I usually get gold pickaxe asap after unlocking the mines. mining on spring 5th will get you just enough resources to upgrade to copper pick during the same day, and you can buy the iron and gold needed for further upgrades to the pickaxe. this does depend on RNG a bit though, because you usually need to get lucky with fishing chests to afford all the gold and iron in time

Hello, all! Just joined here after ta 5+ year farm file. After waiting a while to let the modding community get caught up with update 1.6 (and slowly easing myself back into the game), I figured I'd join here before starting Smapi and adding Expanded/East Scarp/Ridgeside Village.

Any suggestions here for good quality of life mods? I know I'm looking for the one that lets my farmer hug everyone, and the extended dialogue ones (I love my ig wife, and wish there was more to talk about with everyone).

Early game passing out is very good for the first 5-10 days. You get 2 extra hours each day and start the next day with full energy as long as you leveled up any of your skills. (Super easy to do early) So it gives more time to do anything you feel like doing
