe + wild bait
3. Caroline - tea saplings (yes, it got nerfed sadly, but 250g a piece is still good imo)
4. Gus - sends recipes including buff items
5. Wizard - if you're planning to change your appearance

• If you’re lucky enough to find a Prismatic Shard or Dino Egg early (congrats!), DON’T donate the first one you get to the museum. You’ll need them for other purposes.

Most important tip: Don’t compare your progress to anyone else (yes, that includes those youtubers who speedruns everything). Play at your own pace, and if you feel FOMO, remember that you’ll experience everything as you go. The game has no deadlines anyway.

Technically, from a code monkey point of view, the ladders will be guarenteed to spawn under some rocks. But you need some sort of external program to analyze the seed/current day factors to 'predict' where that ladder is.

For actual expected gameplay, it's completely random when you break rocks/kill enemies.

The more rocks you break, the higher chance you'll find a ladder.

Normal trees need to be one tile away from other trees. However, they can have pathing right next to them. A common strat for tree (tapper) farms is to surround trees with pathing, placing the trees 1 tile apart, to keep tree seeds from dropping and sprouting up and blocking you from walking between them.

Cinder forest is a good place to farm wood. If u get tree seeds (which u will get from cutting down trees) use those and plant them where they won't get trampled. You'll have a steady supply of wood. U can also bulk buy from Robin but it's really expensive and not the most efficient
